"I liked the way Governor Palin had handled herself. She kept her cool when it was obvious Senator Biden was not cool." Posted by Hinda39 at 10:51 PM : Oct 02, 2008

Ok, were we watching the same debate?
I never once saw Biden lose his cool. And she didn''t even make an effort to answer most of the questions. Of course that was probably because she couldn''t answer the questions. She probably had it planned that if she couldn''t answer any questions, she would just talk about something else that she did know about. When are people going to wake up and realize she isn''t going to make a good VP?

After 30 years in Office, this is the best Biden can do?

Palin did great as a Washington Outsider!

Bush may be President, but the Democrates in Congress have caused our economic crisis and should be held accountable!

The people clearly have indicated their discontent with the %u2018%u2018Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008%u2019%u2019 and I call it %u201CCash for Trash%u201D. You really want me to think you represent the people of your district? It was "Cash for Trash" but now it''s "Cash for Trash & Garbage" Seems the Senate had to have all their "PORK" leaving none for the House!

I found Gov. Palin to be snide and as insubstantial as a pageant contestant. I was put off. I''m not surprised that she announced she won''t be available to the mainstream press since she obviously can''t handle in-depth interviews. A little strange for a candidate in a democracy, don''t you think?

Palin is pathetic. She didn''t deserve to be on the same stage as Biden. I have new found respect for Biden. He showed himself a true statesman, and a gentleman. Palin is an empty-headed disgrace, rude, arrogant, substance-less.

What do you expect when the Government of Pigs (GOP) has backed a completely failed ideology for the last 30 years. Good to see that people are finally realizing it. Too bad we had to wait for fascism and to lose what we have worked for for so long first.

Why would a guy with a net worth of over $100 million dollars who doesn''t know how many houses he owns and 72 freakin'' years old want to become President?

How can any working class American believe someone who''s been part of the political establishment for 26 years is actually going to try to change it?

What reason would McCain have to help the middle-class when seven out of his top ten advisors are lobbyists?

the current energy crisis was put in place in the 1980''s when Carter lost the election and Reagan refused to deal with the fact that as our population grew so would our carbon footprint. Bush 1 held up that policy calling global warming "bad science" and stating that participating in the keoto (sp) accord would deal the USA an economic blow. Instead of leading the way with alternative energy plans that would have jumped started the economy ,the ditch was dug deeper. It took 20 years to pay off the debt of foolish tax cuts put in place by Reagan that created a deficit. Just when we had the funds to deal with issues like alternative energy the GOP stepped took office& now we have another hugh deficit and another energy crisis. Drilling now will get gas to the pumps in 10 years. The economy is in trouble now and I personally would like to not wait 10 years for the high cost of gas to be addressed. Thanks but no Thanks.

Mr Heap,
I did not know that Hawaii was no longer in the union. Can you share wilth us when we lost the islands? Obama has repeatdly stated that he is Church of Christ. Perhaps you have personal knowledge that he is a Muslim that you can share? I can''t be certain of you other statements as I have never been close enough to see him refuse. You are aware that a Jehova''s Witness also cannot say the pledge? In this religious movement the pledge is an affront to God.
As for McCain, in my opinion is not ready for the job of restoring Main st so that the economy can start working again. He has been wealthy too long.

It is a sad fact that the republicans
were happy that no major mistakes were made by Palin. I heard the phrase "deer in the headlight" look in regard to her performance, she managed to not do this again. Perhaps not, but Palin refused to answer questions by simply answering with a different subject and then WINKING as if to idicate she was just too cute. I was distressed. I also heard the comment "no Tina Fey moment". Really? How about this - Gov., the sky is no longer blue and your primary has voted against alternative energy 20 times over the last years. How can you explain this? Well, John McCain supported the surge which is succeeding in Iraq. HMMM, OK.... how about Gov., Obama''s tax cuts are not going to raise taxes on Main ST. No small business making under 250k will see a tax increase. NO family making under 250k will see a tax increase. How can you explain the attacks
on this tax plan? Well, education is so important. Wink Wink, BIG SMILE. (Unlike SNL, I just made events up, nothing here is direct quote.) This is just one more performance where the differences were huge. If Biden had to stand in for POTUS he would govern. If Palin had to stand in for POTUS, would she just smile and wink at the chancellor of Germany and call this diplomacy? Did anyone else hear that she wants to continute as the current VP does and act as part of the legislative body? I am more convinced than ever that Palin is a mistake.

