Comments on: Olympic Tape Mystery Revealed
- I''ve just reviewed the video regarding kinesiotape. Isn''t it being applied backwards???? It wouldn''t take any more time to demonstrate it the correct way. My Physical Therapist applies the tape for rotator cuff injury, in the opposite direction and she doesn''t stretch it before applying it..

- Finally Kinesiotaping is being brought out in the public eye and people can finally see that there are other alternatives to help them achieve their goals for optimum health, whether for healing or performance. Dr. Shoshany did a great job quickly presenting what Kinesio taping is and some of its uses. This 2.5 min. segment must have been meant to stimulate the interested party to "look it up". In 2.5 min. the public wouldn''t understand inhibition or facilitation they only need to know what it is, where to find it, and who can do it. Congradulations Dr. Shoshany for having the opportunity to bring this incredible therapeautic technique to the public.

- The physical therapist in Alabama needs to know that this tape job was not a "textbook" tape job and each taping is unique to patient presentation and signs and symptoms.
There is no medicine in the tape or chemicals,it is a cotton tape with an elastic component and a adhesive.

- I ENJOYED YOUR SEGMENT THIS MORNING ON KINESIOTAPE, HOWEVER I FOUND SOME ERRORS IN DR. SHOSHANY''S REPORT. I AM A PHYSICAL THERAPIST IN ALABAMA, AND HAVE BEEN USING KINESIOTAPE IN OUR PRACTICE ALSO. WE HAVE HAD SIMILAR RESULTS WITH THE USE OF THE TAPE. THE DEMONSTRATION THIS A.M. APPEARED TO BE FLAWED FROM THE EDUCATION WE HAVE HAD ON THE APPLICATION OF THE TAPE. THE HISTORICAL INFORMATION SEEMED TO BE CORRECT, HOWEVER THE APPLICATION WAS NOT. NOW, TO GIVE THE BENEFIT OF DOUBT, THE doctor MAY HAVE BEEN IN A HURRY TO APPLY IT FOR JUST THE SAKE OF DEMONSTRATION. WE WERE TAUGHT TO RARELY FULLY STRETCH THE TAPE TO APPLY IT, AND ALSO NEVER REMOVE THE BACKING COMPLETELY IN ITS APPLICATION. THE USEFULNESS OF THE TAPE IS DIRECTLY PORPORTIONAL TO THE CORRECT APPLICATION. TO APPLY IT ONE DIRECTION MAY INHIBIT MUSCLE FUNCTION AS FOR MUSCLE STRAINS, AND TO APPLY IT TO THE SAME MUSCLE IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION WOULD FACILITATE THE FUNCTION. THE TAPE APPLIED TO THE CLIENT''S SHOULDER THIS A.M., FOR ROTATOR CUFF PROBLEMS APPEARED TO BE DIRECTLY OPPOSITE TO THE METHOD WE WERE TAUGHT. GRANTED HE MAY BE TRYING IT FOR A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FUNCTION. MANY PHYSICAL THERAPISTS USE THE ITEM IN THEIR CLINICS FOR A NUMBER OF PURPOSES, INCLUDING USE FOR NEUROMUSCULAR DISORDERS, I.E. CEREBRAL PALSY, ETC... IT IS NOT JUST SPORTS TAPE.

- What in the tape, that makes is so special? Is their some kind of chemical, that makes the tape special.Does it get hot, or cold? Could you do the same type of treatment, with any tape(duck)? It was not put together as a good story. Your research department, did not do that good of a job.
