- McCain looked and sounded unprepared, used scripted phrases and answers. The choice of Palin and how it was made, shows terrible judgement by a Presidential candidate (McCains age and health should be a great concern to all). Obama was articulate and prepared, very Presidential. Obama is smart and a well educated candidate, and it showed in this debate. Obama won.

- Hmmm...
I couldn''t help but notice that Senator McCain appeared rather stiff, and, somewhat timorous or ill at ease. It reminded me of the Kennedy / Nixon debates where Nixon did not do well.
I also noticed that Obama had more substance to most of his answers, while McCain took more of an offensive stand, almost name calling or %u201Cyou did this or that,%u201D rather than offering answers to solve the issues raised by the moderator.
By doing so, McCain looked a little goofy because he was bending the truth to try to make his case. Repeatedly, Obama had to tell McCain %u201Cthat is not true.%u201D
McCain spoke about his years of experience, and, that includes years of supporting President Bush about 95% of the time.
Senator McCain makes himself out to be an almost righteous champion against earmarks.
However, Senator McCain is not without sin, and he should not be throwing any rocks at anybody else%u2019s glass house.

Stunning !
Then there is Palin. This video says it all...Alaska Independence party info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmYqRfp6-x8
Todd Palin a member 1995-2002. She regularly attends their conventions...
Joe Vogler, The founder of the AIP once said, "The fires of Hell are glaciers compared to my hate for the American Government, and I won''''t be buried under their damned flag!" Listen for yourself. See palintruth (dot) org for more. Vogler was killed procuring plastic explosives.
Tim McVeigh would be proud !
McCain accepted the endorsement of Pastor Hagee, before he rejected it:

- As a resident of the gulf south and a Katrina victim, I was appalled by McCain''s proposal to freeze federal spending except for Iraq.
The Republican Administration has failed to honor its obligation to protect us in the gulf south against floods and to assist the victims of Ike, Gustav, Katrina, and Rita. Yet, Senator McCain wants to freeze funding to us, while, at the same time, continue pumping billions of dollars into Iraq, an nation that has more than $80 billion in surplus in its treasury!
Wake up Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas! McCain may be worse than any huriccane. - Reply to this comment

- MCCAIN: "We had an energy bill before the United States Senate. It was festooned with Christmas tree ornaments. It had all kinds of breaks for the oil companies, I mean, billions of dollars worth. I voted against it; Senator Obama voted for it."
THE FACTS: Obama did vote for a 2005 energy bill supported by President Bush that included billions in subsidies for oil and natural gas production. McCain opposed the bill on grounds it included unnecessary tax breaks for the oil industry. Obama voted for the overall measure but has said he supported the legislation because it provided money for renewable energy. - Reply to this comment

- President Bush''s overreaction to 9/11 may have helped doom the United States financially.
By Mortgage BreakDown
First off, no one is down playing how horrible and shocking 9/11 was to the country. It truly was a time of grief and a huge wake up call to how porous our borders were and still are, but did the terrorist win in the long run.
If you''re a terrorist organization in the the late 90''s trying to figure out the best way to attack the United States, your obviously not thinking of a frontal attack on its borders. We all know strong arming would

- I want to vote to the person who will follow this GREAT American idea and concept and return my America to me and my fellow citizens forthwith..."We hold these truths to be sacred & undeniable; that all men are created equal & independent, that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent & inalienable, among which are the preservation of life, & liberty, & the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these ends, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that whenever any form of government shall become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, & to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles & organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness." - Mccain is up pastt his bed time. He is wrong for the United States. We need a responsible person for president. Not a hot head, not someone who is irresponsible in picking a vp who has not been properly vetted. Now a big can of worms has been unleashed and they think it will be solved by hiding Palin from the press. When she does give an interview she comes across as out of her league. Lies and innuendos will not be a cure for Palin-mccain

- I''m so looking forward to this debate. I hope McCain makes him stutter more than usual.AH AH AH ! The only way Barack Hussien Obama can talk about anything is with a teleprompter. There really wasn''t any reason for him to go to Washington because all he could have done was say "Present". Myself I don''t want the chickens to come home to roost, as his "spiritual advisor" warned us.The Dems say we need oversight but what was Barney & Dodd doing? Wasn''t that their job?McCain had to go to make sure the dems didn''t fill the bailout with their usual pork. That is why Reid didn''t want him looking over their shoulder.