The comments that Palin dodged questions are absurd. It can be argued that she was not willing to be led into a biased enviornment. After all, neither party had any knowlege of the questions prior to the event. That dosent mean that the moderator didnt. Remember 92 with Clinton and Bush 1. Carol Simpson sampled the audience prior to the debate and zeroed in on pro Clinton questions. A tecnique invented by James Carville also known as stacking the audience, as they were polled outside before even entering the building. If you want more of the same then vote Obama and Biden. "PROFESSIONAL" politicians that have mastered the art of telling you what you want to hear. This same andle is used every day on television programs such as Ellen, Oprah, Bill Maher ect. Polling to get a desired result in advance. Gwen Ifill is a partisan democrat and admits it in her book. Palin was taking no chances at being set up by creating her own talking points. You liberals dont like it. Oh well robots, then dont. I will take real change any day over fear mongering.

I liked the way Governor Palin had handled herself. She kept her cool when it was obvious Senator Biden was not cool. She showed absolutely respect for the Senator and used facts not the propaganda that Obama''''s team seems to be dishing out.

We cannot redo what Neville Chamberlain did in 1939-1940 when after meeting Hitler stated we will have peace in our time. History should not repeat itself in this -- not for the sake of our allies nor for ourselves.

I may not agree with everything but I do believe she is a better candidate than Obama and Biden combined. She gets my vote.

Ok then
1) please point to 1 specific instance where Mr. Biden lost his cool.
2) please point to a specific instance where Ms. Palin actually answered a foreign policy question
3) please point to a specific instance where Ms. Palin could refute the specific instances when challenged by Mr. Biden regarding Mr. McCain''s record of change/votes etc.
4) Please state why you feel her position on expanding the VP powers has merit.
5) Please state why her statement of moving the embassy to Jerusalem is wise and prudent ie: the religious factions being what they are and years of carefull thought of where the embassy need be located.
6) Please inform me why you feel the McCain/Palin healthcare plan would not be an abysmal failure.

How can you people support a man who will not repeat the pledge of allegence, nor salute our nation''s flag? Obama is not an American, has no experience as a world leader, cant tell the truth to save his miserable life, and you all continue to support this non-american.
Mr. McCain is a great statesman, who is all for our country, understands our nations problems and those of other countries. He was a soldier who sacrificed greatly as a POW, stands at attention during the national anthem, repeats the pledge of allegence, and proudly salutes our grand flag. Yet you imbesels continue to parade this muslem idiot in front of our nation as a great man. Obama isn''t fit to wash the shoes of either Mr. McCain or his running mate.
It just flat sickens me to listen to your reporters and their continued attack on a man who will be one of our greatest presidents, meaning Mr. McCain.
I refuse to watch anymore news from you dumb *****.

Bush/Cheney called 800 Battalions to harass Remaining House Members to Vote for Bailout Tomorrow!!

Just heard this - hot off the press at 9:30pm, Thursday night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will Bush/Cheney start WW III over this? We know they have been itching to start a war to counter/cancel November''s elections so they can stay in power for the past year. Is this it?

The House members whom voted against are those who represent poor and low income areas throughout the country and areas that do not benefit from bailout. They are enough in numbers to make a difference in Monday''s voting. Let''s keep supporting them!!!

Pass this around to others so they know they have and are supported by the public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Biden is ready day 1 - I trust him to make the right decision and not be quick to press the button on that 3:00 ring. Palin did not impress me bringing all those kids on stage - I want a vice president/president that is going to give 200% every day to running the country and not running kids to hockey practice.

Great come back Joe Biden! You did not have a choice when you lost your family in a tragic accident, but you kept going. Palin has a choice, if I were a mother with an infant with a disability, a young child and a teenager that is pregnant, I would want to be at home, not playing politics in Washington. For ten years I was a single parent and I missed out on alot of my children''s everydays life''s. Palin think about what you are doing.

Palin for President...Biden for Vice President. Now there''s a change I could live with....a law that states these 2 executive positions should be held by different parties.

I like Palin, I like Joe Biden...but he loses because Obama is an idiot who knows nothing about the economy except how to profit from it with his gangster friends. I do not trust him. And while you may not believe that I care not about race...I do think that in this country...a white man who was as clueless as Obama, would never have gotten as far.
