- Even if some people don''t like the fact that the Obamas, a black family is moving into the highest position in the US, we do have to admit one thing. The Obamas represent the best of what our country has to offer. They show the world what it really means to live in and be a part of the USA.
This interview shows that we made the right choice this year in electing an intelligent man who will be working to repair the damages made in the last 8 years. The world already see us in a differently.
The more I see Obama speak, the more I beleive that we are on the right track to advance into the 21st century. He represents the future of the US and of the world. That makes me a very proud American today.
There is a light at the end of that dark tunnel and there''s no doubt in my mind that Obama will do his best to lead us to it. I just thank God that President-elect Obama wasn''t afraid to take this very difficult job at this difficult time. I''m also very thankful that he and his family decided to lead by example. - Reply to this comment

- Barack Obama. Wow.... My prayers were answered on November 4, 2008. To see what I have been hoping and praying for thought this election come true. He showed kids like me in school that you can do anything. I literally cried like a baby when I saw that he won. It was my early birthday present. If you are reading this President Obama, I plan on going to Yale, and do something with my life!! I LOVE YOU!

- I congratulate the Obamas from the bottom of my heart. I find them truly amazing. Barack with his calm, charismatic, caring yet resilient character. Michelle with her strentgh & her passion for life & family. I wish them both well at the White House. They epitomize what we are all searching for in a family. I am glad they are the ones that are going to represent this country. And now the world will look upon us and realize what Americans really want. Barack, like you said, we are not expecting that you fix everything but that you try your best to do so. It''s good to hear from you that are going to try. We are counting on you to hold your word. Don''t worry about the girls or your family, as long as both as you (Michelle & you) remain as true as you can be, your family will be rock solid as you wish. And the girls will become wonderful people as well. Thanks to you, politics has come down to a level where everyone can feel like they can make a difference. I hope the best for you all...

- We as American must support our president. He will lead, but we must get on this train together. Let''s forget about our skin color and lets be Americans!

- Dear Mister President Elect, What a breath of fresh air you and Michelle are. I have spent the last year hoping and praying the Americans would see what a wonderful, genuine, intelligent, and kind soul you are and see that you are what are country and world needs right now. I find myself daily wondering what does Mr. Obama ask of us today and wishing I could roll my sleves up and get to it as a proud American. I pray for your safety and health and that of your wonderful family.

- I''m so relieved that Barack is leading us during these tumultuous times--his calmness and confidence is reassuring. I loved Barack''s comments about his mother-in-law. So genuine and funny.

- The election of Barack Obama to the Presidency of the United States is a triumph of social engineering as much as a referendum on the distrust of the party in power. Thank you all who participated actively in the campaign of someone who may go down in history as the most likable President in recent memory. Everyone should please do everything in their power to make sure that this good man keeps his promises. A lot was said during the trip to November 4, 2008 and it is up to all Americans to start to hold those in power accountable. No matter what your party of preference we are all Americans and one thing that we seem to have lost over the last few decades is our ability to sniff out a scam. Maybe this election shows that we didn''t completely lose that sense and upon reawakening we are now going to use it to fight for our Democracy. HeadRat

- Sheena2112,
If you are just now realizing that Barack is a sensitive, calm, and decent man, then you haven''t been paying attention! I realized that he was all of that (and more) since February of 2007, right after he announced his campaign for the Presidency! You were probably listening to much to far-rightwing talking points against him!
But, it is good that you recognize his goodness now! - Reply to this comment
- As a Black American, I still cannot believe that we have finally reached a point in America where a man can be judged on the content of his character and not the color of his skin. We hold these truths to be self evident that Barack Obama was treated as an equal and the dream is alive and well in America. So from this point in forward, let the cry go out to every corner of this world, we, Black Americans, as a people have finally reached the promise land. You go %u201CPresident Elect Barack Obama, the 44 President of America%u201D. I support you!

I would like to convey to you the immense sense of hope and joy your election aroused in our little country (Belgium). After all you are also our President in some way, as America plays such an important role in Europe and in the world. But besides that you are our President of Heart as you are a man of heart who speaks to the heart of people.
The way europeans vision America since your election has already changed in a great way. Your mere apparition on our screens is a shower that drains down negativity.
I have a deep trust that you will make this world a better place to live in.
We would like to thank you for the energy and care you display on your task.
May you and your family live long. - Reply to this comment

- Success always starts at home! The Obama''s exude serious love and passion for one another. Barack has become my personal standard as to what kind of man to look for as a mate. Intelligent, genuine and classy.
Michelle and Barack are always embracing each other, showing passion and love for each other, unlike any other presidential couple. - Reply to this comment
