Grover%u2019s Vision:
An America where the minimum wage is repealed, unions are made irrelevant, and law-abiding citizens can pack handguns in every state and town. "My ideal citizen is the self-employed, homeschooling, IRA-owning guy with a concealed-carry permit," says Norquist. "Because that person doesn''t need the godd@mn government for anything."
Norquist is famous for saying, "I don''t want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub." His plan is for the federal government to amass massive debt without increasing taxes on the rich, if the federal government is mired in huge debt it can no longer fund social programs of any kind, including Social Security, Medicaid, FEMA, Veterans benefits...
Grover%u2019s Conservative Agenda:
At the Conservative Political Action Conference, right-wing activist and anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist urged conservatives not to work to accomplish anything in the current Congress.

- I agree that if the Dems think that Palin is such a bad person and can''t be VP then why all the fuss just set back and watch her go down. But it seems to me and from what little I can get from the News (most of which pushes Obama, if they didn''t we would be hearing more about Mr. Wright and some other of his crew but as you see a 17 yr pregant girl is a big deal to the left where a racsist like Wright is OK) Back to what I can get from the news is that Obama is very very worried as is he running mate and their team of experts and you can tell they are by the way they got the media to go after her.

- Explain this:
2003-2007 our economy grows at a record pace, unemployment is at 4.5%, federal tax revenues are at record highs each year, poverty is at 12.4% vs 13.5% under slick Willy.
The dems take control in 2007 and force the minimum wage higher and won''''t extend the business tax cuts - by the way, our corporat taxes are the 3rd highest in the world. Oil companies pay over 50% in taxes.
Dems have had control for about 18 months. OUr economy is close to recession, unemployment is up to 6.1% and gas prices have doubled.
But they want to blame Bush? AND, they say the solution is to TAKE MORE OF YOUR MONEY! Great idea. My life will be better if the government takes more of my money and gives it to idiots who bought a house they couldn''''t afford.
Where to begin, when one cannot seperate spin from truth.

1) Over 70% of our National Debt was created by just 3 Republican presidents.
2) Real middle class wage growth is double when a Democrat is president compared to when a Republican is president.
3) 90% of Americans would pay less taxes under Obama''s proposed tax plan compared to McCain''s.
Source: Larry M. Bartels professor of politics and public affairs at Princeton University, one of the country''s leading political scientists.
Countless millions of Americans vote Republican because they believe they''ll pay less taxes and that they''ll have their money spent more responsibly. As you can see, those beliefs are directly contradicted by the facts. Of course we can choose to ignore the facts and instead focus on which candidate is wearing a flag pin (you ever notice that McCain doesn''t wear one?

For Richer or for Poorer
Inequality widens under Republicans and shrinks under Democrats.
By Larry M. Bartels
The most important issue rarely mentioned on the campaign trail this year is the gap between rich and poor in America. It is important for two reasons: The gap has been growing, and the choice between John McCain and Barack Obama likely will affect whether it narrows or expands.
(cont)
That is the conclusion of Unequal Democracy, a provocative new book by Princeton professor Larry M. Bartels, one of the country''s leading political scientists. His most significant finding is that there is a partisan pattern to the size of the gap between the rich and the poor. Over the past half-century, he concludes, Republican presidents have allowed income inequality to expand, while Democratic presidents generally have not.
Lest anyone think this book is a partisan hit job by a left-wing academic, Bartels goes to great pains in his introduction to preempt the counterattack he expects from critics on the right. "I began the project as an unusually apolitical political scientist," he writes, noting that the last time he voted was in 1984, "and that was for Ronald Reagan." He adds that in doing this work, "I was quite surprised to discover how often and how profoundly partisan differences in ideologies and values have shaped key policy decisions and economic outcomes. I have done my best to follow my evidence where it led me." - Reply to this comment
- ...which proves why these polls are meaningless. He''s up by eight, he''s down by eight, what the h3ll. You don''t change positions 8 points in a week. Polls are must random cr@p. The only poll that matters is in November.

