The fact that the good ole'boys club there are Catholic men is noted not just by myself. Indulge me, and allow a generalization its truthyness. Systemic obstruction of justice is showing itself as a component of Church Culture, Sports Culture, and State Prosecutor culture.

Idolatry is a sin and yet we continue to idolize and make false models of athletes, celebrities, etc., forgetting that they are only human and contain evil just like the rest of us. Be careful who you choose to 'worship.' There are a lot of Sanduskys in the world and a lot of mesmerized worshippers who will help them hide their crimes.

This is not about football, this is not about a university, this is about vulnerable children whose lives have been ruined, and hopefully they can get some help to heal and get better.
It is way past time for people to wake up and stop being in denial. We are talking about innocent children being treated worse than animals.

It is imperative that ANYONE who may have knowledge, witnessed, suspects, or may have been harmed by Jerry Sandusky, will speak up and report it to police.

Crimes have been committed, and "ALL" who enabled and covered up his crimes need be held accountable too.
This is the only way to protect kids today.
The victims are extremely brave and to be commended for taking action to expose the truth about being sexually abused by Jerry Sandusky. This is not an easy thing to do, but keep in mind silence only hurts, and by speaking up there is a chance for healing, exposing the truth, and therefore protecting others

Penn State has a four billion dollar budget. The families of victims should hit them where it hurts--in their pocket.

They should also go after the McQuade Blasko law firm that represented the Second Mile program up until the evening that Paterno and Spanier were fired. Mr. Courtney's firm helped get the charges in 1998 dropped. That firm has helped Penn State cover up and evade prosecution in many different kinds of criminal and unethical activities.

The federal government should confiscate their files. It is a federal offense to travel across state lines with the intent to commit a sex crime.

If you witnessed a co-worker doing this to a ten year old child (read the indictment for horrible details. on the smoking gun website.), would you just turn around and let it continue? Would you think you'd fulfilled your responsibility by just telling another co-worker? Nope! You should stop it that second and go to the police. Instead, Penn State has rewarded this guy by making him head coach, now!

This thing is probably WAY bigger and wider than just Penn State. You have to wonder what Sandusky had on the program that bought their silence.

I agree with you regarding the coach who saw the abuse happening and reported it to Paterno. If Paterno was fired for not doing enough to stop this abuse, I certainly think the one who saw it in the first place should be gone also; not just protected from the public by being sidelined from this week's game. Had he called 911 maybe things would have been different for several young men in later years.
