Hate crime laws are unnecessary. The two guys who beat him to death are in prison where they deserve to be.
They did an interview with ABC news a few years ago. They do have remorse for what they did, and they also said they didn''t kill him because he was gay. They said they were drunk and it was a robbery gone bad. The crime didn''t have anything to do with Shepard''s sexual orientation.
hey could be put into separate units, maybe one company in each battalion, or maybe one whole division could be gay. *** and lesbians. - runningralph
It''s positive thinking I guess, but that is still segregation because they are in their own unit. It may look as if the Army feels that the gay community in the army is unable to serve along side other people so they have to have their own unit. I agree things need to change though.
patsy_owens wrote: "WHAT WOULD THE McCAIN-PALIN CAMPAIGN SAY ABOUT MATTHEW SHEPARD??? " .... the same thing the Obama-Biden Campaign would say ... didn''t you see the VP debate? ... Biden was as lame about same-*** marriage as McCain-Palin are!!!!!!!!
It is still hilarious to me that religious people hate homosexuals so much, when they are so much alike where it counts. Believers and homosexuals (and guys who think they are Napoleon) have all managed to convince themselves of something which is utter nonsense, and for which there is no evidence at all. Of the bunch the only ones I hate are the Believers, because they''re the ones that pose a threat to others; the rest is harmless delusion.
At one time homosexuals were not allowed in the armed forces. This has changed in recent years. But I still don''t believe they are being utilized to the best advantage. They could be put into separate units, maybe one company in each battalion, or maybe one whole division could be gay. *** and lesbians. They would be treated with respect and honor. In combat, when their backs were against the wall I believe they would fight like tigers. At other times there would be a lot of nasty and perhaps unsanitary things the Arme would have to put up with, but the parades would be spectacular. And they would fight to the last man for the country that honored them.
Please please please try to understand this: Being homosexual is NOT a choice!! A person DOES NOT choose their sexuality. Did you heterosexuals wake up one days and say "Well, this is the day when I choose whether to be gay or straight?" No, your sexuality evolved naturally, the same way it does for gay people. Learn this, know this, believe this, because it is a truth that many of you are still missing.
Believe me, I was raised Church of Christ and Southern Baptist. I was raised to believe that being gay was wrong, sinful, and a choice. But, I am gay. I *KNOW* that I didn''t choose this, and I spent years agonizing over it, praying to God to ''fix'' me, eventually hating myself and coming close to suicide - all because of what I had been taught. No person should ever have to go through that.
It took much searching for me to come to the real Truth, but it is out there. The only choice people have to make is whether they will allow themselves to continue to be brainwashed and be full of hate or if they will put all of that aside and start learning to really love others and understand the REAL message of the Creator.
I love it - "I don''t advocate violence, but..." - When I was 19 in 1978, I had a gun pulled on me. Not for anything I did, simply for who I was. Every time I hear the word "choice" I want to scream - and as far as "pushing this in people''s faces" - yes, we''re pushing - the right for social and economic equality, and the right to be who we are out from under the threat of violence and hatred. Until you''ve walked in someone''s shoes...
In my postings earlier, the *** have been put there by the system for the word G*A*Y*. Wow! Isn''t that ironic? That word is now considered a bad word. It truly has become bad since it no longer means what it did decades ago. Funny how these people can just come along and take something that used to be clean and wholesome and turn it into something totally opposite....much like our society. If you can''t tell, I am so against this lifestyle. I pray for my future grandchildren when I am gone and they have no one to teach them right from wrong any more because by then the schools will have full control of everything they learn. The time will come when parents will no longer have any say over what their children can and cannot learn. I pray to God that if they ever do this, that they would repent before they die.
