Comments on: Judges Apologize To Susan Boyle
On Early Show, They Say Sorry For Judging Her At First By Her Looks, Before She Belted Out Tune That Made Her Famous
- Thank you voxpopulus ! ! ! ! !
It's good to know that not everyone falls for this crap
Some of you are suckers. NO ONE gets on that show without auditions

Those were the auditions summarex and voxpopulus. The actual competition won't take place for weeks. God Americans can be so thick! - Reply to this comment
- summarex, oh course she auditioned but NOT to those three judges. Do you think Simon Cowell listens to every potential singer before they go on the show, idiot.

- I hope the best for Susan. She is entering dangerous waters.
I agree that somebody knew she sang well before that performance which doesn't take away any of her talent. But the show producers knew.

Of couse the producers knew, they are prescreened! But I do agree with you. I hope she doesn't fall victim of being 'glamourize' She'll come out look like Michael Jackson or Pricilla Presley, plastic and frozen.
Hopefully she has a lot of people around her who loves her and will tell her the truth when needed!
Best of the best wishes! - Reply to this comment
- Maybe the producers knew she could sing, but that does not mean they were not above passing her along to Simon and the rest as a surprise. I am sure she sang for someone to get to that stage, but that is okay...she did not sing for the judges unti, she got to that stage and for them it was a very nice and welcome surprise.

- May she win it all, sing for the queen and be able to look at her life with happiness and thanks. She probably already does. In a far too superficial world, she almost makes one have faith in humanity and television.

- I thought Julie Chen's comment this morning about a makeover for Susan Boyle was completely uncalled for and very disrespectful. Susan is a beautiful person and is perfect just the way God made her. Maybe, just maybe, Julie Chen needs a personality makeover. Ponder on that for a while Julie!!

- Please do not under estimate the genes of the Boyle clan. We are very strong.

- I have to agree with ccfchurch. Would they be apologizing if she sang badly? I think not. What they're really saying is that it's okay to look less than perfect if you have talent. If you don't, then you're just an ugly dimwit.

- I have not seen the utube version of this yet but the little bit I did see on the news was WONDERFUL. This world needs more stories like this in our lives. I myself can't wait for Susan Boyle to make her first CD as I will be there to buy it. Thank you all for airing this magnificent event.

- Thomas Gray must have had Susan Boyle in mind when he wrote "Full many a gem of purest ray serene, The dark unfathom'd caves of oceans bear: Full many a flower is born to blush unseen, And waste its sweetness on the desert air. Susan is no longer being wasted unseen.

- This lady has the most amazing voice of anybody I have ever heard since Jim Nabors. I hope she is ready for the world.

- I think this is a lovely story. I also remind myself that there are many many average-appearing people with this same sort of great spirit and soul who do not happen to be blessed with a phenomenal voice. Many of us initially mis-judged Ms Boyle because of her non-movie-star appearance and demeanor, but became fans when we heard her sing. She is now a folk hero , although she is actually the same woman she was a month ago. How great it would be if we recognized and appreciated beauty and heart in everyone regardless of age, appearance, gender, physical ability ... or talent.

- She looks like a middle aged man in drag, BUT, she sings like an angel!
As I recall, some of our greatest singers were not necessarily good looking, by the standards of the day. For an example, Ella Fitzgerald was no beauty and would probably not have made it if it weren't for the help of another not so pretty performer, Louis Armstrong. Modern music is created without regard by corporations / businessman (to use the term loosely). - Reply to this comment

- Piers Morgan's "apology" offends me, as it does not get to the heart of the insult. He says "I think we owe her on apology because it was an amazing performance." The quality of the performance has nothing to do with the reason he needs to apologize. Everyone deserves dignity, regardless of what they can do. If your apology is going to hold any value, please apologize for denying that basic human right, and add lasting value by pledging to avoid future prejudice.

- I have attended funeral services for many dear friends, and the music was very moving. I have never been more moved to actual sobbing, then whenI I heard Susan sing on your Web site. I truly believe her voice is "heaven sent".
