Fight Over A Late Flight Ends In A 24-Hour Delay For New York-Bound Passengers
- Why did''nt they just offload all the passengers and continue on their way?
As I understand it they have that legal right, I think they made it a crime not to follow the directions of the flight crew. Certainly I''ve read news where people were ejected from their flights or arrested on landing.
P.S. Where was the air marshall then? - Reply to this comment
- Hostile people? In America? Barbed wire around your hotel? In America?

- but to add insult to injury their luggage went to LaGuardia airport, 12 miles away."
LOL bet that was no accident, it was done on purpose.
I''d be pissed too if Im sitting there an hour and 15 minutes waiting on the dam crew to show up!
I dont know why anyone puts up with all this airline, delay, preci skrewing, eliminating meals/snacks and security BS krap any more. - Reply to this comment

Good luck with that. They have great lobbyists working for them. They''ll be back for more when the time is right. - Reply to this comment
- Pilots no longer get the respect they so much deserve.

How about people just quit flying period.
How much food will "respect" buy to put on your families dinner table.
I''m so sick of hearing about all the "poor airlines" and how bad they have it. - Reply to this comment

A - If the crew was over worked then the Company should have been to blame and was that explained to people? ANd why would the crew take it so much to heart if it wasn''t their fault?
B- A privilege to fly??? IT"S A SERVICE!!! -WOW! It''s a business, they profit! Come on!
C Respect? Sure, but when you show up late and people are missing connections and important meetings etc, they have a right to complain and it ISN''T about a lack of respect, Heck, the Pilot is in the CABIN and away from the flyers ....
D "We are treated like bus drivers" - Um, who deserve the same respect ... what are you trying to say?? And if they were late to do the job they would be FIRED AS WHAT THIS CREW SHOULD HAVE BEEN! I hope they were. That was unprofessional and disgraceful!
"$79 ticket....you get what you pay for!"
Yeah, I''m sure they ALL paid that! - Reply to this comment
- First, I agree with a previous poster, I wonder if the crew just arrived late off another plane?! Because it doesn''t seem likely they''d arbitrarily decide to go in late together as a group!
Second, the passengers were probably very aggressive and beligerent when the crew arrived. But, the crew still should have responded better. They should have apologized, boarded passengers, and made their run!
Any passenger that didn''t settle down, should have been excluded from the flight!
Finally, the way most private airline carriers are being operated these days, it makes me wonder if maybe it isn''t time to nationalize them and make them government run. I doubt they would get much worse---as long as it''s done under the NEXT administration, that is! - Reply to this comment
- This story''s layout really irked me...You play off the United theme, you show the pic of a tail of a United plane, and it is not until hidden in paragraph 2 we find out its American Airlines..
Shame on you! double shame on you...Rotten journalism! - Reply to this comment
