Miss Rhode Island And A Former Miss USA On Real Reasons Her Crown Is In Jeopardy
- molies74621: I know that Donald Trump owns the Miss USA pageant organization but there should be state and federal laws and organizational rules about it that he should have to live by and abide by, too.

- The whole Miss USA pageant organization needs to be investigated! There needs to be a shakedown of it from top to bottom because the whole thing is corrupt!

I agree with you but the Pageant is now privately owned, by Donald Trump. He will do what will bring him the most money and support regardless of the opinion. - Reply to this comment
- There was nothing wrong with expressing the opinion at the contest as she did!
If there was anything wrong, it was with state (?) pageant officials who paid for a b*o*o*b job for her prior to the national contest. And, she violated the morals clause of her contract by posing for---at the minimum---semi-nude pictures that were displayed on the internet!
She's tainted herself! The pageant would be best served by instilling the second-runner up in her place and dropping it---while the pageant has ANY credibility left at all!
I think leaving her as runner-up truly damages any credibility the pageant has remaining!
It better do a better job screening contestants prior to the next contest before it places itself
on the "endangered" event list! - Reply to this comment
- If she loses her crown she should sue every Miss USA pageant official in the whole organization from Donald Trump right on down to the bottom, and least paid one! Her constutional right of freedom of speech has been violated!
First of all she was asked a question that should never have been allowed to be asked! That kind of question should never be allowed in any pageant! She gave her answer and she gave it with intelligence and dignity and grace but she just didn't give the answer that they wanted!
She gave a honest conservative Christian answer and that was not the answer they wanted. They wanted her to lie and say that she thought gay marriages should be legal. That is exactly why she lost the pageant. She was penalized because of her Christian answer and she has been criticized and every gay activist in the country has been out to get her and bring her down ever since! It's crazy! It's just as though we don't have freedom of speech in this country anymore! She has a right to her opinion people! The constitution also gives her the right to voice her opinion without being penalized for it!
I know she should have told the truth about those pictures but that isn't why she lost the competition. She lost because of her answer. It's that simple! Also I don't think she's the only contestant in the Miss USA pageant, past or present, that has lied about having pictures like that in her past! I know of only one, Vanessa Williams, who lost her crown because of pictures like these. I believe there are many more who have pictures like these in their "closet". Why is Miss Prejean singled out?

- She has a right to her opinion, she shouldn't have to go against her beliefs just because other people don't agree. They sure were right when they said that Christians will be condemned for their beliefs, but only the ones that hang fast to them will be rewarded in the end.

- You cannot be a public figure AND a bigot. Doesn't work! Most people support gay marriage. She should have given a neutral answer if nothing else. Now she wants to be some big-shot anti-gay activist? Sore loser, that's what I say.

See that is where you are wrong in making a broad generalization. Most Americans DO NOT support gay marriage, but I guess misqouting facts to back up a beliefe is the norm these days. You can view the polls on omni liberal MSNBC if you do not believe the statement that most Americans DO NOT support gay marriage. - Reply to this comment
- Just because someone believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman does'nt make them a bigot. She stood up for her beliefs and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't see any homosexuals in danger of losing thier job for fighting for thier right to marry. Not taking sides, just making a point.

- Quote Sebastian Michael: "Bottom line: You cannot be a public figure AND a bigot. Doesn't work! Most people support gay marriage."
So everyone who is married is a bigot then? Only reason most people "support" gay marriage is that they don't want to be openly labeled a bigot by people like you. It is far easier to tow the party line by being political correct then it is to stand up for what is right. I seriously doubt that someone like you has any clue about what I am talking about because you?ve never stood against something because it was the right thing to do.
Quote Sebastian Michael: "She should have given a neutral answer if nothing else. Now she wants to be some big-shot anti-gay activist? Sore loser, that's what I say. "
So what?s next, folks like you going to tell the rest of us what to say, what to wear, what to think. Only in California would a contestants merit by judged by a loaded question, where everyone expects the same politically correct answer. This sort of situation is what our country was founded against and it?s why the first settlers left England!!!
As for gay rights... Sure they should have them, but only in-so far as a "legal union" is concerned. This is due mostly to taxes and other civil functions that can only be performed by someone legally related to another individual.
Now outright marriage, this is a touchy subject because it undermines the union between a man and a woman is about. I can tell you that the moment gay marriage will be legal in all 50 states, most marriages wont be worth the paper they?re printed on. Pretty much anyone can contest a marriage at that point, citing the fact that it's no longer a union between an man and woman. The number of women that would be abandoned in this manor will make the current divorce rate seam trivial in comparison. But hey what do you care? just so long as you can live under the false pretence of marriage, screw everybody else. - Reply to this comment
