Before the housing bubble burst, when people still thought they were becoming wealthy with daily increases in their home equity, Bush and the Republicans were beating their chests over the "strong" economy and taking all of the credit for it.

Now that the whole thing has turned to $#!^, they either want to blame Democrats outright or, at the very least, try to spread the blame around.
