It''s not just about them marrying girls under the
age of 18.

It''s legal in Texas for a child of 16 to marry with the parent''s permission. I wonder why the interviewer did not inform them of that?

And for the person who suggested that "the law in Texas is wrong," the law in Texas is nothing out of the ordinary. It''s the law that is in place in most state, and it''s pretty much in line with what is in place in Europe and most other parts of the world.

It''s more about sexual and physical
abuse of children. A 13 year old who is pregnant
is wrong no matter what religion you are.

Yes perhaps. But the degree of wrong it is and who is accountable is what is at issue. For example, they did not say how old the person was who got the girl pregnant. For all we know at this point, it could have been a boy of 13 or 14.

And what inner city neighborhood does not have a child in it who has gotten pregnant at age 13? Is that a reason to take all the children away from all of the parents in the neighborhood.

This isn''t justice, it''s a witch-hunt.

They have let these people get away with this pedophile religion/cult for to long. The law should be the law and not made for people who claim there religion is why they are breaking it.As far as them saying they don''''t know it against the law to have sexx with an under age child. Be real here !! Take the children and at least try to give them a chance at a normal life. Charge them with rape of underage children. There not morally clean they are perverts who pray on children and have got away with it for way to long.Don''''t let them hide behind the excuse it is a religion let them hide behind bars in prison.

I wonder how many people regard these men as perverts? It''s not a word I see used but it''s the way I think of these people.

Coast to Coast AM radio show Sunday night had a guest named Irene Spencer, who was a polygamist married to her brother in law. She told it like it was for her and it was a captivating three-hour interview. She has a book "Shattered Dreams: The Life of a Polygamist''s Wife" that looks like it''s worth reading and will be on my next Amazon order. Her book moved from #65,000 to #314 overnight.

All I can say, is now that Texas has "liberated" these women and children, now they can enjoy the world of Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan, Madonna, Gangsta Rap, Porn on the internet and Viagra commercials during prime time on TV. Now they can be as screwed up as the rest of us.

The concern that is uppermost in my mind is the deadly disease some of the polygamist carry via the gene pool. As a Canadian nurse the thought has been overwhelming that we have FLDS groups here that probably will never be tested. Since it only requires a simple urine sample testing it is easily accomplished. However because of their hidden agendas regarding solitude and disregard, in the most part, for democracy on all levels, this testing will never be done. For more information, as of two months ago, www.wikipedia.org now carries fumarase deficiency disease. Google carried only two websites, as of a year ago, now has 2,660.

Excellent question asked in an earlier post:

If Polygamy is illegal, why haven''t any of the men been arrested? Will they be? This is something that the media should investigate and follow througn on.

ccdsswrkr08,

It''s cool - looking at it I can see I wasn''t as clear as I normally like to be.

I hope that the DNA they are gathering from the "men" (any person that has *** with a child is not a real man as far as I am concerned) helps them to put some (if not all) of these guys away for statutory rape. Others should go to jail for polygamy. As I stated before, Texas law does allow for minors as young as 14 to marry, and that NEEDS to be CHANGED - but in the meantime use the fact that these people did NOT follow the proper procedure and PUT THEM AWAY. The Mothers should be arrested as well, for not protecting their children. Then, hopefully, this whole mess will also provide the kind of spotlight on the issue of child marriages necessary to get Texas''s outdated and immoral marriage laws changed as well.

But I did want to point out to the people that keep saying "marrying someone younger than 18 is illegal" that they are wrong. It SHOULD be illegal, but in most states it is not. The Irony of this case is that Texas has one of the WORST set of laws in this matter.

You people still don''t get it do you ? These young girls don''t decide. READ MY LIPS....THESE GIRLS ARE FORCED INTO MARRIAGE TO OLD MEN...THESE CHILDREN ARE RAPED...THE YOUNG BOYS ARE SODOMIZED AND MOLESTED AS WELL AND THEN FORCED OUT OF THE GROUP IF ORDERED BECAUSE OF COMPETITION FOR THE YOUNG GIRLS... WARREN WAS THE WORST PEDOPHILE.THE CHILDREN ARE BEATEN..NOT JUST BY THE MEN BUT THE MOTHERS TOO.IF YOU TRY TO ESCAPE YOU CAN HAVE YOUR THROAT SLIT...BLOOD ATONEMENT...OR...BLAH...BLAH...BLAH..I THINK MORMONS NOT JUST FUNDAMENTALISTS ARE BARBARIC,RACIST AND TOTALLY STEALING OUR TAX DOLLARS.I am a single mother of three who has raised all three of my children alone and has payed taxes for the last thirty yrs. so these *** can claim religious freedom. I''m so pissed right now at out politicians. I guess alot of them must be Mormons.
