Before Crucial Convention Speech, Most Voters Have No Opinion Of McCain's VP Pick
The Republicans have become masters of empty, meaningless political rhetoric.
They turn the truth into lies, and lies into "truth".
Eight years of their foolishness is enough.- Reply to this comment
- Wow!! Just check out what a lying b*tch this creep Palin is...

- As an Independent observing the Republican convention, I found all the speeches, including Palin''s, lacked substance. If all we are going to see is attacks against Obama and no real discussion on the issues over the next two months, I am voting for Obama.

- I am so sick of hearing women like dear Maggie Rodriguez....whom all of a sudden want to embrace this person whom can''t even manage her own family, she has no morals (pict floating around web of her in a stars and stripes bikini toting an AK and another of her in a leather mini and stripper shoes...well I''ll paste the email I was sent...) she definitely does not evoke fear in me if I were a terrorist nation...she''s trying to hard and no one likes a hipocrite.

- The more I learn about Gov. Palin, the less I like. Even her own party and home state legislators have problems with her VP cnadidacy.
I am an Obama supporter, but I''ve got to ask "John, what were you thinking!!!" - Reply to this comment
- Here is an absolute, devastating indictment of the Republican spin machine. This one piece illustrates how the far right can be on both sides of an issue depending on whether the individual in question is either Republican or Dem. We always talk about the astonishing hypocrisy, here it is and I challenge any McCain supporter to take a few short minutes and see exactly what we have been saying all along.
In there own words here is:
Karl Rove on VP qualifications
Oily Bill on teen pregnancy and Juno Palin
Hannity and D!ck Morris on sexism; no, I%u2019m not making this up
The face of evil, McCain%u2019s senior policy advisor on the %u2018gender card%u2019
And finally Sarah Palin in her own words
If this one clip were shown nationally as an ad for one week this election would be over, it is that devastating. A must see.

- Hi, I''m Mrs Palin. I am governor of one of the smallest states in the Union (population wise). I''m under investigation for getting people fired that I don''t like. I won a beauty contest and men like me because I have big bazoombas. My 17 year old daughter is pregnant but I run on an abstinence and morals platform because it works. When 72 year old McSame gets cancer again (for the fifth time) I''ll be pushing the Button at 3:00 AM.
President Palin? YIKES LOL!!! Now THAT''s scary! - Reply to this comment
- "I come out of the blue swing-state governor world, Engler, Whitman, Thompson, Mitt Romney," Murphy said during the mishap which has since been posted on YouTube. Murphy later flatly says of the pick, "It''s not going to work."
Noonan is heard going even further, saying of the presidential race, "It''s over."
"I think they went for this %u2014 excuse me%u2013 political bulls%u2013t about narratives," Noonan also said. "Every time the Republicans do that, because that''s not where they live and it''s not what they''re good at, they blow it." - Reply to this comment
- Lets really look at the experience comparison:
Obama:
B.A in political science from Columbia University, with a specialization in international relations
J.D. in Law from Hardvard, graduated magna *** laude; President of the Harvard Law Review
12 years (92-04) teaching constitutional law
7 years State Senator: sponsored more than 800 bills
4 years Senator for Illinos, a state with 12.8 million people
Palin:
Bachelor''s in journalism from University of Idaho
4 years Wasilla City Council (8000 people)
6 years Wasilla mayor (8000 people)
1 year "Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission"
20 months governor of a state with 660,000 people
Do the Republicans really think we''re so stupid that we would believe she is more experienced than Obama? Give me a break%u2026 - Reply to this comment

- The article begins by saying that Gov. Palin is an unknown quantity. There is something we do know and I hope it matters to some of us. She favors teaching creationism, the anti-science, to our children, as if it were true. One of the reasons our nation has prospered and progressed so was because we were led by thinking people devoted to the scientific method of research. Our Constitution rejects rule by the religious in favor of freedom of religion. Creationism has no basis in science, it is a religious belief. Yes, she gave a great speech, she is beautiful and charming and filled with one liners, she however, does not think rationally and that disqualifies her as a president or vice-president.

- i did listen to her speak, reading the one liners from the telprompter, she has a mesmerizing quality in front of the camera. as i listenedit is still not clear what story or which word she will stick to, as reports have it she is against pork spendinga and ear marks yet she and the lobbyists that she authorized to to hire have secured nearly $200,000,000.00 in ear marks from the federal budget for 2009, she supported sen stevesn in getting funds for the bridge to no where that she now calims she was against, as mayor of 6,700 citezens in Wassila she secured federal ear marks for mas transit! and $15,000,000 for a rail ine to connect Wassila to Sen. Stevens home town. so is she for or against federal government spending? she is gov of lightly populated state taht recieves most of its incomef rom the oil industry, the state is wholly dependant on the oil industry, i am still waiting to see and hear where the change from politics as usual is.

- This article''s title puzzles me some. The media is acting like the Governor Palin kind of woman is so rare that nobody knows what to think of her. I say that maybe the norm for any coverage a really smart conservative lady gets,.....but there are "Sarahs" ALL OVER THE PLACE in this nation. I actually know more gals who are like her than not. They are excellent helpmates (best definition for BEST FRIEND) for their husbands,......they complete the two part base needed for the strength of a family to stay together. The GOOD WOMEN recognize this quality that Sarah Palin displays in themselves or in their hopes to be like her,.....AND ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR HER IN NOVEMBER.....Say hello to the "PALIN DEMOCRATS"!!!

- The more the radical far left attack Palin, the more it strengthens the cause of Palin, she diffinately has something that Obama, Biden or even McCain doesnt have, she is one of us. I bet you , she doesnt even have a Million dollars. About time we get someone in office who is truly for the people. It will be a tragedy if America does not elect McCain and Palin. This is one opportunity I will not miss. They have my vote and most of my democrat friends vote. (I live in a small town, so the dems here dont like Obama clinging to guns comment).

You can tell that Alaska just loves her with that Troopergate Abuse of Power.
Abuse of Power - she WILL fit right in with Cheney... - Reply to this comment
- Funny thing here is that the larger media and Obama himself were tearing Palin down for lack of experience. She came out last night, laid her claim for the VP spot on the table and contrasted her experience with Obama''''s.
Turns out that she is more qualified for the VP position than Obama is...but he is running for President. Let''''s see the media wrap their brains around that one...
