Comments on: Judges Apologize To Susan Boyle
On Early Show, They Say Sorry For Judging Her At First By Her Looks, Before She Belted Out Tune That Made Her Famous
- From what I have seen of this woman she is a gem indeed. It infuriates me that anyone or anybody would want to sing for a queen or king. Bottom line a king or queen is worse than a dictator. Having sex should not be the only prerequisite to power.

- Very seldom do I watch The Early Show, and I only heard about the search for an American Susan Boyle because I happened to land briefly on one of the entertainment shows while channel surfing. I think this search is a ridiculously unnecessary sequel to the real thing. Why can't we just cherish this treasure and respect its uniqueness instead of pursuing this cheesy imitation of it? Don't the people who had this "bright idea" realize that they can't duplicate it? The wonder and magic of this event is that it caught everyone off-guard. And in doing so, Susan Boyle's remarkable performance unmasked perhaps the most enduring of all prejudices: the way people look determines how much others should expect of them.
Just what criteria will The Early Show use to make their cuts? Will the frumpiest-looking person win? Do note that when Susan Boyle won our hearts she was wearing a nice dress and shoes. She was being the best version of herself she could be and therein lies her charm. I think this quest to find her American counterpart is fraught with issues that only reinforce the stereotype and should be abandoned before it begins. - Reply to this comment
- Thank You Susan for all of us who has been picked on and bullied by those that needed someone to pick on and bully due to their own lack of self worth and acceptance.
We can only hope that they too will discover that they also have a beautiful gift to give to the world. We are all priceless!!!

- America, wake up! The UK audence may appear rude to us for age-discrimination but at least they allow 47 year old contestants in their talent show. This woman Susan Boyle (btw my grandma was a Boyle from Ireland) would have been shown the door on American Idol and we would have missed God's proof that angels are among us.
American Idol needs to all contestants of any age in the auditions. We just might get a Susan Boyle surprise on this side of the pond! Eileen Rogers - Reply to this comment
- As a teacher, I love this! I showed this to my fifth grade students and we discussed some important values about not judging people, going for your dreams, etc. Way to go, Susan.!

- Dear Susan and everyone else who is reading this blog,
I cannot write it as eloquently as others have, so I'm not going to try, and by now, you know that we as a society are in awe of you.
My message to everyone, isn't it time we try to accept people for what they are. To stop laughing and smirking behind one's back. Why don't we ( as in each one of us) stop thinking that we are better, smarter, prettier, richer or whatever TODAY.
Susan I applaud you and your gift in and look forward to seeing more often. - Reply to this comment

- When my ailing, depressed mother first saw the youtube cliip of Susan performing, she exclaimed, "This is like medicine for the weary soul! What a representative of God's goodness. It's like the heaven's opened up with this awkward lady! Oh Susan Boyle, would you be my best friend?!"

- It all doesn't matter now. Susan Boyle has the singing career she has always dreamed of. She kept her promise to her mother that she would make something of her life. I've been listening to her powerful rendition of CRY ME A RIVER. Incredible, Just Incredible. That wonderful voice. You go Susan!
