Girl, 10, Succumbs To Brain Cancer After Inmate Dad Gets One Last Visit
- Oh what a difficult thing this must be for the family. However, much as I detest when the law is misapplied or rewritten to favor the big entities, this is not a case of big entity or government strategy aimed at taking something rightful away from the little guy. This is a case wher a criminal serving time discovered that his child hadn''t much time left. I am sorry for him, but more so for the child. You see, if everyone who had a terminally ill child or loved one waiting on the outside to pass away recieved an early release or special privileges, we''d have a whole lot of special releases now wouldn''t we? Doesn''t that kind of negate the purose of sentencing? Lot''s of prisoner''s have gone to their own mother''s funeral''s in shackles. It''s the cost of being a convict.

- I''m not going to make worthless tacky comments about what it cost to bring the guy to see the girl or about his conviction...
I''m just happy that the kid got to see Daddy one last time... - Reply to this comment
- No credit to Fox News for breaking this story and bringing pressure to bear on the judge and worden to let the man have visitation.
They deserve a BIG humanitarian hand.

The fact that you say it 1st on faux don''t mean that they broke this story ..... get a life. Cheers! - Reply to this comment
- Why not make drugs legal and let them be sold by the government. People that use them are going to use them anyway. Instead of all this money going to drug lords in Mexico it could be used here in the USA. Some of it could be used to pay for health care. Some for schools. Some of could be used to pay for drug rehab. This makes a lot more sense than our War on drugs that is nothing but a big joke.

Thank you. What people don''t realize is that simply by legalizing only marijuana, the "gateway" to more dangerous would be nearly gone. I don''t know many people that went out looking for ecstasy or cocaine.. They were offered them. Not having to be acquainted with drug dealers virtually eliminates the means of getting the "hardcore" drugs. The government could tax the sale of it, while selling it for half the current street value (which is still more than it is sold for in places where it is legal), thus saving "users" money which they would in turn spend on other taxable items. As George W. would say, a "booster shot" to the economy, only without spending/borrowing even a dime.
P.S.
D.A.R.E and organizations that keep KIDS from using drugs are great programs. But once you''re 18 and out of grade school, as an adult, the choice should be yours. - Reply to this comment
- I thought going to prison was a penalty for misbehavior. While I can feel sorry for the child, it''''s hardly the prison officials job nor the taxpayors'''' responsibiltiy to make sure he gets to visit her.
Do you have any idea how much it costs for a transport? Those deputies are on overtime - in multiples - in addition to the travel cost.
I get fed up, too, with bleeding hearts collecting monies for the families of victims. The father made a choice and got caught and went to prison. That''''s his own fault and his own guilt.

Look stupid, they should have a heart and should have let him be with his daughter. How would feel if your mom, dad,or someone you love was going to die but you couldn''t see them as much as you wanted to because it cost to much money for the deputies to work overtime and the traveling cost. She was about to DIE!He was not going to get to see her again until the day that he died and there''s no guarantee he''s going to heaven. Also there''s no such thing as ''''monies'''',it''s money, dumba$$. - Reply to this comment
- What i find to be funny is that this is a moral dilemna. Few will have the same answers.
If this little girl has not been given the horrible hand she was dealt and you found out her drug convicted father wanted out early you all would scream no.
She was very sick and now no longer suffers - but that does not excuse what her father did. I feel for the entire family and will keep them in my prayers.
I hope they all laern form it and when her dad does get out i hope he will think of his poor little girls before he sells, buys or uses again. - Reply to this comment
- I am so glad that Jayci got to see her daddy one more time. Unless we have been there ourselves, we none have the right to dictate what is right and wrong in this situation! I''ve followed this story very closely, phoned the warden and the governor, emailed the White House. I think what everyone did is amazing, the outpoor of compassion from across the nation. Some of us are still humane! I am sorry for the Yaeger families loss and my heart goes out to them! RIP Jayci.

Don''t you think you should try to think before you speak my Fianci is in the Department of Corrections for a prison. He wanted this man to be able to see his daughter; which by the way he did. It%u2019s not anyone%u2019s fault for that man being held back so many times but the systems. Please try to rationalize next time, I%u2019m sure there are my people on here that have connections either to prison guards and/or authority. To attack people that have nothing to do with the situation other than to follow commands is mindless. Thank you for your understanding. - Reply to this comment
