Ok, I'll accept the fact that there were attempts to change THIS school's curriculum in rural Kansas, so what !!!!.....can I please have some additional evidence that Religion was being forced on everyone ? please, something, anything, one shred of evidence.

When I was younger, I actually admired most "believers" because then, religion was viewed as one's PERSONAL relationship with God and wasn't forced onto others. Boy those days are long gone.....

Stop blaming yourself, your lack of faith in the past...it doesn't help you or your family in the present and the future.
I do you know that if you converted into a Christian, your husband would still be living??? Cancer/death come to Christians and non-Christians alike. God was not punishing you or your husband because you lacked faith. As a medical chaplain, I can tell you, many, many practicing Christians still have the addiction of smoking.
I would encourage you to celebrate your life of faith and freedom and stop lying a guilt trip on yourself. In accordance with Christ's promise of eternal life...you will see your husband again in heaven.
Remember...God doesn't promise any of us a life of roses or as the song puts it "I never promised you a rose garden..."
