This article makes me angry...how can manufacturers in good conscious market a carseat that is not safe for a baby? My daughter is 4 months old, and if there was any doubt in my mind that my carseat was unsafe, she wouldn't be going anywhere! And how is it the the United States requires adequate performance in a 30mph crash? What about all the other crashes that happen at higher speeds? Oh well, they passed the standard, it's not our problem?? Sorry, my daughter is a bit more precious to me then that.

I have a question, has the EvenFlo Discovery Infant Car Seat been recalled or is in the process of being recalled? Because I have a 2 month old daughter that I now do not feel comfortable putting her into this car seat knowing that it has such a poor rating and should be recalled. I called the Wal-Mart store that i purchased the seat from they know nothing. I called the Manufacture phone number on the infant seat and they told me they know nothing about the seat poor safety issue and the seat is perfectly safe to use. Not after what i just seen on the news and what i have read now how can they say it is safe for a small child to sit in? If anyone has any more new information on this can you please reply back i will be checking this site often today. Thank you so much!

Dear Tammy,
I believe at that weight your child should be in a rear facing seat still. I have been a paramedic for 10 years and have taken the car seat saftey courses required by NHTSA. The time to switch your baby for rear to foward facing is dependant on 3 - 4 items, 1 baby weight, 2 baby height, 3 baby age. & 4 which in most healthy babies you wouldn't worry is can the baby hold head straight and have goo long time muscle tone?So please have your seat and child checked at you local (fire station, ambulance station) who ever does it in your town...

I have an infant 13 months old who only weighs about 19.5 lbs. I have him in a forward facing carseat in a camaro year 1994, which has no additional latch system and the seats are bucket with no middle. For bucket seats what would be the best carseat? I have a hard time getting any careseat to fit tightly in a camaro. Please, any suggestions?
