obviously, some of you were not watching the same video I was because I saw "black" americans. It''s a shame that a person would bring race into this. My guess is that this person doesn''t even work at this plant so to say such a thing is not only wrong but is just plain ignorance. Toyota has set the standard as far as using good business practices. As an american I admire what they have done and continue to do as a company to ensure not only the future of Toyota, the communities in which the plants reside, the enviroment, but also it''s employees. Bottom line...American companies like Ford, GM could learn a lot from these Japanese auto makers. Oh, and when I buy a vehicle I buy it for the quality not because it''s American or Japanese which brings me to my other point, those people in the video are Americans making a vehicle in America.

Dee Imoordangle: Take a look at the video again, the second person shown is black. To pull a race card as a reason not to by a Toyota vehicle is plain old ignorance, do some research. The black or african american population alone in SA is %6, Latino %61, White %64. The Toyota plant employs ~2000 employees, which based purely on percentage is 120 black or african americans. Needle in a haystack. The reason the big three are in the tank is they have done too little too late. They have watched Toyota and Honda take huge market share over the last 10-20 years and all they have done is preach "buy american". Take a look at the american content on an F150 and compare it to a Tundra, you will be pleasantly surprised. Toyota has 13 manufacturing plants in the united states, and its not the japanese building the vehicles. Its Americans building the vehicles. They even have a joint venture plant in California with GM. So ask yourself WHY are the big three failing? High hourly wages and benefits, TOO many hourly workers force upon them by union negotiations, excessive legacy costs for retiress negotiated by the union, and a legacy of poor quality when compared against their competitors. I buy american, my Tundra was made in San Antonio, and my Carolla was made in California. THE END!!

Just to clarify, Toyota has done a great job with hiring employees from all cultures. Imooredangle, be advised if you dont see any black americans, its because CBS did not include them in their footage. Toyota is a great company to work for, they value respect for people and customer satisfaction, its easy to prove by looking at the big 3''s condition and comparing it to Toyota. Maybe the big 3 should consider asking Toyota for a Bailout Loan. :-) Building quality cars and trucks is Toyotas lifeblood, and they do it very well. Buying a car or truck from another maker is spending your money on a second rate vehicle.

LOL Imoordangle, you do realize that they filmed this piece in San Antonio, right? This is a far cry from Detroit. I think that the African-American population here is about 6%. Even so, rest assured that there is no shortage of brown-ness at this plant!

Wow, I didn''t see one single black American at this Toyota plant--I will buy an electric car--when they are ready, from a company that has a diverse workforce...
