CBS News Poll: President Loses Support Amid Concerns About Economy; Loss In Backing Comes From Democrats And Independents
- I was raised in a liberal home of the 50's and 60's but started leaning towards the conservative way of thinking about 30 years ago. I voted against Obama because I truly didnot believe he was prepared to lead our country. In defense of him...he's well spoken and very charming. But that doesn't cut it. I was right then to quesion his ability and I'm still right. Too many unanswered questions about him as well. And is anyone comfortable with the bickering that goes on with The President and First Lady when they're on together? Bugs the crap out of me. I'm not sure we had much of a choice this past election, but we, as the American People really got shafted with this half white, half black man who was from Kenya, or Hawaii, or Kansas, or who knows where. But please Obama...don't resign...we would really have our hands full if Biden were president!!!!!

- I truly hate to be writing this, but Obama has a long way down to go yet. This new incarnation of Carter will very likely be duking it out with him for lowest approval ratings... We are still a God fearing nation if you discount San Fran, Miami, New York and Seattle... Everything inland from those border towns is still God's country. Obama is going against everything we believe in... He will pay for it... The Dems will pay for it.

- If both Democrats and Republicans are unhappy with President Obama, that means he is doing well. In negotiation, the best result is when both sides think they should have done better.

- I am so delighted with President Obama! It has been a long time since the White House had such great leadership. This country is lucky to have him.

Indeed.

- I have just spent the night trying to listen to the other side I improved Olberdicks, Madcows and thrill up my leg Matthews ratings by 100%. I now understand why those three are at the bottom of the ratings but I also see where the "But Bush" blame game comes from.
Not a one of them pulled quotes from Obama where he promised if passed the Porkulous bill would keep unemployment below 8% and it would create 4 million jobs. Instead they spend their economy segments blaming Bush and making excuses for Obama.
I agree 100% that you can't fix everything to do with collapsed economy in 6 months. But on the other hand if as president your going to convince the American public to spend close to trillion dollars with promises it will create 4 million jobs you would think that after 6 months of being in place you point to an accomplishment and see it created 100,000 jobs here.
Instead we have the Teleprompter in chief saying it "Has done it job" Because it may or may not have saved not created a few thousand public sector jobs.
When the stimulus was proposed people like my self were saying it would be 2-4 years before any benefit was seen and all the liberals and Obamabots were chanting the party line. You all were saying it would fund all these shovel ready jobs that would put thousands of people to work instantly. Can someone please explain where those shovel ready jobs or maybe explain the definition of shovel ready?
Well now Obama is calling it a two year plan so when do we quit blaming Bush and start holding the Liar in chief accountable. I know I am going to here the typical liberal reply well Obama's lies but nobody dies but his slogan was "change we can believe in" so another lying politician is the change everyone voted for. - Reply to this comment

Indeed.
In fact there is no difference between the overt subversion of our beloved Constitution by Bush or Obama.
Time and time again, in court, they have both supported and demanded the same thing.
The dissolution of any authority granted the judicial and legislative branches of our once constitutional government, and the elevation of the executive branch above all other purposed power.

- Hmmm... Obama's numbers star to slide and we all of a sudden have a brand new scandal about Bush/Cheney? On a program that was approved by Congress that "gasp!" tried to kill terrorist leaders? The Obama machine is smooth. The smoothest we've seen at controlling the press to this point. If you want to wake up visit www.myangryelephant.com We try to be fair.

- Fellow citizen fred-mertz, I do not wish to begin a SearingTruth thread, and believe that the decision by CBS to implement this old and long lost strategy of poster specific threads is counter productive to the free expression of all.
So look for my response at the head of this thread, which CBS has chosen to place at the end.
