- So it would to interesting to see how they would manage to get all 8 of them their time behind the wheel before the 8 all at once get their driver''''s lincese.

Got a one track mind? Do you realize that there are FEW Octuplets or multiple birth children that are normal? Many have handicaps that range from Downs syndrome to Cerebral palsy, cretinism, etc, This woman already has one child from her previous litters that is autistic. Chances are very high that several of these kids will not be able to EVER drive or even attend school and be autonomous. As a matter of fact, chances are high that some will become adult wards of the state due to their diminished capacity to think or care for themselves.
And we will foot the bill.
This goes a he11 of a lot deeper than a driver''s license. - Reply to this comment
- seriously, if she had 6 other children do you think she was going to a fertility clinic because she was having trouble getting pregnant?
Posted by jgg000006 at 12:09 PM : Jan 30, 2009
According to the girl''s mother, all 6 of the other children were also conceived through fertility clinics and her ex husband was not the father of any of them. This woman has a problem, a compulsion to breed --on top of that, the doctors took advantage of that compulsion--guess they needed the business. - Reply to this comment
- We sure have some vile people

If we help every imbecile regardless of how or why they have gotten themselves into a fix, we will all be destroyed. There is another saying: "Never try to rescue a drunk and drowning man" The reason why is that they will pull you down with them.
Some we can help, some we have to write off--when people willingly and knowingly put themselves in compromising positions that may affect all of us--they do not deserve our support but our censure. People will never be responsible for themselves if they all expect a collective bailout. If the environment is found wanting, the children should be adopted out, the mother spayed (and Yes, I do know that applies to animals) and if she is not a citizen, we may want to consider deportation.
By her actions, she shows she either has a mental condition or a plan--neither which bodes well for the rest of us. - Reply to this comment
- I know this is not P.C. but when I hear that the grandfather is going back to IRAN to make some money for the incoming kids........??? Indians have been going back to India for about 6 years now because they get paid better as per the cost of living adjustment.
Although there''''s still no shortage of Mexicans flooding the southern border of the US.

BUT... Indians and Mexicans have not indicated that they would do anything and everything to kill us. That poster has a good point. - Reply to this comment
- Those babies will be taken away from her, no doubt. There is NO WAY she can provide a healthy environment for 14 young kids. Human beings are supposed to have *babies*, not LITTERS.

- Here''s a new take on a conspiracy theory. The family is from Iraq? The woman told someone that she is PAID to have babies? She has baby after baby while they all live in a 2 bedroom home?
Maybe this girl and countless other refugees have been told to start their own "cells" here in the states. Live here and give birth to their own broods who will be citizens by dint of our flawed interpretation of the 14th amendment.
After all, when we tend to look for potential terrorists, we always tend to look outside and not in. If they can''t get past our homeland security, why not just grow them in house?
The kids should be taken away and homeland security should be checking to ensure more Iraqi women are not replenishing their losses by having child after child right here on our home turf.
"They get pregnant and birth them here, so they do not have to infiltrate us there" A new motto. - Reply to this comment
- I was adopted at the age of 18mos. after my adoptive parents had been married for 7 yrs. & had been told by several military doctors that my adoptive mother could not ever have children. Four yrs. after I was adopted my adoptive mother had three live births & four miscarriages & my adoptive father would have liked to have had twelve children but after my mother had four miscarriages & her last child was born when she was 42 yrs. old, my adoptive father & mother decided that they were very "happy & blessed" to have four children. I do not understand how Ms. Suleman could have made a decision to have multiple births when she already has six children, a set of twins & a three yr. old that is autistic & she is attending college, does not have a job or her own home to raise all these children. Our economic state for the United States is "disasterous", which some of this has been caused by the number of people on the Medicaid program & now this mother has added eight more children to this program which has been in trouble for a number of years because of people like her "not thinking before they act". I can see where a young female would get pregnant out of wedlock one time & that child will be on a state Medicaid program, but a mother should be told that after this one child, her next children if she has more would be her responsibility, not Medicad''s, the United States cannot continue to progress on the path it is now traveling on.

- This woman is the most irresponsible person I have ever heard of. Dogs and cats are neutered....she should be too. It''s apparent she has no regards for the health and welfare of her parents nor her children plus she expects the citizens of California to pay the bill.

- How come, on this site,EVERY story somehow shows EVERYTHING that is wrong with the ENTIRE COUNTRY if not the world...These eight tiny babies are in for a very rough life.

- And whom is going to pay Kaiser for the medical bill? I sure Kaiser will pick up most of it for the publicity. But I think there is money $$$$$$$$$$$$ to me. That many people in a 3 bedroom home I think she is expecting the hand outs of a new home, pampers, baby food. To me the County should take over the case (children services)

- I agree with you Meg001, I also beleive that if you aren''t married that you don''t have children. I don''t know what is hard about understanding this. The whole family needs to be evaluated(mentally) If they are not legal, there is the ocean(swin or no swim)If you can''t pay for it you do not need it!

- The clinic and physicians who did this embryonic implantation should be held financially accountable for the care of these children due to this irresponsible act.

Agreed! It is reprehensible to bring about this kind of result. I''m not sure why, with overpopulation, we even need fertility clinics. - Reply to this comment
- Maybe the doctors and parents should have gotten her mental help if she is obsessed with having kids rather helping her meet her goal.

- To copywriter3: What exactly is so wrong with being a soccer mom. FYI not all soccer moms are uneducated. Maybe, just out of spite of you, I am going to be one of those soccer moms that send that mother stuff. The stuff you said makes me sick!!! I hope that YOU never have children. People like you are the reason there is hate in this world and should not have the right to reproduce!

- Court records show Suleman filed for bankruptcy last March, but after she failed to make required payments and appear at a creditors'' meeting, the case was dismissed. She reported liabilities of $981,371, mostly money owed on two houses she owns in Whittier.
Friends and family also reported that Nadya Suleman worked as a psychiatric technician until she was injured on the job. Then she began having children and enrolled in school. She graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree in child and adolescent development, school officials said. She returned to pursue a master''s in counseling, but last attended in the spring of 2008.

- Someone else was saying it cost $100,000 a day for a newborn in the NICU. So $800,000 a day for a month and people are STILL saying they may not need state assistance and may be paying out of pocket? Some of you people are really, REALLY dense. Wake up, this woman doesn''t even have a JOB. The medical costs of these eight infants cannot possibly be covered by this family alone. Guess who''s absorbing the cost? YOU!!!!! And she MEANT to do it!