- `Subpoenas Due In Palin Trooper Probe`
`Gov. Backpedaled in Cooperating With Inquiry Into Fired Official Following Her VP Announcement`
Gov. Sarah Palin is a Republican so why are they wasting their time trying to issue a Republican a Subpoena? Don`t they know Republicans are `special`, `above the Law` and `exempt!`. Sarah Palin will just ignore any Subpoenas and refuse to answer as she has already stated! Karl Rove and other Republicans have already established that Subpoenas can be ignored with no consequences! In the recent case of Rove and other Republicans the Subpoenas were issued by Congress itself and still ignored! Republicans are `special Americans`, exempt from Justice! Subpoenas are only for the rest of Americans and we better show up, don`t show up and watch what happens to you!! - Reply to this comment
- Your fascism argument is brilliant.
Everyone of those points can also be turned to your party. How about the "rallying" cry of global warming?
You are really reaching. There have been no fraudulent elections, you guys just can''t understand that when you lose, its because we don''t want socialism.
If protecting the LIFE OF AN UNBORN BABY makes me a bad person, then so be it. Abortion is murder and you support it. It has nothing to do with "rights". Hitler supported Abortion as well.
If having a national identity makes me a bad person, so be it, go burn a flag or move away.
Halliburton was given a no bid contract by Clinton for Somalia and Kosovo...don''t remember any backlash there, do you? They are the only ones in the world that can do what they do.
How did they "side" with corporations? The idea, my socialist friend, is to give corporations freedom, not control them. We have the third highest corporate tax rate in the world. When corporations pay more taxes, as you want them to do, WE PAY THEM. Either the cost of goods goes up or they stop hiring people.
You want to control my money, where my kids go to school, what I drive, where I work...hmmm....fascism, socialism, which is it? - Reply to this comment

- Here''s a link to 300+ articles or references to the man made global warming myth.

20% of our taxpayers pay over 80% of the taxes. 50% pay 98%; this means the lower 50% are paying ONLY TWO PERCENT OF OUR TAXES. What are you complaining about?
Who cares about subpoenas in the firing of attorneys? That was liberals making a stink. Nothing came of it. Again, Clinton fired all of his. Geneva Conventions don''t apply to non-uniformed soldiers and don''t have to be given to those who don''t adhere to the rules, such as pretending to surrender.
Dem leaders saw waterboarding performed in 2002 and their response was..."ARE YOU SURE ITS TOUGH ENOUGH?"
We can go to Darfur but not Iraq? Darfur wasn''t a threat, Sadam was and Sadam killed many more than died in Darfur.
SCHIP, yes Bush vetoed it twice. Good. Go buy your own health insurance and stop asking your NEIGHBOR to buy it for you. Its called personal responsibility.
Plame''s email suggesting Joe go to Niger was real which is why Joe was dropped. CIA also took Joe''s report and said it supported their analyses - representatives from Iraq did indeed visit Niger, one of them being Iraq''s top Nuclear scientist.
Connect the dots: We caught Sadam with VX in the 90''s WHILE WE WERE THERE, he kicked us out in 1998. So, he''s making them while we are there, but you think he stopped when we left? Then again, in lib-speak: America is ALWAYS THE BAD GUY!! - Reply to this comment

5. Rampant Sexism: The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.
6. Controlled Mass Media: Sometimes the media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.
7. Obsession with National Security: Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses
8. Religion and Government are Intertwined: Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government''s policies or actions.

9. Corporate Power is Protected: The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.
10.) Labor Power is Suppressed: Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.
11.) Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts: Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.
12.) Obsession with Crime and Punishment: Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations

13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption: Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.
14. Fraudulent Elections: Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Keep picking the pepper out of the fly sh!!t while the rest of us focus on how you and your Republican brethrens have ran this country into the ditch to the tune of a $9,000,000,000,000 debt. In every single case, on every single issue, they have sided with corporate America over the interest of working families. Go right down the list: Iraq, the economy, tax cuts to the wealthy, health care, energy and the environment.
They have time and time again opened the back door for Halliburton and other contractors that have fleeced this country nine ways to Sunday in Iraq to the tune of $23,000,000,000 (completely missing, no one knows, gone) and counting. They let big pharmaceuticals write the perspiration drug plan, Big Oil write the energy policy, bailed out their fat cat friends on the mortgage meltdown while telling working families that they are on there own; sided with big insurance companies against the devastated families on the Gulf Coast after Katrina. And they continue to gut the environment and still claim there is no climate change. Their solution (big surprise) drill more, gas tax holiday, invade countries with massive oil reserves%u2026 - Reply to this comment
- I love it. History actually shows the Libs are the party of fascism, hence, the government controlling everything. Libs want to control where I work, what I drive, eliminate capitalism, don''t care about the precious sanctity of life, want to take money from the achievers and risk takers and give it to the lazy people, force me to work for the community, tell me where I can buy health insurance, force me to give them my money for "social security" yet I only get a 1% return.
What a great ideology. Give the government control of my life. Sounds great. - Reply to this comment
