Katie Couric, you are clearly bias and should not have the priviledge of reporting & interviewing on the election. I''ve watched you closely for the past two weeks and you consistently show strong aggression towards McCain/Palin & always passive towards Obama/Biden. I''ve noticed this in every report whether its with the candidates or others. You are making major impacts on the campaign, which I do not believe is your job to sway. I have been a fan of yours for a long time & think its great that your career is advancing, but do not respect how you are conducting your coverage. You should be fair or step aside & let someone else do the right thing.

Cute. So now McBush has to babysit Palin. I just found out something I did not know about McCain. His first wife (former swimsuit model) & mother of his 3 eldest children was involved in a serious car accident when McCain was a prisioner of war in Hanoi. She was seriously disfigured. She faithfully looked after their children waiting anxiously for news. Ross Perot paid for her medical care & Nancy Regan took her under her wing. When McCain returned in ''73 prematurely white and his body like a skeleton, he went to Hawaii, met his current wife had an affair and divorced his first wife. Now that is good a good
Christian values.

sbagetis, I don''t want to compare Palin to Obama for several reasons. One of which would be the fact that she is running for the VP slot and he is the Presidential candidate. The other is I want to judge her on her on merit. In response to your question, I''m certain Obama has chenged his positions over the years. However, as a former McCain supporter I can say " he aint the old Mav we all grew to respect". At the twilight of his career He has folded to those on the extreme left. Don''t get me wrong, I''m not trying to find fault in conserative values. You have to admit John USED to be the Republican black sheep. He was far closer to the midle than the left. As the leader of the free world you have to be as open minded and inteligent as you are shrewd. As far as rural folk goes, I used to live in Idaho and the country side of England prior to moving to Miami.
Let me ask you a question? How can a VP candidate of the United States of America not have a clear undertanding of the seperation of Church and State? Now that is beyond embarrassing for her and her fellow Americans.

Kayman5,

You are very right. McCain doesn''t have any executive government experience. So in all honesty that''s not an argument that he as the top of the ticket can make.

IMHO, a person must have the knowledge, grasp, and experience to lead this country domestically, and internationally. He must have demonstrated core beliefs that are in the mainstream of America. His beliefs should have been known and consistent over a long period of time. Can you make these claims with Obama. Accept for very recently, his associations, focus, views and actions, have been more on the fringe of mainstream of America. I fully believe when Obama says main-street, he''s only referring to the main-streets in our most Urban areas. His current social and economic views, seem to have been adopted to be more palatable to the general public at large.

I keep reading that Obama isn''t qualified to be President. I''m curious why that is. Can anybody tell me what the qualifications are to be President and exactly why Mcain IS qualified? Many regurgitate the idea that Obama has no executive experience. Does Mcain? He''s been a legislator for 26 years. Any thoughts on this? I don''t see any press asking this or any public discussion as to what the people of the US truly see as the job description of the President of the United States today in 2008.

TheMiamiDave, Please explain to me how a candidate like Obama, can be believed. His positions have changed to suit the time, or his audience. I will say, he is a good speaker, and has had over a year to pat down his sounds bites. But can someone truthfully tell me what his core beliefs are. Palin to this point, is not well rehearsed yet on national issue. This is not to say, she doesn''t understand them. I believe she does. At least I understand where her core beliefs lie. Being from a rural portion of the country myself, I also understand, her more folksy speak will not play well everywhere, especially in Washington.

Amazing the partisanship here Katie! How about Biden getting shot at? Hillary sure got coverage for her similar comment. Biden telling us about FDR and tv in 1929? Opposing Obama on coal burning plants? Saying Obama shouldn''t be doing on-the-job training. Oh yea, as Obama says, he has executive experience because he ran his campaign??? Where are those clips CBS? When are you going to ask Obama about his involvement with terrorist William Ayres? His campaign donations to the radical goup ACORN and their voter fraud history (oh yea, and that''s where his community organiser work was done). When is Obama going to be asked how he feels about the many Democrats who don''t support him or think he is ready to lead as you asked Palin? Who is going to ask Obama what he has done to qualify him to be president? He is not a heartbeat away, he is running for the top spot on the ticket. Apparently not CBS'' liberal left brand of partisan "interviewing." I thought you were running a "NEWS" program. Shame on you Katie and CBS.

I''m an American that will vote across party lines if my issues are being addressed by the other party. However, I challenge any "Red" blooded American to honestly say they didn%u2019t feel a true sense of disappointment with Palin. As a Dem I felt this because there is a possibility that this ill prepared woman could be our voice to the World. My friends to the left should be upset that your party went for the %u201CBabe%u201D game instead of the %u201CBrain%u201D game. Even if you believe Katie was a firm interviewer and Palin was set up, this gives you a preview of what will happen to her on the more critical world stage. I was not a Ronnie supporter but I will admit he brought his acting skills to the world%u2019s stage. Palin on the other hand doesn%u2019t know and can%u2019t even fake it.
Is this the legacy of our founding fathers? How much longer can the American people endure unintelligent leadership in an increasingly educated world? The U.S. Dollar is not the only declining value around the world; so also is the respect of our great nation by those around the world.

Talking about how the Couric interview made Palin look. Imagine if Tim Russert was still alive and interviewed her on Meet The Press?

I would have been a Palin Massacre! - America, it''s obvious that though she may be a good mom, fisherman, and gun-toting moose-eater, oh yeah, not to mention Governor of a State with a population about the same as Ft Worth, Texas.

She is ABSOLUTELY NOT qualified to be one 72-year-old 4 time cancer surviving heartbeat from being President of the world''s leading superpower.

Anyone who supports the idea of putting McCain/Palin in the White House deserve to have their head examimed, because their heart isn''t into what''s best for America.

You are so right Red0748, when Obama didn''t wear his Lapel pin everybody was all over him. Is it ok for McCain not wearing his pin? Hello....are we using double standards here?

What''s scarier than her inexperience is the fact that she is just not switched on - she''s daft! She cannot think on her feet and cannot even articulate herself. An embarrasment.

Best thing would have been to accept the mistake and carry forward. This is going to haunt them. Little Johnny has made too many mistakes. He comes out a liar, dishonest and untrustworthy. Palin is inept, air-headed and confused. Frankly both are not ready.

Oh, Holy God- you have got to be kidding. The SNL writers are having a field day. They can spend the whole week getting stoned and still get paid- the script just wrote itself...

I am a decorated Marine Sgt. and I am embarrassed by McCain/Palin, they are both liars. They lie about their statements and don''t answer questions. This is clearly not behavior for a President and Vice President. It is disgraceful for a naval officer to lie with the moxie Sen. McCain has shown. He has claimed credit for helping to refine the process for crafting this recovery bill, yet he derailed the process. I am disgusted by this display of partisan rancor. I hope they see this, maybe he may remember
Honor and "country before self" the Navy Motto.

Yes, virtue of prayer. Palin needs divine guidance and wisdom. She is lacking much.
