We ought to do away with rings and put dots on our forehead so it is more obvious that we are married. Anything to protect the marriage is useful, even a lawsuit.

Another pointless and frivolous lawsuit. As if the courts could stop this sort of behavior. Evan after you win you still loose.

I-a woman- am amazed that when men have an affair, the wife blames the mistress. Takes two, ladies..maybe three. Personal accountability. I'm not real sure that the threat of a lawsuit will stem the tide of adultery. Chee!

Not all, but most. Same for the death penalty.

This woman is a greedy opportunist. The mistress is not a homewrecker; her husband willingly committed adultery. If he didn't want to do it, he wouldn't; but he's done it more than once during their marriage. Why not sue him? Why is the woman always the "homewrecker"?

Plus, is she saying that her husband is her property? I thought slavery was abolished.

This law is outdated and needs to be abolished. The wife is greedy and vindictive and needs to grow up.

I totally agree. The married spouse is at fault. I would never agree to this if I was on a jury.

No. The paramour is just as at fault. Both conspired to break a legal contract (the marriage contract). Had either of them said "no", the contract wouldnt have been broken.

In a divorce, especially in fault states like Virginia, the spouse that is the adulterer is penalized. In Virginia, it is a felony.

But states like NC take it one step further, as they should.

It's about time somebody put some reality into family court. Women in America walk out of family court basicly in involuntary servitude. One parent has obligation, the other privilege - that privilege entails not exercising visitation, thus prohibiting the other parent from working for salary or pursuing antyhing else. The law should work so that if a partner is soooo disatisfied in the relationship, they get out of before engaging in an affair. There are career mistresses out there, who go from somebody else's husband to somebody else's husband, to.....and they are enabled by our courts.
