"In its first national labor scorecard, the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations said more than 10 percent of Americans are unemployed, discouraged from seeking work or underemployed. That is a nearly 25-percent increase from one year earlier..."

Of course, at his convention speech, McSame will say that he economy is fundamentally sound, and that over regulation is to blame for any problems.

Also of course the press will let him slide on that one.

I''m so glad Obama is taking the lead - how any reasonable middle class person could consider voting Republican after the last 8 years is beyond me!

go Obama / Biden!!!

you''re kidding, right? dubya went home to Texas. So if you are giving him credit for the hurricane not turning into a cat4 and holding some fundraisers, then i guess you have to hold him responsible for the deaths and despair following Katrina

The repub ticket of Mr Magoo and Peggy Bundy will lose another 5 points in the polls after their disgusting convention of fear and smear gets going in full swing this week.

You cannot be a "true" independent and voting republican in this election. True independents understand the adversarial aspect of our checks and balances system. Therefore you must fire the republicans this time around because of the sadistic abuse of power. Then when the democrats abuse power, fire them. That is a true independent! 1/3 of stated independents are true, the rest are impostures or in denial. Please tell me what the Republican Party has done to earn the independent vote? The only chance republicans had at the true independent voter was if Arnold Schwarzenegger was running.

I am disappointed you didn;t bite with your lies and smears about his birth records, so that i could post the link to his birth certificate and then put your foot in mouth comment back in your face, and you didn;t even respond. Geesh, its no fun around here anymore.

Here is why you need the NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL experience of a SENATOR to be our President or VP:

GW Bush.

When former Texas governor Bush because president, he cut funding for a program to corral and dispose of loose nuclear weapons grade material in the former Soviet Union, which sought to keep such material out of the hands of Islamic terrorists. Bush, understanding little of national or international affairs, thought terrorism wasn''t an issue (he famously disregarded Clintons advice on Al-Qaida when he came to office).

This is understandable, of course, for a Texas governor. Its even more understandable in a governor, like Palin, who''s been looking after fewer people than the Mayor of Memphis, Tennessee.

When Obama became Senator, he immediately joined the effort to corral nuclear materials in the Soviet Union: (apparently he doesn''t want nuclear material to get into the hands of terrorists either), and travelled to the Ukraine to monitor its progress. (Bush had meekly refunded the effort AFTER 9-11 taught him a lesson in international affairs).

What lessons will Palin be learning ''on the job''??

Sarah Palin. A true political reformer who has cleaned-up one of the most politically corrupt states in the nation and who has shown a solid and unwavering commitment to ethical government. Palin is the antithesis of Plagiarist-Joe.

Tough choice? ----NOT!

it''s an easy choice.....strong political leader, or treasurer of the PTA who''s for BIG OIL and as her state melts away sees nothing to global warming....

Early THIS year, an op-ed in the Anchorage Daily News ripped into Gov. Sarah Palin''s appearance (1/15/08) on a morning "shock jock" radio show ("The Bob and Mark Show") as "plain and simple one of the most unprofessional, childish and inexcusable performances I''ve ever seen from a politician."

Palin has feuded with State Senate president, Lyda Green, over a wide range of legislation.

Lester referred to Sen. Green as a jealous woman and a cancer.

PALIN knows full well Lyda Green is a CANCER SURVIVOR, but didn''t do what any decent person would do, say, "Bob, that''s going too far."

Lester questioned Green''s motherhood, asking Palin if the senator cares about her own kids.

PALIN LAUGHS.

Then Lester says, "Lyda Green is a cancer and a b*tch."

PALIN LAUGHS for the second time.

What were teenage boys and girls thinking when they heard the governor laugh at someone being called a b*tch? How about the teenage girls who look up to Palin. What did they think when they heard her laugh?

But there is more. Lester then describes Green''s chair as big and cushy. A clear reference to the senator''s weight.

PALIN LAUGHS a third time. She''s just having a grand old time.

Palin was clearly enjoying every second of Lester''s vicious attack on her political rival. Then she says she''s "honored" by Lester and invites him to her speech.

ZOGBY:

McCain/Palin 47%
Obama/Biden 45%..

Who do you want as VP?

Joe Biden. The "cheney" to compensate for sweetie hussein''s gross inexperience; a plagiarizing expert who has stolen more words than Milton Berle (and he''s just as funny). Totally lacking in ethics, in his third-rate, mediocre law school Biden was only able to graduate 76th in a class of 85 - i.e., he was in the lowest 10.5%! Of course, while campaigning, he claimed falsely to have graduated in the "top half" of his class. A plagiarizer and a LIAR! As a politics-as-usual, 30+-year Washington parasite, Plagiarist-Joe never worked harder than in his efforts to kill bi-partisan legislation simply because it would have adversely affected the enormous income of his lobbyist son. Plagiarist-Joe is the poster-boy for all that is rotten in Washington. This choice illustrates the incredibly bad judgment of the Chicago Cretin.

Sarah Palin. A true political reformer who has cleaned-up one of the most politically corrupt states in the nation and who has shown a solid and unwavering commitment to ethical government. Palin is the antithesis of Plagiarist-Joe.

Tough choice? ----NOT!

(For the genetically low-IQ supporters of hussein: sorry about using all these adult words. Just so you''ll understand, "antithesis" means "opposite". Being a plagiarist is "bad" - not in sense of "good" but in the sense that going to jail for beating-up your old lady is "bad".)

But compare the campaigns - Obama has run an exceptional campaign, while mccain seems to always be puttin'' out fires chasin'' Obama. This palin nomination is a debacle. She''s an absolutely unqualified - and leans way too far right for me. Did he really think woman would vote for just any woman? It appears she wasn''t vetted and the dirt is all comin'' out. These folks are lookin'' like the Clampets. Meanwhile, the fine tuned Obama machine is cruisin'' on...
