Some expert. Fleeing the scene of an accident is worth 45 days in jail.

No big deal? Wonder if this reporter would have the same opinion if a loved was hurt in this crash?

bY ALL means, let's wait until she's killed someone before we get serious about making her step up and be accountable! What a crock! It certainly pays to have a really crafty lawyer on your payroll. The whole point of penalties being so tough on drinking and driving is because innocent people get killed in the process. I wonder how the parents of the other two passengers feel about her getting a casual brush with the legal system over something that could have killed them. She's just another rich *** getting special consideration...probably won't even have to appear in court if her PR person explains she's making another movie. Garbage.

"its all gravy till it is his/her own children is hurt or killed by that 'first bite of the apple'

How true. If Mr. Sherman or someone he knows/loves were hit by this drunken, drugged-out little 'ho, he would be singing a different song. I think it is pitiful that the justice system can be bought and sold this way - in the article yesterday, it said her arraignment wouldn't be until late August - you know if it had been you or me, we would still be IN jail (not arrested at the hospital and then turned loose without setting foot in the jail house, because she was "injured") and our arraignment and would be very quick. Seems like out in Hollyweird, they can put the nastiness off for a while - hmmmm, maybe all the fuss will blow over by then, right?

Would sure be nice to get a "get out of jail free" pass like these little pop princesses do all the time - looks like California is overflowing with heroin addicts, drunks & trashy wh**es who make a game out of breaking the laws all the rest of us have to abide by. If you do the crime, you should at least have to serve SOME of the time.

xzavierbrown,

You sound like Rush Limbaugh before he was charged with a crime for being a druggie, which caused him to hire a "left wing[ed] liberal" lawyer to save his butt.

What you are unwilling to understand (likely because of your political blindness) is that Sherman isn't justifying or excusing what will happen to Lohan, he is merely outlining how the system now works, especially for people of privilege, unlike poor minorities whose cause I'm sure you champion.

If you want to stop privileged people from getting this kind of treatment, petition both liberal and conservative politicians, who have created the current system.

Why don't any of these bar owners every get in trouble for serving these underage actors? Who on this planet is not aware that Little Lohan is not old enough to be in a bar?

Liberal-haters amuse me. They probably the biggest dupes on the planet. Brainwashed by their right-wing radio or TV talk show host, they have no idea how the real world operates. They live in a bubble. They are ruining this country because they are the ones who politicians have to suck up to. It is the reason Congress is infested with phony-baloney conservatives (Republicans AND Democrats, by the way) who pretend to care about the working class and then turn around and serve only the ruling class.

All you need is someplace where you can keep reporters and paparazzi out. Isnt that what rehab means? .....hiding out?

Posted by ainttaken at 12:25 PM : May 28, 2007

Actually, you need to be related to a powerful hollywood producer, politician or other well connected person.

If the average Joe Schmuck opened a rehab center, his only clients with be other Joe Schmucks, most without money or employment.

The charges against this pop tart won't amount to much because the judicial system is inherently sexist, and that means that men go to jail and women go to the spa.

I find it interesting that Mickey Sherman thinks that it is no big deal. Didn't she just get out of rehab?

if first responets are always those with the free dare and free shock and awe instead of those with the free food and free medicine, then for how long has civiliazation been conquered, whisked away, and tortured in the names of god and heaven and security?
