- Why does this surprise anyone? We know there are extremes on both sides. What should appall everyone is the tactics that embolden this particular goof to publically reveal the sentiments that far too many Americans still hold to those who are %u201Cnot like us%u201D. Shame on the McCain/Palin campaign for stoking the embers of bigotry into a brushfire of intolerance.

- This guy is not in line with Republicans. Probably an Obama supporter put there by Axelrod to deflect from the lies he and Obama have been telling. Republicans don''t act this way give us a break.

- Absolutely shameful, that mentally ill man thought he was funny but he was simply ridiculous. No wonder we are treated as white trash when we are abroad like I am now.

- Has the guy been identified from the Johnstown, Pennsylvania, rally where he is shown holding curious george the stuffed monkey with a Obama lable on it?
Is it a hate crime or just very bad taste? - Reply to this comment
- It''s not his fault, he was obviously raised by his a&&h#!* daddy and his hillbilly mama.

- The CBS video makes him look pretty tame when you compare it to video of how this guy played with his little monkey while waiting in line before the rally.

- Insurgeon1: you continue with the garbage....do you get paid for this?...do you get paid by the line or by the word. Obama''s sure not getting his money out of your stuff because my guess is...even most of the democrats don''''t beleive what you''''re suggesting

- Before the Palin rally, the same man in the video had his Obama monkey with him as he was waiting outside the Johnstown War Memorial. He was holding it high above the crowd and waving it around making it do a little dance. He is a very tall man and everyone in the crowd near him could see this going on. He did this for about 5 minutes all the while with the same ear to ear grin he displays in the video shot from inside the War Memorial. I was part of a group of approximately 30 union Obama supporters across the street who were protesting the Palin rally and it was obvious his actions were directed at us. In response, someone in our group began shouting, "racist, racist, racist..." and soon all 30 of us joined in the chant, which seemed to delight this man all the more for he kept on doing it. I found it sad that no one near this man attempted to admonish him or grab the doll from him. In hindsite, this disturbs me more that the man''s sickening display. If you witness something you know is seriously wrong or evil you have a moral obligation to try and stop it. The inaction of the crowd around this man showed at least a tacit approval of his actions.

- greenlynn: Just goes to show you that if you look hard enough you can find anything you''re looking for online..Just who "on the Right" should have to "explain" every Idiot%u2019s posting that you can find? For that matter, who on the left should be the designated person?

- I found a picture that was photshopped to make Obama look like he was shining Sarah Palin''s shoes. The picture appeared on "The Free Republic" message board. All messages posted to that site have to be approved by their moderators. Clearly, the Right has to explain its racism.

- Zappa_f: Because there is a colossal difference between mocking someone for being stupid and mocking someone for being the wrong color. FairNYC already gave you the rest of the answer. You figure it out.

- Google Image search for the terms "bush + "chimp" returns 87,000 images from across the internet where Bush''s face is compared to a that of a chimpanzee. Go look yourself.
Google Image Search for "Bush" "Puppet" "protest" returns 108,000 photos of Bush puppets used in anti-Bush protests around the world, including thousands of Bush as a Puppet Chimpanzee.
This is all terribly funny to the Left, but when used against their hero it is suddenly viscous racism one step from the lynching tree. - Reply to this comment
- John McCain blew up when he found out someone compared him to Yosemite Sam.
Hope Dems don''t start carrying Yosemite Sam dolls with Obama stickers glued to their hats. - Reply to this comment

There is no history of white people being called chimps, your W is the only one.
However the KKK used the chimp analogy daily and always.
How old are you, you sound young with that question. - Reply to this comment
- A Google search of the terms "bush" + "chimpy" returns over 160,000 pages. 100''s of youtube videos compare Bush''s facial features to a chimpanzee. Left wing blogs by the thousands have used the Bush == chimpy insult.
So explain to me why the double standard where ridiculing Obama as a monkey is automaticly assumed to be crude KKK style racism, but the comparison of the President to a Chimpanzee is funny? - Reply to this comment
