- For the life of me, I CAN NOT understand why Bush, McCain and now, Palin speak the way they do when answering questions.
I would never suggest that those on the left are the perfect, but whenever I listen to Bush, McCain, and Palin answer questions from reporters, their speech cadence drives me CRAZY.
For all of their [McCain & Palin] talk and attempts to call Obama an elitist, what kind of message are we send out children and the WORLD if we continue to elect those who are intellectually deficient. "WE THE PEOPLE" do ourselves and this nation harm when we foolishly allowed the likes of Bush to go around the world embarrassing us whenever he opened his mouth.
(If Tweedledee and Tweedle Dumb are elected, this country and our leaders will look like a joke to the rest of the world.) - Reply to this comment
- One of the weakest minds I''ve ever seen in an interview. Beyond embarrassing. This woman is incapable of logical thought.
McCain, what on earth were you thinking????? - Reply to this comment
- This is exactly what the liberals said about Ronald Regan. Get used to Sarah Palin. Eight years as VP, then eight more as President. I am so looking forward to seeing that little boy grow up in the public eye and celebrate his 16th birthday in the white house.
He will bring so much love to America and the world. - Reply to this comment

- Sarah Palin may be a great mom. She may be a skilled hunter and fisher. She may even be competent to be the Governor of Alaska - that''s for the people of Alaska to determine. But, Sarah Palin is not, by any stretch of the imagination, ready to serve our country in any elected position at the national level.

- There are several things we must consider before making the mistake of electing this woman to the second highest office of our country. McCain is 72 years old, this should be seriously considered, I realize that the odds are that he would be able to serve all 4 or posibly 8 years of his term. But history shows that several vicepresidents have become the president, do you want this woman th run our country. Have we not learned anything from the Bush years, not so smart people make not so smart choices. I do not want a president that doesn''t beleive that the oil in her state was formed millions of years ago from living organisms. And that the human race is only a few thousand years old.

- I''m afraid that it wasn''t just that she changed the subject to avoid answering the Hamas question, I truly think she didn''t understand it. She probably doesn''t know whether Hamas falls into her "good guy" or "bad guy" camp.
We''ve just had eight painful years of a president who sees the world in black-and-white, good and evil, and will be paying the price for decades to come. We don''t need the potential for any more. - Reply to this comment
- "CBS - how many HOURS of interview did Couric have with Palin? - and then like the liberal elite you are, you take the parts you believe will put Palin in the worst light...by Jack-A."
You can''t be serious. If you didn''t make this up, you should be able to tell us which parts they "left out." It''s frightening to read this kind of nonsense. Even if Katie hadn''t bent over backwards going easy on Palin, who clearly was blissfully unaware of EVERYTHING, for example letting Palin get away with changing the subject to avoid answering the questions like the Hamas issue, you still would have been simply throwing out an unfounded, made-up claim. You didn''t even PRETEND to have any evidence to back your silly statement. What a waste of time (yours and ours). - Reply to this comment
- This is downright scary. If McCain Palin win, I am moving to Canada.

- To pmcguireumc: Katie said "august...uhhh...building..." NOT "augusta" as you suggest. If you were familiar with the word you would know that when used in the context that Katie uses it, stress is given to the end of the word and not the beginning (as in the month). That said, Katie''s small pause before the word "building" would appear as though she said "augusta"--but only to people who are as ignorant as you and Palin and are looking for any measures, albeit desperate, to defend her from people who see right through her empty head.
On another note, I would love to see this woman in a conversation with Ahmedinejad. He may be evil as she suggests, but at least he can hold his own--the man is not only articulate, but eloquent as well. - Reply to this comment
- Oh for crying out loud. Can''t this woman answer a question straight? Katie has to feel like she''s talking to a 3 year old, having to repeat her questions. Call me silly, but I''d like someone running for vice-president to be able to comprehend simple questions and give an educated answer, not a non-educated guess. She is frustrating me. She makes me almost embarassed to be a woman. Are there people out there really considering voting for this ticket? Do they realize that if something happens to McCain, this woman would be our president? Does that not scare you! There would be no place to hide from that state of chaos.

- After serveral viewing ( i could not believe what i was viewing) it is clear that we the american citizen and the voting public are considered fools, and will buy anything. If she is the best that the republican party and offer, and we elect the McCain/Palin ticket, then all is lost, and we will be proven to be fools

- I had to comment on this. Palin is little better than a puppet.
I''m sure she is up to date on what''s happening in Alaska, but she is totally clueless about the rest of the world and the rest of the U.S. - Reply to this comment

- Palin = Great entertainment. I''m starting to watch Evening news tv. Stay up Saturday night to see how accurate a portrayal Tina Fey will do. Yes even help boost the ratings of CBS Evening News.

- Once the rehearsed answers are spent, Sarah Palin is lost. You can tell immediately that she''s out there - out comes the nasal voice, the accent gets heavier and she starts dropping her "ing" word endings - "Putin, what''s he thinkin''?" What was John McCain thinkin''?

- I appeal to the American people to use their votes wisely this Nov; especially after watching the Palin interview. It is clear that she is "in way over her head". It is not just her lack of experience or knowledge that worries me. Her inability to articulate her (own) thoughts; to analyse and respond to questions; to appreciate the value of international travel are downright dangerous. I don''t think any of us is expecting her to know everything or that she must have the "right" answers. Itis also not a question of when she gets her passport or how many countries she has been. It is the way she processes information, her thought processes & the regurgitation of information rather than think and yet her firm conviction about "good guy" and "bad guy" that is horrifying; especially at a time when we are facing a serious economic crisis and many of us risk losing our jobs &/or homes. Not to mention that our credibiity around the world is at an all-time low. Palin is a danger to America and the world. We are truly doing our country a disservice by allowing this calibre of candidate to be voted into such a high office. Palin herself should remove herself from the race if she really cares for her country; not to mention her party. I say to every American voting next month, let''s cast our votes for our country, not for the party we support.
