Palin; heartbeat away from presidency. Fact: McCain is an OLD guy...very old. Do we really want some rookie to step in if he has the big one? Why didn''t he pick Ridge, or someone seasoned? Stupid move. Send this woman back to the woods. If McCain were to die, you know who''d be running the country for Palin - bush and cheney from behind the scenes. It''s obvious she has no close advisers with national or world experience. Scary scenario.

For 6 years, the Republicans were in complete control of the U.S. Government, the Republicans controlled the Presidency, the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate, complete control and they blew it! Republicans are running now as if they were not the Party in power that created this mess! The Republicans can not run and hide from their failed record! The McCain/Palin speeches would have Americans believe Democrats created this mess, doubling the National Deficit and all the other nightmares! Republicans did this to us and they need to own up and step aside and take a much needed time out!

An ABC News cameraman was hand cuffed and locked up filming elaborate party`s being sponsored by Corporate American Lobbyist for Republicans attending the Republican National Convention. Despite rules and new laws preventing this type of influence peddling, Corporate American Lobbyist found ways around them! For example the rules were created for individual Congress members but Lobbyist get around those rules by throwing elaborate million dollar influence peddling parties for Congressional members in groups! The rules don`t apply to groups of Congress members, only individuals! So the influence peddling Party continues! The biggest Party was for Tom Delay, the ''back in action'' disgraced GOP member now welcomed back as a hero! John McCain can`t escape his corrupt Republican Party or his 90% voting record with unpopular Pres. Bush or his failure to `get it` on the U.S. Economy! It`s the economy stupid `Ad nauseam`!

Let''s see -- Britney Spears: Hot bimbo with way too much personal drama and who lipsyncs songs written by others. Sarah Palin: hot bimbo with way too much personal drama and who reads speeches written by others. What''s the difference?

This Palin situation confirms why I am an independent. I think both the Republican and Democratic parties continually show their hypocrisy. The conservative wing of the Republican party is ready to embrace Palin yet these same people have railed for years against young minority women for having babies at a young age and out of wedlock - let''s face it, everyone doubts the young Palin girl would marry a self-professed "redneck" with almost no prospects if it were not for the presidential campaign. Now maybe the Conservatives can finally spare us all the hypocrisy and keep quiet.

Sarah moves to the white house, Michelle stays put, she''s not going any where.

I''m an independent.

A little jealousy are we? Sarah Palin is right on! Listen to her talk with an open mind, and you''ll feel her comitment to our country and to us. We don''t need Wahington wasting so much money, we don''t need to have goverment taxing us to death. We do need someone honest that we can trust and McCain and Palin are that.

I''m an Independent. And despite the rhetoric and slurs here from bloggers and from the news media, from what I gather, Palin has done two things: She''s energized Republicans and scared everyone else away.

I also find the "blame the media" argument to be tiresome. There''s bias on both sides. A using that argument is simply an attempt to shift blame away from their own faults.

The fact is, no matter who they run, they have to own what they have done to the American people the last 8 years. Just look around and ask yourself if what the Republican have been doing is working. Time for a change to being smart.

bigwhtpony what drugs are you taking? Maybe the same as Lint Balls. Obama said he would cut taxes on 95% of Americans, and develop alternative fuels to create jobs and combat climate change. He was going to work to increase educational benefits and develop universal health care and strengthen the middle class. Companies that invest in good jobs here will be rewarded, unlike currently where companies like Wal-Mart are rewarded for destroying jobs. That is called change, Mr, NO CHANGE conservative.

If all we are going to see is attacks against Obama and no real discussion on the issues over the next two months, I am voting for Obama. Posted by mitch6544 at 12:54 PM : Sep 04, 2008

That''s all Obama has been doing for a year! Are you deaf or just stupid? What are HIS ''real'' discussions? What has he ever espoused besides ''Hope'' and ''Change'' and other empty, devoid of substance rhetoric??? You libs are pathetic.
