CBS News/N.Y. Times Poll Finds President Will Leave Office With Lowest Final Approval Rating Ever
- I believe he did the best job he could do with the restrictions he had to work under.
We Americans are the blame for any problems we have.
Good luck Mr President on your retirement from office. - Reply to this comment
- MrNrgmizer, you''''re wrong. I was talking about the second invasion. Saddam wanted to develope new delivery systems for his chemical stock piles. My Iraqi friend didn''''t want help saddam and try to escape when he was caught in 2000. We bombed the h3ll out of compound where the research was conducted to prepare for the invasion......try to find evidence afterward is practically impossible.
Practically everyone in the world at THAT TIME believed saddam possesses WMD, not just George Bush.
WMD was NOT the only reason why we invaded Iraq.
So how many more violations of the UN resolutions and how many more attack on our American men and women patrolling the no-fly zone or how many more mass murder or human rights violation that saddam have to committ before it''''s OK to invade?

As many as he wanted since it''s not our country to judge his actions...
I don''t believe your ....friend...the laws of physics cant be changed for your friend..forensic evidence searched areas throughout Iraq revealed nothing.
No, the U.N. was unconvinced of the evidence Colin Powell presented before the world body and they were right.
No Weapons or evidence of research was ever found.
We had weapons inspectors there who categorically ruled out any weapons of mass destruction and stated such just before the invasion. These guys knew their stuff. - Reply to this comment
Bush is the worst President in the history of this country.- Reply to this comment
- Interesting that once Pres Elect Obama got a first hand look at the Intel that the President sees everyday, he decides to keep the Bush team. If the Dems want to see this Country split into Two, let them have hearings on War Crimes. Not even Pres Elect Obama is THAT stupid. Never judge the folks by what they say in Polls, when it comes to being safe in this Country, most would support Pres Bush. The Dem Congress wasted two years trying to find some crime to impeach, prosecute, but could not. Why did CBS keep quoting Gallup, but not stating the results of Gallup. Also, the Fox Poll had the same number as Gallup, 34%. My guess if one looks at the Methodolgy of Gallup, Fox an CBS, one would notice a difference. So who is really right????????

- I worked with an Iraqi engineer who was in jail under saddam for trying to leave the country because he didn''''t want to work on saddam chemical weapons program. He was tortured everyday along with countless others. He prayed everyday for a miracle and it cames as an US invasion........it was the happiest day of his life because it signals a new future for Iraq.
He help the US military after the war to exposed saddam illegal chemical program but most of it was destroyed by our bombing campaign.
To put things in PROPER CONTEXT AND PERSPECTIVE, he knows a lot of blood will be shed but a chance to live free and prosper are totally worth it.
It cracks him up when someone cry that it''''s an illegal war. His reply is: "not from where I was standing or should I say "shackling".

You are posting for the first invasion which everyone in the UN agreed was right....
The second invasion had no such weapons or chemical warfare programs to blame...it was all a lie to get to Saddam Hussein. Who while a tyrant and evil, also stood between our freedoms in America and extremists muslims trying to destroy us. He died well, maybe more honorably than those who killed him.
Understand that Bush lied to America, broke his oath of office to "preserve, protect and defend the constitution"...not America...the Constitution. Americans defend america, not runaway dictators with visions of God. - Reply to this comment

- I still think he is a great man and a genuinely good person. CBS is just trying to have the last laugh because of the whole Dan Rather incident where he lied about Bush''s military record. I imagine Bush would rather be remembered for trying to do the right things than a stained blue dress.

Bush''s actual final approval rating is listed at 34% in a Jan. 14 2009 article at www.gallop.com. This CBS news article headlines their OWN CBS/New York Times poll at 22%. Since the comparative ratings quoted in the rest of this article use only Gallop poll ratings, I think for consistency and accuracy, the official Gallop Poll rating should have been used in the header as well.- Reply to this comment
