Comments on: Poll: Americans Want The Bonuses Back
Most Say Bailed-Out Companies Shouldn't Be Giving Bonuses At All, CBS News Poll Shows
- Would the taxpayers be even angerier IF they knew exactly WHO has controlling interest in AIG? This is a great example of open thievery occurring when no regulations/protections exist to protect against it. Someone failed to read the original TARP contracts.......oh, Congress, you do look sooooo ?????????(not enough words to describe it.) You thought that you would not get caught with your hand in the cookie jar!!!! Is this the way campaign contributions work?
The state of Florida is proposing a FIVE PER CENT annual salary reduction for state employees, and teachers are being pink slipped with promise of rehiring when the economy picks up, and local businesses are closing all around, and prices of goods are going up week to week.................AND, all these bonuses are deserved by these elite folks at AIG, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Give me a break............GREED caused this financial collapse and those who made BAD decisions should suffer.....not the taxpayers. Could we put some more of those responsible IN PRISON to keep Madoff some company? - Reply to this comment
- The unemployment rate surged to 8.1 percent, from 7.6 percent in January, its highest level in a quarter-century. In key industries ? manufacturing, financial services and retail
So the whiners at AIG are going to pack their bags and go somewhere else, eh? It looks to me like there are plenty of people in the financial service industry that are unemployed and looking for work. No taxpayer funded bonuses for incompetent people that have trashed the economy! - Reply to this comment

- On February 11, ########## ######## News reported that China was seeking "guarantees" for its US Government debt, and it now appears they got it. Well placed senior sources at the US Embassy in Beijing CONFIRM the formal written agreement was delivered by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her recent trip to China.
This means that in the event the US Government defaults on its financial obligations to China, the Communist Government of China would be permitted to physically take -- inside the USA -- land, buildings, factories, perhaps even entire cities - to satisfy the financial obligations of the US government.
Put simply, the feds have actually mortgaged the physical land and property of all citizens and businesses in the United States. They have given to a foreign power, their Constitutional power to "take" all of our property, as actual collateral for continued Chinese funding of US deficit spending and the continued carrying of US national debt.
This is an unimaginable betrayal of every man, woman and child in the USA. An outrage worthy of violent overthrow. - Reply to this comment
- no company receiving taxpayer monies in a bailout should be giving any bonuses, increasing salaries, giving promotions. it won't be stopped, the greed and corruption. congress and obama's administration, especially geithner, are nearly absolutely powerless. only a revolution like the one that gave birth to the nation, or a civil war, can really change anything. we can just kiss our behinds goodbye because it belongs to federal, state, county, and city governments and their elected officials, staff, employees.

- Sixty-five percent of the people polled said companies receiving federal bailout money should award absolutely no bonuses. About a quarter (26 percent) said it was acceptable to give bonuses only to mid and low level employees, while only 6 percent said companies on federal life support should be able to hand out bonuses to whomever they chose.

- I agree 100% that these greedy Corporate Jerks should return that money AND our law makers need to put BACK into place all those Regulations the Republican's removed throughout the Term of the Worst in Our History. It's going to take a long time to recover from this mess that's for sure but we need to make SURE we put back regulations on these and all the others like them.

- What a poll. What did you think? Americans want to see theses execs run their companies into the ground and we give them a bonus. These cocoroaches should all be fired. We don't even want to see bail outs.
