Frankly, I haven''t seen the video but, it the article is accurate then I can imagine how horrible it must look. Why couldn''t the airport authorities help the man''s mother find him? Airports are one the gateways into any country. I would expect airports in a civilised country like Canada to be hiring skilled and polite people to help out confused foreign travelers when they arrive. At the very least, the man''s picture could have been flashed unto monitor screens while a PA put out a general request for anyone who might recognize him. His name (which can obviously found in his passport) could have also been announced. It''s a procedure that even an ordinary supermarket lost and found booth would know. Tasering was not only an unneccesary act, it was a barbarous one as well. "Welcome to lovely Canada! If you are experiencing any confusion or frustration upon your arrival please do not be concerned; you will be duly tasered for our convinience. Thank you and have a ''nice'' day. The tasering was fatal? Ooops... on behalf of our country we apologize."

It was simply a straightforward case of public murder ...

So those vicious Canucks are murdering innocent people at airports? Right after they return some antiwar Americans to face military prison?

They must be reverting to their Loyalist ways.

Where are yourassumus and illogicanada now?

CBS is right, it is "shocking and disgusting."

It''s no surprise that this happened. I am a 65 year-old American woman who was falsely arrested by Immigration Canada at the Toronto airport, imprisoned for 18 days, tortured, and threatened with tasering and death by the guards. The CDN government condoned these acts.

I just feel so badly for the poor Mother...imagine when she arrived to find this tragedy happened.
Seems to me there would have been safer methods to calm and restrain the poor man. Did he have to be dead ?

If you act insane and dangerous, no matter what nationality, you will be treated as if you are insane and dangerous. I would rather be tasered than be hit with clubs, put in a choke-hold or shot, all of which are legal if I am causing problems and being insane and dangerous.

How horrible. The police definitely used the wrong tactics. Whatever happened to "talking down" an upset passenger? Why couldn''t they find this fellows mother for goodness sake. Police seem to only understand how to handle criminals. They aren''t safe for regular people.
