He is making a distinction between female underwear and swim wear? I have daughters and I do the laundry at our house. I have noticed that, unless the swimsuit is a one piece, swimsuits frequently have fewer square inches of material than underwear. As a parent I object to this Adult Male painting every girl he sees as a potential sexual deviant by the square inches of bare skin he can ogle.

It wont be long before they make enough laws to put every citizen in prison, government has already figured out how to waste all our retirements while rolling up a huge one for themselves.......It would appear that every single level of government is in reality just a huge parasite that feeds off of people with no regards to the peoples wishes who put them into office and pay their salaries...........It amazes me that the people of this country have ANT faith left in our government......they criticize the people and blame US for the economic mess.......when every single bit of the mess can be traced right back to lobby dollar tainted legislation from BOTH parties over the last 45 years. One of the largest lobby dollar pushed packages has been......private prisons,,,,to house all the people they find guilty of ANYTHING they can charge you with.......Welcome to America,,,a true POLICE STATE.

Mr. Scum-anick did almost nothing but talk about how the laws should allow him to continue his (********) persecution-er I mean prosecution of these girls.

He did not mention how it makes any moral sense that an 11 or 13 year old girl can be ARRESTED and possibly put on the sex offender's list for taking pictures of herself?!?!?!

Child pornography and other such laws have been put in place to defend these girls (and boys). To keep people with ill intentions from taking advantage of our naive youth.

Which is exactly what Mr. Scum is doing. He's taking advantage of young kids and scaring them into accepting "a way out" to make his resume look better.

All of you parents who left comments against the attorney(s) are OUT OF YOUR MINDS to think what these kids are doing is ok. What part of pornographic don't you understand!!

Have any of you actually logged into facebook, myspace etc and just hppened to come across these photos of YOUR kids?? Whether they be girls or boys stripping down to nothing/almost nothing, touching themselves in obscene ways etc ALL of this is SO WRONG!!! And how did you feel about finding such photos??

Take the DA@M phones away and spend time with your kids, having fun, and I'm not talking illicit fun either. How about opening the school books and learning things other than presenting KIDDY PORN on websites. How about that! Next you'll all be wondering how and why your girls get raped and blaiming the public for that too - YOU PEOPLE are as SICK as your KIDS ARE!!!

So, who did these kids hurt by posting these pictures? Who's quality of life did they degrade? It's pretty obvious the issue here is that this DA has too much time on his hands, and he needs someone to harass. The intent of the Law is to protect us from others, not to protect us from ourselves. It's true these girls might have hurt themselves a little by posting their pictures, however, this is the kind of thing that needs a nice little parent-child talk, where the parent explains why this kind of behavior can be dangerous. It is not something warranting judicial action, or criminal "punishment". If a DA wants to protect me from someone else, I appreciate their efforts. However, I don't need to be protected from myself. The same applies to these kids.

Believe it or not, the thing I used to like about the conservative movement back in the Reagan days, was that they had a "hands off" approach to government. However, that's taken an about face with the rise of the "Conservative Christians", who want to protect me from myself, and secure my "eternal salvation". These are the kinds of things that would have fallen more under a "liberal aganda" back in those days. But the liberals are now the new conservatives, and a lot of the old liberals are now joining the old guard conservatives, saying "leave me alone!" It's interesting to watch people and parties exchange platforms, positions, and roles. But they insist on keeping the same name. So, in other words, the words "conservative" and "liberal" have merely been re-invented, and have merely switched roles. I guess the best way to put it is this: "liberals" and "conservatives" have a lot more in common than they have differences.

District Attorney George Skumanick Jr. is doing the work of the RELIGIOUS POLICE, at YOUR expense. Religious nuts would have us become like Saudi Arabia.

The religious determination to see the world as evil and ugly has made the world evil and ugly.

How is a lawsuit against a DA possible?

DA's enjoy something called 'absolute immunity'. Look it up on wikipedia.

Simply put: you cannot "sue" a DA for ANY reason.

Weird.

These kids were DRESSED,at least as well as underage pop stars.
WHOCARES?
What sick perverted christian nut started this mess??

THEY HAVE A PERVERTED MIND whoever it was!

No I do not think young kids doing this, nor those experimenting with sex and just being kids, should be labeled a sex offender and potentially their lives ruined before they start. But, if they are able to be charged with a sex crime and labeled a child molester, then why not for producing and distributing child porn? Maybe when a lot of kids are caught up in this mess, then the legislature will see the mess they have created! Just look at the tons of articles at the link provided.

...it reminds me of a 25 year old rape case dismissed by the 'judge' who decided that the 'victim' was dressed ... too provocatively. [ If we were a moral society, we could all walk around nekked. ] Society's laws are supposed to protect, not be used as ways for inept unknowns to gain attention, or bring monetary purpose for a district's treasury.

While I agree that the practice of sexting is potentially damaging to the perpetrator's future, and hence would normally support the shock tactics of altruistic officials to discourage it, I am nonetheless totally opposed to the use of draconian child porn laws for such cases. This is because, in a quasi police state like the US, unthinking, dispassionate officials don't know where to stop and will relentlessly prosecute these poor girls even when the shock tactic of charging them has had the desired effect and discouraged them from the practice.

The shame is that a man is trying to further his career by exploiting these teens. He is no better than a pornographer, but hidden behind the guise of false moral righteousness. It would be interesting to see what is on his computer or hidden in that special place somewhere in his house.

As for the girls, that matter should have been handled by their parents if it was indeed not something done in innocence. If it was not done in innocence then the parents should be giving out the punishment, not a man doing to get his name national attention.

An adult can not project their corruption on to innocence and call it corrupt. For Adults to call these girls ***** by assumption is absurd.

Furthermore, when our society goes nuts and publishes tens of thousands of picture of Britney and Paris getting out of 'that car' and our children hear of this, what type of message are we sending to them? Peewee Herman's career was destroyed by an act no one saw, yet Paris and Britney's careers go on after an act that everyone saw? Britney's target audience is teenage girls, maybe that is why Britney's career goes on... Just google teenage porn and see what comes up. That is the real problem.

Democracy will fall proportionate to when power is obtained by the stupid. It is essential that district attorneys who impose their odd concepts of morality with force be sent back to be farmhands and janitors, and police officers who have no empathy with public distress, as in the cop who thought a red light more important than seeing one's dying mother ... should not get administrative leave, but permanent leave sans retirement benefits...send emails to your political reps, it helps! they respond to 'masses'...

When you have a country where the prison system is privatized and run like a business, just like any business its goal is to grow. And when you have a country where politicians get most of their campaign contributions from businesses, these politicians will obviously work for the benefits of those businesses.

Yes, our privatized prison system is a growth industry. They need more people in the system.
