Hill and O sponsored a bill to cut it back but it''s useless unless the Democrats get some power.....and were''s the mention of that in the story?

Sharyl Attkisson is a GOP tool......

Hey y''all, most of these politicians are the same. It don''t matter what party they belong to. They just feed us all this bull *** so they can stay in office. We are the peasants. They are the kings and queens.

Hellooooo...

The comments on Iraq are STUPID with regard to earmarks.

Obviously you didnt listen to the comments on the TV or you dont understand earmarking, and you certainly dont understand lawmaking.

Any money that has gone to Iraq has been in LEGISLATION and it has becomes LAW!!! Earmarks are not law...they are not in legislation...they are in REPORT LANGUAGE which does not have the force of law. That is why they are bad. They have had NO hearings, NO oversight and are decided by seniority, party, and committee membership.

Are you sayin spending on Iraq spending has had no oversight?? No hearings??? Paleeeze.

Learn your facts before you comment.

liberalme, can''t beleive your still clinging to the impeachmnet thing. Don''t you know that was all lies spoon fed you naivens in order to take the majority last election cycle? If your Dem majority had any real evidence of wrong doing, especially after their countless investigations, those proceedings would have already started. Even if thier majority is not enough to actually impeach they would be making a statement for the history books and their constituents. In order for you to wake up to the adult world of reality you must remove the those hateful ideological blinders.

"And First Tee is overseen by a group with a contingent of executives pulling in healthy, six-figure salaries."

Because there is a nice little tax write-off for participating in non-profits for these guys. How come we didn''t hear about that???

Keep up the otherwise good job, Sharyl.

Not all earmarks are ''''pork''''. Most people support projects in their own states, it''''s when it happens in another state, it becomes ''''pork''''. If not for ''''earmarks'''', a lot of federal help for the gulf coast region after hurricanes Katrina & Rita would not have arrived. Yes, reform is needed, but we''''ll never see the end of so called ''''earmarks''''. Posted by nolalou

Earmarked money has been sent to New Orleans and Louisiana for over three decades, yet the state and city officials have wasted that money on their own projects rather than the levees. So the answer is to blame the Army Corps of Engineers. LOL

Whatever will you do with your time and who will you blame for all your troubles next year if a democrat gets elected this fall? Wake up! All our politicians are failing us!!!

Hopefully we''ll be watching trials for Bush Cheney Rumsfield and the rest of the garbage in Washington on every single charge they are guilty of.

Personally, I''m hoping I can design their prison garb--I have some pretty neat ideas!

All the reason to vote for John McCain for President. He will stop the pork projects and he will help keep America safe from those 3rd world murders !

Most of us know that no President can fix all the problems ! He needs the congress and Senate to get what he wants, like GW had for awhile !!

Go Big John !!

The biggest porker in history is the three trillion dollars being p1$$ed away on the illegal war. How come that didn''t make the list, or wasn''t mentioned in this highly partisan article???

Some people on here actually believe that Bush runs this country by himself. You act as if he singlehandedly passed (or didn''t) pass all the legislation. You seem to think he went to war all on his own accord and that the rest of congress and the senate just twiddled their thumbs while big bad Bush wreaked havoc on the nation. According to your theory, Bush is the reason for soaring gas prices, the reason people got themselves in debt buying houses they couldn''t afford and took out secord mortgages to pay for credit card debt and then ran themselves into debt again. I guess he is responsible for the polar ice caps melting too??? Don''t tell me....Bush is also repressing a cure for cancer so the drug companies can make more money! Whatever will you do with your time and who will you blame for all your troubles next year if a democrat gets elected this fall? Wake up! All our politicians are failing us!!!

"CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson takes a look."

What is she blind in one eye? Are the Dems the only big spenders? Aren''t the Republicans supposed to be the ones with Fiscal responsibility?

Am I going to have to put Sharyl Attkisson on the TOOL FOR THE GOP list......hmmmm..........man like the GOP needs more tools......RUBBER STAMP....

McCain 2008

AGAIN - he realizes there''s enough money being wasted in the middle east. Besides, Ted Stevens more than makes up for most republicans.

For these greedy Congressional sleezebags to refer to earmarks as pork is insulting to the pig. A pig has more and better moral scruples and sensitivity.

"While they both say they want a moratorium, both have a healthy load of earmarks going this year - nearly $300 million worth for Clinton and nearly $100 million for Obama.

Sen. John McCain, the Republican candidate for president, simply doesn''t do earmarks."

notblue - "What further negates that theory is the fact Bill Clinton, while still in office stated the same story. The entire world thought Sadam had them for a number of reasons, he had previously used WMD,.."

Yea Bill Clinton said there were WMDs in Feb 1998, right before he eliminated them with airstrikes. Sp what''s Bush''s excuse?

John McCain, born in Panama, raised in Mississippi and Virginia. Republicons deserve 72 year old Southerner John McCain. America will never send another Southern Conservative Traitor to the White House.
