Acquaintance Tells CBS News She Also Has 4 Boys, 2 Girls; 2 Of The Others Are Twins
- this is about much more than money. It is about survival and, for those who make it, quality of life. While all eight of the Bellflower infants were listed in "stable" condition, two were placed on ventilators because of breathing problems. And a "stable" diagnosis guarantees next to nothing in terms of how they will be faring tomorrow, or five or 10 years hence. Premature babies account for more than half of all infants who do not survive the first year of life. Those who do survive often encounter problems ranging from blindness and feedingproblems to cerebral palsy and long-term developmental disabilities.

Here ya go.......
***********CBS) CBS News has learned that the family of the octuplets born this week outside Los Angeles filed for bankruptcy and abandoned a home a little over a year-and-a-half ago.
There''s been no mention of the octuplets'' father, Kauffman observes.
The grandfather, she adds, is apparently going to head back to his native Iraq to earn money for the growing family. He told CBS News he''s a former Iraqi military man. **********

- "The woman and her children live on a cul-de-sac with her parents."
What no Daddy on the birth cert? While my IRAs and 401ks are plumeting, this little girl just set herself up for free food, shelter (never seen a 10 bedroom tenement before myself - but I''m sure they''ll find a big shoe she can live in), health care, child care and schooling (herself included) for a good portion of her life. Come to think of it - how long ''til Oprah buys her 3 mini-van''s and Extereme Home Makeovers builds her a Pentagon sized casa?!.If I were her parents I''d buy a one-way ticket to never-never land (as in: "I''ll never-never change another of your babies diapers again") Geeshh! - Reply to this comment
- Our tax dollars no longer funds abortions because a segment of the public did not believe in this. The govt. listened and had this funding practice stopped without even a public vote. Yet my reluctance for using my tax dollars for irresponsible procreation go unheeded. Can I choose to opt out of that portion used for irresponsible procreation and use it for my family? Shall we initiate a vote? Those that vote yes for funding unlimited irresponsible procreation can assume my share of the tax burden.

- Well...Pelosi would have preferred abortion...no doubt...since ''she is single, already has 6, and living with Mom and Dad...but...what they heck...send her in and let''s get her on full ride government support...need all the welfare recipients we can get...'' but some will point a finger at Republicans for preferring all pregnancies reach healthy delivery, and health care provided to AMERICANS unable to afford health insurance....tsk tsk...silly Republicans. Expecting someone to actually INTEND TO SUPPORT A FAMILY THEY BRING INTO THE WORLD...***????

- Good thing the Children''s Health Care bill just passed through the senate...now these freeloaders will be able to take care of the litter this puppy just pumped out. If they declared bankruptcy last year, where did the money come from to have all those eggs put into her? Where''s daday? Probably lost in the highest hills somewhere, if he''s smart. The counseling protocols needs to seriously be looked at, or maybe even, adhered to. I know...Bin Laden can''t get into this country and it''s getting harder for his followers to gain access too, so they''re starting their own cell. Got a good start with 13 kids running around taking up America''s resources...free and otherwise. Personally, I will not donate one penny towards this major display of total stupiditity.

- The mother must have agreed to the implantation or whatever they used to get her preggers...She really wouldn''t have a suit against the hospital, there may be something there with then not knowing there were 8 babies but that is only if something happens that is unexpected in premature babies and it is highly unlikely a malpractice suit like that would be successful b/c of the inherent risk of multiple births

- on a completely different note spikelaw what kind of law? i studied environmental @ GW
never sat the bar tho.. so good luck - Reply to this comment
- umm, not malpractice, maybe negligence, depending on the hospitals policies, but depending on the agreement that the mother made with the hospital, she probably wouldn''t be the one to bring the suit it would be the department of health...so not money there for the mommy...

- now if it were me and i went in for IVF ended up with 8 successful implants made the choice to keep them and had little means to support them, you could be *** sure that at the very least i would be looking into my options for a malpractice suit so i could afford it.
Malpractice suit? Where was the malpractice at? Law student, can you help me out on that one? - Reply to this comment
- Bernie, its pretty much a cop out on her part, what else can you do, its a waste of time to even try to get a strait answer, probably b/c Lisa hasn''t really thought about it until she got cornered into it...
