I live hundreds of miles from the nearest coastline and the remnants of a hurricane got my house. There is no place you can truthfully assure yourself that an earthquake, a fire, a mudslide, a tornado, or some other disaster will not strike.

How many of these evacuations do you have to go through before you say to yourself:

"Maybe I need to move my family further north. Out of a hurricane-prone area. Hmm... That just might make sense."

I lost much of my house to the remnants of a hurricane four years ago, though I do not live near a coast. I did NOT expect the government to make my world perfect again. I was thankful to have my family and pets alive.

I do not understand why people think that the government can or should fix everything. The government didn''t blow off my roof or collapse my house or send torrents of rain into my home. Life is not a fairy tale, and sometimes bad things happen. You just have to pick up and go on from there.

My kids didn''t whine, they just pitched in to help. What is wrong with these adults crying that they want somebody to rescue them RIGHT NOW?

"NOBODY is buying this Karl Rove crappola about the "Hillary supporters who will vote for McCain because Hillary is mad at Obama". Hillary is voting FOR Obama. NOBODY who supported Hillary will vote for McCain. He is opposed to everything they liked about her. This whole idea is being pushed by PAID OPERATIVES of the McCain campaign, and nobody else. It won''t work. Stick a fork in it! - Posted by IDNNSG

Wow - where did the "Karl Rove crappola about the "Hillary supporters who will vote for McCain because Hillary is mad at Obama". thing come from ?

I just pointed out she had nothing good to say about him - because there IS nothing good to say about him.

And you head off in some tirade about losing voters to McCain. Now that you mention it though...

40+ year old females is BO''s weakness in the polls, and I suspect Palin is going to snag them.

They tend not to be so drawn in by BS, or the ''home team'' spirit type thing - they want substance, which Barack has been very short on.

How''s the Republican convention have anything to do with a million democrats on welfare in the Big Sleazy, who can''t do a single thing for themselves? Feed me. Clothe me. Transport me. House me...re-house me..re-re-house me. Medicate me. Save me. Help me. Can anybody in New Orleans do anything for themselves? Yup. They can cash their welfare check.

Woe to you! God must be on the republican''s side. Why else would there be a nuisance of a hurricane sent to distract him from attending the convention?

"Ahhh, I think I support the president''''s policy," McCain said.

Nancy, I took your little test you posted yesterday (flawed as it was). I would agree the issues need to be fully understood before anyone should have the right to vote.

Oh, by the way, according to the test I''m friggin Ghandi.

"Bush Higher Marks For Handling Gustav Compared To Katrina"

Yes, COMPARED TO KATRINA, Bush did a heck of a job! When Katrina hit, Bush did NOTHING! We lost a major US city! Afterwards, Bush gave out no-bid contracts to the chosen few to rebuild... nice new mansions for his wealthy buddies! (and screw the rest of the people!)

So, this time, when the hurricane sputtered out, barely doing any damage, Bush has done a "better" job?

Bush is a MISERABLE FAILURE.

Vote for McCain/Palin if you want more of the same: lower standard of living for all but a few, jobs exported to third-world countries, the economy in shambles, privacy rights eliminated, free speech relegated to little fenced in areas underground, endless wars for oil, the president morphed into a king, the US Constitution in tatters.

McCain had BETTER change on hurricane relief.

He voted AGAINST Katrina relief.

Did you notice how Hillary never said a good thing about BO ?

She knows he''s destine to failure, and it will be a case of, "I tried to tell you so."

But Palin will be the 1st Woman President.

POOR HILLARY. Always the bride''s maid.

Keep up the comarisons of Quayle to Palin.
Quayle was 200 times the senator Barry-O is.
