After Rescue, Bonuses Still Flow At AIG

********

Well of course !

Lobster & Martini lunches, and naturally the Congressional Democrats are invited.

You can also bet there will be real nice gifts sent to Congressional Democrats from the U.A.W. too.

Its nice to bail everyone out and be a hero, sadly it is at the taxpayers expense.

Morons.

THIS MESS STARTED A LONG TIME AGO. IT WAS GOING BEFORE BUSH AND BEFORE BILL CLINTON.. NEITHER ONE OF THESE MEN DID A THING TO STOP THIS MESS.

THE CAR COMPANY BUSINESS MESS STARTED SO FAR BACK, THAT I CAN''T REMEMBER WHEN. THE BIG MONEY PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY HAVE BEEN IN THE BACK POCKET OF THE J.A.P. CAR COMPANIES OVER THE YEARS GETTING ALL OF THE MONEY THEY COULD.

OUR CAR COMPANIES HERE IN AMERICA ARE MAKING SOME PRETTY GOOD CARS NOW... ALL THEY ARE ASKING FOR IS TO BE LOANED SOME MONEY.. LETS GIVE THEM A CHANCE.

No one is indispensable, particularly when you''ve got tens of thousands of people being laid off from Wall Street and financial firms every day," Cummings said.

What about the 537,000 + laid off in November??? I missed the November deadline for beng laid off. I was fortunate enough to be laid off on the 5th of December instead.

Gee, let the bonus eligible people just quit. Where are they going to hire them with AIG on their resume?

This goes all the way back to the 2000 vote. When you idiots voted Bush into office you voted for no regulation, back door payoffs, graft, and all the other illegal actions which are representative of this administration. The only bad thing this Congress did was to accept ANYTHING this administration said without absolute proof. Bush and his goons pushed through the $700 BILLION bailout with the premise that if action wasn''t taken IMMEDIATELY the financial health of the entire world would be decimated. Well guess what HE LIED AGAIN!!! The past eight years have been nothing but lies and deception.
BUT I DIDN''T VOTE FOR HIM!!! And those of you who did should be ashamed for the damage your votes allowed him to do to this country. People tried to warn you repeatedly and you never listened. Wall Street should have been allowed to crash and burn. Maybe all of you that have your pensions tied up in stocks would finally get the message and you could feel some of the suffering your actions have inflicted upon the rest of the country.

I think Khrushchevh said it best : "One day, Americans will wake up and discover that they live in Communism."

Is anyone awake yet?

So so true. I am impressed; people are starting to wake up. SLOWELY. But waking up.

Thats what happens when you give money to crooks....they steal it. When you give money to Congress they only steal some of it and give the rest away to their crook friends. It''s time to kick this congress out of Washington!

$700 BILLION thrown to these greedy bas*ards with no guarantees, no written agreements, nothing. And no one will do anything to stop these guys from continuing to do this stuff.
The auto industry is asking for a fraction of this money and even when they agree to sign their companies away to the government they still can''t get any funds to rescue them. The auto industry spins off millions of jobs compared to the thousands associated with Wall Street.
People contact your legislators and raise he!!. Its time something was done.

EVERYONE SHOULD BE ON THE PHONE EVERY DAY TO THEIR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES TELLING THEM HOW THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FEEL ABOUT THIS MONEY GIVE AWAY TO THE LIKE OF AIG...

IF WE CAN GIVE THEM MONEY WE SHOULD BE HELPING OUT THE CAR COMPANIES. AND LETS MAKE A REAL GOOD START WITH SENDING THE D.A.M.N. J.A.P.''.S AND THEIR CARS HOME TO JAPAN. AND LET THEM STAY THERE UNTIL THE AMERICAN CAR COMPANIES GET THE SAME BREAKS IN JAPAN AS THEY DEMAND HERE IN AMERICA..

This development is truly REVOLTING! This type of corporate behavior could easily escalate into REVOLUTION by the middle class. Does it seem surprising to anyone that the Greedy Old Party has been in power for 8 years...and now this assault on the workers confirms their enormous thirst for power and wealth. Throw all the bums out NOW!

Our congressmen and women are not thinking about their constituents. They just hand over billions with a "good old boy" handshake. This is insane, but sadly, pretty much expected.

The company has told 168 employees they''ll receive between $92,500 and $4 million per individual if they stay with the company for one year.
--
This is an absolute ludicrous in light of the fact that it''s OUR money they are simply giving away.

Unemployment is at record levels and these morons think they have to bribe employees to stay on?

Utterly absurd.

This is insane. None of the top talent at AIG are going to stay there if they have a competitive job offer from somewhere else. What good is a bonus when there''s a big question that your job won''t even be around anyway because the firm is likely to fail. All these retention bonuses do is bonus people who were planning on staying until the bitter end anyway, and for people who are leaving, it simply means their new employer will offer them a bigger bonus to come to the new firm.
If these really were legitimate then AIG would require anyone wanting a retention bonus to have a written job offer from a competitor in-hand, before getting the bonus.

No more bailouts! Let the system work ... don''t prop it up, don''t reinvent it, don''t nationalize it. Let it work.
