- I had another thought...maybe she went out of country to have this IVF done. Have they ever mentioned where she went and what doctors took care of her originally?

- helping those in need get back on their feet is one thing, paying for those who are purposely choosing to have 14 children with no means to support them is quite another. Plus, this is not a case of just the money it will cost to raise these kids (the hospital bill will probably be about $4 million for those of you who aren''t familiar with the costs for babies this premature $500,000 X 8), but also that this woman has no known husband in the picture and plans to raise 14 children on her own. Unfortunately I think this story will have a sad ending...

- To mdalerwill: clearly your blind support of this "family situation" has retarded your reading abilities. My comments were sincere and not abusive. Unlike your bizarrely cruel comment.
However in your case... neither children or animals should be expected to live in - what I can only deduce - is the cat-infested, fast-food container littered, Marlboro-smoke filled, morally bankrupt biohazard that you must call home. - Reply to this comment

- Is this jealousy in the medical profession? The babies are born, so what?
Money will not be a problem: Diaper manufacturers would want those babies to push their products? How about reality tv or book? This makes a great story. we are curious on why the mother covered herself in black. I suspected it yesterday that she was a Muslim because she was head toe in black talking to a reporter, with the back at viewers. Was this because she does not want to be identified by the first fertility doctor she duped, or is she afraid some Iraqis may persecute her if she left Iraq for some reasons.
Could we think of plausible scenarios: Did she dump the doctor who had helped her with fertility drugs, and go to Kaiser at three months pregnancy? The first doctor may have scanned her womb, and advised her to abort some of the babies--and this could be against her faith. So she did not come back to the follow up appointment. At three months, she came to Kaiser, and was given options, but she upheld her religious beliefs. This could be what she did. What level of education does she have to understand pre-fertility counseling? In what language was the counseling done?
On the other hand, I see a woman who is very fertile. She had twins.... and she could also multiply them. Good she is alive with her children to tell the story.
I hope Child Protective Services will not move to take the children, if other children are enjoying their human rights. There are communities that can rally to help the mother. - Reply to this comment
- IndepTex, how do you know where I got my information? I could be a relative and know them personally. They haven''t always been on TV. They did not go on TV until they had 15 children and became a novelty in some repects. Do you think they just suddenly became the TV family? Use your head.
