Is that the new leftist policy? The new realist one where we turn our backs on all countries trying to throw off a tyrannical government, (soon to a neighborhood near you). That's why your a leftist not a "liberal" as you et. al. like to call yourselves.
Funny too how I've been telling all of you idiots for YEARS that the Iranian people are much more "Western Friendly" than you Fox News watchers believe, but you guys ALWAYS told me that ALL of Iran was the problem.
It takes a revolution by MILLIONS of people to enlighten you, and slap you in the face with reality.
Sad really.
More towards 'pathetic', actually. - Reply to this comment

Who is turning their backs on anyone? Did you even LISTEN to the Ayatollah's speech the other day? He is DESPERATELY trying to tie America to the revolution, and painting us as an evil, underlying influence on the whole process, and trying to paint the regime as a victim of "the American Empire".
Obama is handling the situation PERFECTLY by deliberately keeping us out of it, letting the regime know that the WHOLE PROBLEM, is their problem alone, and that it has NOTHING to do with America.
This is how we should have been handling these types of situations for decades.
I'm still waiting for a response though: WHAT should Obama do or say, that is going to change the situation in the favor of the protesters, while making it look like America IS NOT meddling in Iran's internal affairs, victimizing the regime?
Do you REALLY think if he says, "We stand behind the Iranian people", that the Revolutionary Guard is just going to lay down it's weapons?
You're too busy listening to the party of "Oppose Obama!, Oppose Obama!, Oppose Obama!" rather than thinking rationally and logically. - Reply to this comment
- Sure, just as soon as you publish your 'arrest' record.
I am sure that it is as relevant as papers that the senate and house have seen but you haven't.
Don't you think that if there was anything there out of order that the Repugs wouldn't have jumped all over it two years ago. (Oh! I forgot, you know more than anyone else,) - Reply to this comment

Obama needs to grow a pair.
For the tenth time, exactly WHAT should Obama do or say, that is going to change the situation in the favor of the protesters?
Do you think if he says, "We stand behind the Iranian people", that the Revolutionary Guard is just going to lay down it's weapons?
You Fox News watchers are really, REALLY stupid, and that's being kind. - Reply to this comment

President Obama has already made the U.S. a foil for Iran - every more the President makes is designed to either snub Israel, or turn our back to them.
Perfect!!!
It's about time an American president did the right thing!!! - Reply to this comment

Obama sits on the sidelines, and allows Iran to slaughter its own people in the streets, with nary a word - for fear of making the U.S. a "foil" for the Iranian regime.
Meanwhile, Iran makes the U.S. a "foil", anyway.
Notice just how quickly Obama went from world leader - to irrelevant.

So according to you, "glasnost" and "perestroika" were "face saving leftist spin terms", and they ended the Soviet Union, but Reagan gets credit for winning the Cold War, even though he wasn't a leftist?
I think your "neo con history book" is broken, and needs to be replaced with an ACTUAL history book.
hungry1968-15
You can always know when you have a leftist on the ropes, because they pathetically try to spin their way out.
So Hungry your saying that Reagan invented the words "glasnost" and "perestroika"?
Those were American capitalist democracies term's ("glasnost" =freedom of speech.....) and ("perestroika" =private ownership............. (capitalism)) ?????? LOL
No dummy.
I'm saying that Reagan didn't have anything to do with ending the Soviet Union. That honor belongs to Gorbachev.
And why in the world would American capitalists create RUSSIAN WORDS, instead of just using the English translated words?
You're very, very confused. I blame it on the "Neo Conservative World and American History Book, Revised Edition 6,538", that was published at the GOP book binding factory, and sold by "LieALot Industries" - the current owner of Fox News. - Reply to this comment

Obama can offend and speak out against Israel, a long time ally. But he doesnt want to offend his "Muslim Brothers" as he said in his book that he would choose them if he has to. This is the real Obama.
Israel is no more an ally of the US, than Pakistan or Iran are. - Reply to this comment

- "Bearing witness" is a lot like voting "present": It avoids addressing the critical issue itself, and avoids commitments to a clear position that may result in criticism.
He is still campaigning, albeit globally; and that's not really what is needed at this time. - Reply to this comment

- I don't understand why CBS News is transcribing Obama's regional or generational speech patterns as if there was some literary merit in recording them. "Wanna" is clearly 'want to'. They didn't do that with Bush, despite his wholesale slaughter of the language. I never saw 'nuculer' in their transcriptions of his press conferences or interviews.
