And guess what? McCain said it himself- The economy is not my strong point. But he thinks we should spend billions in Iraq and is at odds with Russia and Iran. Can you say End of the World?

Oh shut up and wake up, you''''''''re distracted from the real problems facing this nation-Uemployment, recession, dead soldiers due to a stupid war, inflation, spending billions in Iraq instead of at home, Bin Laden and Al Qaida regrouped, 9 trillion in national debt ect.
Time to wake up or finished.

I am facing those issues, just like you are! And you need to grow up and quit whining like some crackhead adolescent!

This country has been in worse straits before! MUCH WORSE!

President Bush is doing what the Republicans do so well...PROVIDE PUBLIC AND ECONOMIC POLICIES ONLY FOR THE RICH AND THE SUPER RICH...THOSE WHO HAD OIL AND DEFENSE STOCK. only for the rich...now again like Calvin Cooley.... one political news commentator is that this is the worst economic event since the BIG CRASH OF 1929...big depression!!! THANKS REPUBLICANS YOU DID IT AGAIN...vote for McSame and you support the same policies for the rich and super rich.

Be smarter--Vote for Obama!!! who stands for reasonable polices for the middle class American only Democrats can pull us out of a depression...

hungry1968-1 and everyone,

It''s been a good night of "discussion", very refreshing from the usually name calling that goes on around here, but I have to go.

Another time.

Live Long and Prosper.

The RICH have been supporting you all your life...every paycheck you''''ve ever gotten has first been in the hands of a RICH person.

There isn''''t any tax dollar in the US that wasn''''t first made by a RICH person!

It''''s about time the rich started paying the same tax rate that we do!!!

Posted by hungry1968-1 at 10:50 PM : Sep 18, 2008

Congress needs to cut out loop holes and figure out a way for everyone to pay equally,....it''s not right to take from the rich to give to the poor. Some of those rich people may have been poor and worked their way into what they have.

Tell that to Bush, he''''s the one giving 10 billion dollars a day to Iraq.

Posted by sueann702 at 10:44 PM : Sep 18, 2008

Bush is not running for President.

Besides, it''s time for Iraqi''s to decide if they want to be a country or beak into three pieces. If they want to be a country, act like it or if they don''t, call up Iran and tell them to "come on in".

Lastly, I don''''t see how raising taxes in this economy can be a good thing, especially when I hear no one talking spending cuts.

...and I might add, WogerWabbit of 2008, won''t vote for John McCain in 2008. I knew Bush was a rat in 2000 when he deballed McCain and I never trusted him after that. I though for sure the maverick would survive, but this neutered version of John McCain is pitiful to see.

Tax breaks for big companies to ship jobs overseas, rising unemployment, inflation, spending billions and billions on a war that is not making us safe, 4500 dead americans, half a million dead Iraqis, Bin Laden still out there, AL Qaida regrouped to pre 9/11 strength, failure with Hurricane Katrina, unregulations which led to the financial market collapse, 5 trillion dept from Bush alone, wiretaps on Americans, ok to torture, secret prisons, more enemies in the world.....That''s Republicans for you.

If you vote Republican this year you must hate your country.

Never, not ever, could I even CONSIDER voting for this Bush clone.

Posted by hungry1968-1 at 10:35 PM : Sep 18, 2008

Well then, answer me this then please.

Obama wants to raise the taxes on the rich. Do you think that the rich won''t just find a way to pass those taxes on down to us, one way or another?

If he passes a Wind Fall Profit Tax on Oil Companies, don''t you think we will end up paying for that also?

Lastly, I don''t see how raising taxes in this economy can be a good thing, especially when I hear no one talking spending cuts.

Howard Dean said it best: "John McCain of 2000, wouldn''''t vote for John McCain in 2008."

Posted by hungry1968-1 at 10:29 PM : Sep 18, 2008

Is it just me, or does it seem that both candidates are flip flopping around on the issues?

McCain may not be the McCain of 2000, but, since the primaries, it seems like Obama has moved from the far Left to a more Central position.

I think McCain is too old and Obama has only run for President most of his political career.

Having said that, I could vote for Obama for a number of reasons, but I keep coming back to seeing him on Ingauration Day and all his past friends smiling in back of him. I have to get past that if I want to vote for him,........along with a few other questions I have to get answers for.

McCain, I just keep coming back to "I think he is too old", but I want to give him a chance to change my mind.

I''''m glad to see that SOMEONE is actually looking to vote on the issues, after looking at the candidates and making an informed decision!!

Posted by hungry1968-1 at 10:07 PM : Sep 18, 2008

The debates will be the deciding factor.

I want to hear their answers, watch their faces, and see their reactions to the questions.

If one of them doesn''t impress me, I will vote for Nader in a protest vote for the poor quality of candidates that the two major parties put forth for us to choose from.

I don''t care much for either candidate and an event like this would go a long way in helping make up my mind, but remember, McCain doesn''t know where Spain is and I''m still looking for those extra 7 states that Obama said he was campaigning in.
