ok-prophetfella, you don''t have to be so ugly, I am a registered republican and I really don''t think the sky is fallen but all new technology is high at first.
Once we start putting money into research and developing better ways of making them, the cost always goes down. I believe we have to start somewhere. Almost anything would be better than what we are doing now. PS: I may not be a tree hugger or a full blown go green lunatic, but I worry about my kids and what we are leaving them. This is a beautiful planet, and like most people I don''t want to destroy it. Also Just because it wont happen in our lifetime don''t mean we didn''t do it.

I don''t understand McCain saying nuclear power plants being so clean, we''ve got caves and bunkers full of nuclear waste, and he seems to think he is for finding new energy sources but ALL he wants is to drill here (which wont help anytime soon) and more nuclear power plants. We have so many good companies that are already investing in wind and solar power that are getting great results, but McCain almost avoids talking in depth about anything other than nuclear power. I''ve heard so many contadictions from McCain, and Obama makes more since when he explains what he wants to do.
Also just wanted CBS to know that it really pissed me off when the reporter lastnight said Obama might be over confident enough to leave the campain trail to see his grandmother, no, you jerk he''s like most normal people are, family comes first. The guy actually has a heart, and you are gonna make it out to be ego!

If Obama wanted to emulate McCain''s attack ads, we would hear robocalls in the Heartland informing America''s patriots that McCain:

a) was in the pocket of former Lincoln Savings & Loan president and criminal Charles Keating;

b) was buddies with fellow criminal Republicans Ted Stevens, Tom Delay, Scooter Libby, Trent Lott, Jack Abrahamoff, Don Young, Larry Craig, Mark Foley...etc;

c) accepted political donations from the Watergate criminal G. Gordon Liddy;

d) picked a runningmate mired in scandal (Troopergate) and has acted "unethical" according to her own people;

e) gave up information to his communist captors in North Vietnam, whereas other American prisoners did NOT;

McCain has a lot to answer for, but Obama hasn''t stooped to that level. You can''t call yourself a patriot while voting for criminals.

First, I want to thank CBS and their staff for a wonderful interview experience. Their professionalism and ability are outstanding.

Second, I want to talk to people who either watched this live or are seeing this on the CBS site. There are many options to gain entrance into the program I started.
1. If you are leaving the military, ask about Helmets to Hardhats. This is a program specifically for soldiers of any branch to move to the private sector as a member of a union. Look at www.HelmetsToHardhats.org for more info.
2. Call your local UA (United Association) local for information about the welding program. (In Tampa, which serves 11 surrounding counties, it is Local 123.)
3. If you are in Pinellas County, Florida, contact WorkNet Pinellas. www.worknetpinellas.org

I hope this helps anyone who sees this post and finds an avenue that suits their needs, abilities, and strengths.

Best regards,
Peter S. Halpern
