She's not just now telling the truth. Do a Google search using: Lynch Toronto Star
and you'll find a link to a November 16, 2003 article from that newspaper which includes the following:

"This White House believes they can spin their way out of anything and they assume reality will surrender to their spin," says Mark Crispin Miller, a media analyst at New York University.

"In this case, they believed Jessica would play along. But she hasn't. She may not appear self-assertive, but she can clearly tell illusion from reality. Good for her."

What irks him and other analysts is how the American media went along with the fraud for so long.

The Toronto Star's Mitch Potter was one of the first to report the actual facts of the rescue on May 4. The BBC followed up on May 15. But those stories got no traction in the U.S., says Miller. "The media here should have exposed the lie long before they did."

This response is for sumbanker1 from his page 2 comment regarding the "Republican Machine". Exactly what have the "Republican Machine" done to inspire such loyalty from you? Congress (Republicans & Democrats) voted for the war because of doctored (false) intelligence that was (allegedly) provided by the FBI & CIA at the (alleged) encouragment of G. W. Bush! With that being said, I still don't give the Democrats or Republicans a pass because I saw thru that BS, just like Barack Obama did. How did we get from being attacked by Osama Bin Laden & Al Quaeda, who is known to be based in Afghanistan, to fighting a war in Iraq? Riddle me that Batman!

Last I checked or heard, Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11, so why are we there? Where's the Weapons of Mass Destruction? Where's the Uranium from Africa?

On another note, what is wrong with a 5 or 10 day waiting period while a background check comes back before you can purchase a gun? You get at least that much before you can get anything with credit, a job, or even auto insurance nowadays. If a background check was done on Cho, maybe he wouldn't have been allowed to get the gun from that shop & could've alerted the proper authorities to the possible threat that he posed!

Anybody that is used by the administration like she was, deserves "every cent' she got and then some. The Grunts out there deserve it also but they won't get it.

Why is she telling the truth now? Is it because the money and her 15 minutes of fame have run out? With the penchant of the American press to have a perpetual "damsel in distress", Jessica Lynch should be guaranteed 15 more minutes of fame in which she can make the rounds of shows, write another book and have another movie done in which they tell "the real truth".

If she feels so badly that the military and press lied, she should return the loot she gained from their lies.

Why don't the Democrats give George Bush credit? He rescued little Jessie Lynch with his prayers, mighty prayers, then he cam in there with a bible and just struck those sinners dead. And he brought forth the woman, the honest and true little woman, brough her forth as it were from his womb, from his loins.

He slew the heathens, the terrorist Islams with their terrible beards, he did it with his own jawbone, the jawbone of an a-ss.

There should be a movie about it, like passion of the christ, with Mel Gibson playing GWB. Then GWB comes in with his great flaming sword, lowered from the sky under a helicopter, hanging down 10 feet high in a long robe, and he slays the dark-skinned heathens. Christina Aguillera will play Jessica Lynch, she will stop and sing, have Andrew Lloyd Webber write the smarmy tunes.

I blame the media, for all of it. They are the ones that enable people to tell the lies. Ms Lynch, herself placed the primary blame of the falsehoods on the media and the military is blamed for not setting the story straight. The Media was "The First to get the stories out before the Military even gave a formal statement on it. So why is that mentioned in Newsweek but not in this story? The News Media claims they are only after the truth but did they seek the truth out on these stories before reporting them in the first place? no. Look at the Duke case, sure, reveal the suspects but protect the accuser even though she lied about it. WAKE UP PEOPLE! The Media is the problem, here. They make TONs of money and have no culpability.
