- What an awesome testimony of forgiveness. I know that from reading some of the other blogs that people have a soured idea of Christians and how they act--and I'm sorry for that. We're not all perfect--that is for sure and that is all the more reason why we need a Savior in Jesus Christ. But, whatever you believe, I'm just so glad to hear Cindy's story and to know that she has so much peace from her relationship with Christ---I wish her the very best and our prayers have definitely been with her and her girls.
And, I too, will be praying for the ultimate peace for this man who killed Pastor Fred.

I am so thankful for my faith and the relationship with God I've found through Christ. - Reply to this comment

- Let me rephrase my thoughts, I think it's okay to have your so called faith in a mystical being , human need to believe in something in order to survive. Think about it if it weren't for Christians bringing their gospel to Africa there never would have been slavery in America. The captives had to believe there was gonna be deliverance or they would have chosen to die instead of the long hardship that came., faith surely played a role there. Don't get me wrong I am inspired by her ability to forgive and smile about her ordeal and continue to spread her beliefs it's just like the muslims and every other religious nut bag on the planet they all believe in some form of the same story that was carved on the Egyptian walls in stone. The Bible is a great book and I enjoy it's tales and lessons that have been collected and passed down throughout the ages. I also enjoy it's striking closeness to astrology .

- For one, my pastor does not shout. Two, we gather together to praise God and learn. The Bible says not to forsake the gathering of yourselves. Not all pastors are rich. I have lived long enough as a Christian to know that some churches uphold what the Bible teaches, and some do it for self gratification. Do not judge all Christians by your standards. Why don't you actually talk to people like Cindy Winters from the article and you will see what a true Christian is like. Forget about the church building, the money, and whatever else you associate believers with. It's the heart matter that really counts. I'm just sorry that more Christians don't show loving, giving attitude that separates us from everyone else. Then maybe you would see it's not merely external, but down deep inside.

- Many in and out of the Christian faith have discovered the power that forgiveness has to bring freedom from the destructiveness of bitterness and hatred.
I?ve certainly experienced it. - Reply to this comment
- Oh my gosh! This is totally going no-where...this is not about money at all.
I am just going to pray at this point for all of the skeptics writing in on this blog.
Ridiculous! Just accept Christ and get REAL! - Reply to this comment

I'll second that hope. There's no reason anyone should try to deny this woman her faith, even if they disagree with it. It isn't hurting anyone if her faith is helping her through. - Reply to this comment
- So all you folks out there knocking the pastor's wife....your in favor of the death penalty for this guy...
Probably not I suspect....you just want to rant and rave against God.
That's ok...God loves you too! - Reply to this comment

You believe only what your physical eyes sees, not what comes by faith. We believers- and I emphasize belivers of the Bible and Jesus Christ - have experienced in our heart the change that comes from knowing him. No amount of denying the existence is going to change that, religion that kills for religion's sake is not what Jesus taught. It is coming close to the end of age, and Satan will do everything in his power to see that people believe like you do. At the end, when you actually meet God face to face, you will have no excuse, because you refuse to believe. - Reply to this comment
- Believe what you will. Cindy believes differently and is comforted by that belief. It is not your place to judge her (or anyone else's, for that matter) understanding and knowledge of the supernatural. And people call Christians closed-minded...

- jymac...
not so sure about that....even other "holy" books acknowledge that Jesus existed and lived and died and was resurrected....better do a little more research.
And until you are saved and gain the amazing power of the Holy Spirit you cannot tell me that Christ didn't exist.
It is an experience...an amazing one too! You should try it sometime...I call it my "Jesus high"
Read "A Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel...he was atheist when he set out to prove Christ didn't exist...and on his journey to disprove...he found Christ DID exist and wrote this amazing book. - Reply to this comment
- I think you all are crazy and have no idea of the idiocy of what you believe. She is comforted by friends and family love. Ideology is a false wall she is hiding behind. Wake up people there is no such person called Jesus the son of God. There is no proof of this man anywhere except in an edit and published book called the bible.

- Speculation is allowed, so long as it's not presented as fact...I appreciate the gratuitous "perhaps"es.
The reality is that Pastor Fred was one of the best examples of a husband and father I ever knew. - Reply to this comment

I don't think so...this case is too personal for me, and I know this is not so.
Do not speculate. - Reply to this comment
- "I think forgiveness can certainly help people with their healing, but this only happened a week ago. I'm concerned that she is not letting herself go through all of the natural emotions in the grieving process."
I was at the visitation and funeral - the grieving process is running its due course. However, Cindy has the support of an entire community to lean on, as well as the knowledge that Pastor Fred is happier now than he ever was here.
tootall1014, you're running very close to slandering a friend of mine. When making comments, be aware that the people you discuss are real and have friends and family who read these things. - Reply to this comment
- I just read through all of the posts.... I am sooo sorry that tootall feels this way. Through the transforming power of Christ I pray that tootall will see the truth. So sad. Romans 2:12
"Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind"
Also...Matthew 5:44 "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you"
I am loving Cindy and Terry, and praying for you tootall. as THIS is what Christ commands.
Get into the Holy word and you will find the truth I promise...it is an amazing roadmap in which to live by. - Reply to this comment
- What an amazing story of forgiveness...I attend a nearby church and my pastor is a friend of theirs. Cindy has handled this with such grace and mercy.
As the Bible teaches "Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow." 2 Corinthians 2:7
I also heard one time that "the inability to forgive is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die" - Ed Young
Bless Cindy, the girls and anyone else touched by this horrific event. YOU ARE loved...May the love of Christ surround you all and Terry as well... Christ will draw Terry to Him. - Reply to this comment
- This is a true testimony to the healing power of forgiveness. I really wish others like the Ron Goldman family could experience this healing. There is a wonderful book out that illustrates like no other how forgiveness does heal a person; it is entitled THE SHACK, and it goes completely "outside the box" to teach this truth.
My sincere condolenses to this family, and may their faith in God continue to sustain them through the rough days ahead. - Reply to this comment
