GOP Strategist Ed Rollins Says Her Resignation Hurts Any 2012 White House Run She Might Be Mulling
- Palin is gone? Good! I got sick of seeing Caribou Barbie's mug pasted on my TV screen. The Republican answer tot he one-hit wonder needs to fade off into the sunset, and never again bother the people of this nation with her nonsense. Republicans are not good for this nation, and her vice-presidency would have been a disaster.
Ahhh yes, and she is blaming the ethics investigations for her early departure. How pathetic! For one thing, in an era where Bush deceived conservatives into thinking they could do whatever they wanted to do, it is good to see the Alaska state legislature inquiring about Palin and her possible wrongdoing. Conservative lawmakers need to know they are not above the law. Also, if the Alaska taxpayers are her concern, all she had to do was refrain from using their money improperly. So typical of a politician to get caught with his or her hand in the cookie jar, then try to play politics. It was not 'politics' that got Palin caught up in this mess; it was her jetsetting her family all over the country on the campaign trail, having her sister's ex terminated from his job for no reason other than she no longer liked him, etc. These possible violations needed to be investigated. If Caribou can't take the heat, she did right to get out of the kitchen... - Reply to this comment
- Will someone please specifically describe what characteristics Sarah Palin possesses that would make her a good choice as POTUS? I'm serious! Exactly what?

- Who cares what Sarah Palin does? She is just a small town, self promoting rookie thrown into the spotlight by an impulsive "maverick". Let her fade away as she should. Why does stupidity seem to be a prerequisite for conservatism?

- First impressions are lasting and I don't think Sarah Palin can undo the massive political damage. Not rich by todays standards, Sarah Palin has obviously shed the Alaska Governors job to fill her coffers without restrictions by being paid for speaking engagements leading up to the next political contest and to get back to wearing those expensive clothes she was forced to return given to her by the Republican machine. Sarah Palin had one Achilles Heel but now she has two! First, her husband Todd was a 7 year member of the Alaska Independence movement whose Charter is to break away from the United States, Sarah Palin continues to lie about her husbands membership and participation. Next, she is now viewed as a quitter by resigning as Alaska Governor 18 months before her term ends because the going got rough and would probably resign and quit if elected President as well. Sarah Palin can't even cite Governor of Alaska as experience since she will never have completed her term and leaving 18 months early can and will be used against her. Sarah Palin's novelty will continue to wear off and only the 28% Republican base will embrace her which is not enough to win anything, I don't see Independents supporting Palin in large numbers.

- Resigning didn't damage Palin's career, she was able to do that just by opening her mouth

- At least she knew when to get out of politics....

- The only woman who has a chance of becoming President of the United States in the near future is Chelsea Clinton, who will be old enough to run by the time the Obama Administration will be riding off into the sunset between Nov. of 2016 and Jan. of 2017.
I have news for you-she'd win. - Reply to this comment
- I sincerely hope Palin gets the nomination because President Obama will beat her worse than the Nebraska Cornhuskers beat anyone they play in September.

- that was a very long, rambling news conference that seemed to have no direction or point. Palin was incoherent -- is she abusing drugs?

- Seriously, have you ever seen such attention paid to a state governor. Seems like every time a personably, appealing conservative comes along, the media does all they can to focus on their negatives...I wonder why.
Do you think anyone in the media will ask John edwards if hes the father of that child. funny how that story just dropped. - Reply to this comment
- Evertime I read anything on Palin it resorts to laughter and just to think this idiot could have possibly been second in command in running this country - LOL. McCain shot himself in the foot with this whack-job therfore nobody trusted him to make rational decisions - and to think people are still whining about President Obama - too funny!

- With Sarah Palins good looks and blue collar speches, It might be an uphill batle for her. However, She must prove that she is better qualified than the rest of the Republicans. Good luck.

What a silly comment from a cross-eyed evangelical snake-handling *******.
Palin's DONE, honey - won't see her 'round here no more.

- She can go on the rubber chicken circuit and make a ton of money giving speeches. She can raise money for other Republicans. She can be one of the talking heads on cable TV...BUT unless she gets back into the political fray somehow as a political candidate, she will be on the outside looking in.

- Aren't you getting a little ahead of yourself? Obama hasn't even announced yet whether he will even run for the presidency in 2012!

- I'm a Republican and I've read a book! In fact I've read two books recently. They are the Holy Bible and The Case Against Barack Obama by David Freddoso. I highly recommend both of them!

Ladypirate - is there an election on right now? Did Clinton quit halfway through his term for NO reason, as she did?
Bad comparison. Try again
Yes he did quit halfway through his second term as governor and just because Sarah didn't state what her reason for quitting doesn't mean she doesn't have one. Her reason for quitting is her business and no one else's. I think we will soon know what her reason is, though, and I think it will be the same reason that Bill Clinton resigned as governor of Arkansas, to run for the presidency in 2012. I think she will spend time in the next year or so promoting her book and gathering funds for her campaign. Then when she has the funds that she needs she will announce her candidacy and hit the campaign trail full force. I also think she just got tired of the constant bashing that people like you have given her and her family for the last ten months. She needed a break from the relentless ridiculing and hateful snide remarks and the name calling and the stupid idiotic frivolous complaints that are constantly being filed against her that have absolutely no basis or merit. I don't blame her at all for quitting! She stood the abuse a lot longer than most people would have! However there is just so much abuse that anyone can stand. Your goal was finally accomplished. You and people like you set out last September to bring her down and either cause her to resign or cause her to be impeached because she had the audacity to speak out against abortion and premarital sex and she spoke out for Christian values. Liberals like you can't stand it when a politician speaks out for Christianity and Christian values and you liberals will try to bring them down by whatever means possible, and I do MEAN whatever means possible! You will verbally attack their families, you will lie, you will commit libel and slander, and you will file silly frivolous complaints. Nothing is beneath you to do and you did all of it to Sarah Palin and the Palin family. I hope you are happy because you finally accomplished you goal! I have a feeling, though, you won't be laughing much longer! - Reply to this comment
- Did you say the same when Bill Clinton quit his job as governor of Arkansas? I doubt it!

- I'm almost sorry that her chances for the GOP nomination in 2012 look so dim. If she got it, Obama could shoot her down like a SAM aimed at the Hindenburg.
(might be a future for her on a Led Zeppelin album cover, though) - Reply to this comment
