HSinCO, it''s a 2.8% payraise. Go to the link:

http://www.senate.gov/reference/resources/pdf/97-1011.pdf

It''s in black and white. 2.8% for 2009 and there was a 2.5% increase in 2008. So this year they can make around $174,000 for doing little. There''s the fraud of the century.

If people want to help great! Remember what Lincoln
said, " A house divided cannot stand" We need to pull
together and have hope. I also remember what Kennedy
said in his ignaugration, "Ask not what your country
can do for you, ask what you can do for your country"
So I hope people did not forget these vital words
from past presidents.

Titletrack, I think it would be wise to go to the
football field. Let experts, myself not included into
handling the problems of this country.

Oh, I don''t go. I just bet on the games. Do legacies or polls even matter in life?

sanvan 11, I agree and as we are "waiting and seeing" about Obama lets become a resilient people and take things into our own hands. After all it is not a government, or a president, or any one ''important" person or thing that makes up this country..it''s us. For example, someting small - we could all take a Red Cross First Aid course to deal with minor medical problems. Health care costs skyrocket when people rush to the emergency room with minor problems. Police and aid workers at New Orleans during Katrina said that there would have been less problems if people had followed basic Red Cross protocols that they could have learned from taking a basic First Aid class.

If you have to escape reality why not go to the
movies instead. Unfortunately there is movies about
Nixon and George W. So there isn''''t much escape there.
We get to relive history there too.

Posted by sanvan11 at 09:04 AM : Jan 18, 2009

How is making money escaping from reality? Anyway, who is Channey?

I know, we could put Bush/ Channey in a wrestling
match against Osama and the Taliban. There would be
a hint of some kind of sports material there.

Gallup needs to do a more recent poll of the approval rating of Congress. The last poll was conducted May 2008 and the approval rating was at 18% for Congress. What''s scary is that the Republicans had 20% approval while the Democrats had 16%. Bush wasn''t the only problem but look at the Legislative Branch and all of the problems that exist there. What has Congress been doing good lately?

don''''t think the Super bowl has anything to do with
the state of the country. Football is just an escape
to un-reality.

Except the reality of money won from betting. That does my bank account really good.

to the ending of Bush/Channey. I want to look towards
the future of this country.

Who was Channey again? I also look to the future, because there is no going back. No use in crying

bottom, there is only one direction we need to go and
