I agree. I came back from nam and have been anti war ever since. I do not support th war in Iraq but i do support our troops.

I am a Canadian. As you know, our country did not participate in Vietnam or Iraq. Despite incredible pressure, we said no. We have fought in campaigns which our people have felt were justified. My father fought in Korea in 1951. We are in Afghanistan now. Troops don''t make the choice of where they are sent. They trust the decisions of their government, based on intelligence and moral conviction. Vietnam was a lesson for all of us. That is why I can''t believe someone like Bush would have even considered this based on these lessons of the past. Let me tell you how incredibly thankful I am for people like yourself who served your country during one of the most difficult times in history. You made a sacrifice that most young people today could not imagine. The fact that you stood up against the war upon your return tells me that you are a man of conscience, and those thousands who were lost look to you to speak on their behalf. Whether they were for or against the war, I am sure they would have thought long and hard before their children or grandchildren were put in a similar situation. This is the tragedy that is Iraq.

i had no idea you were so conflicted.
I sincerely wish you better. I know you will be quick to say i''''m the one who needs to get better, but i sincerely pray for you.

Don%u2019t. If your prayer goes unanswered, you%u2019ve wasted your time. If it gets answered, you%u2019ve violated my freewill.

And I am not conflicted. Nor do I think you are. Seriously, get a clue -- everyone is different.

are you telling us you really dont see the difference?
you equate with promoting porn with the distribution of God''''s word?

i mean seriously.

Yes. What is offensive to one is desirable to another. There is no such thing as a right to not be offended. So in truth, I would no more remove those street preachers from the street than I would the X-rated move vendor.

And look, just because YOU see it as doing God%u2019s work does not mean that I do.

Seriously with the way some of the religious fanatics try to push their beliefs, yes they are as bad as the porn distributors. If they want to believe that is fine but what gives them the right to push their beliefs on others ?

Actually the half-hour or so that I was gone, I was servicing my cats. Two wanted in, one wanted out and they all wanted food. In the meantime, my wife had come home and wanted to tell me all about work.

As for my biblical research; it took me from September 1986 to some time in 1996 (not sure of the month).

And the tv evangelists are the worst for ripping off people. I can''t believe how gullible people are thinking they can buy their way into heaven.

You know, I drive down the street and often there%u2019ll be some church group working an intersection. They%u2019ll run up to your car and drop tracks in through the window -- regardless whether you tell them not to. I complained to the police once and was told that %u201Cthose people are just exercising their freedom of religion.%u201D

Yeah, and if I%u2019d been on that same corner selling porn flicks, I%u2019d have gone to jail. Yet they complain that they can%u2019t pray in public.

How about this: You want all the smut off of TV? Then drop all the religious broadcasting. Sounds fair to me. Because they could not possibly be any more offended by pornography than I am by religious TV programs.

GOD, AND ONLY GOD SEES YOUR HEART.
someone can tell you they feel a certain way, but only God really knows if that is true or not. God sees your heart. dont let anyone diminish your chance at your own walk with God.

Would you admit that this thinking is open to interpretation in any number of different ways. The problem is, not everyone is as genuine as you are. This current administration has cloaked itself in right wing christian fundamentalism. They have brought America to it''s knees in so many ways over the last eight years. It has left so many christian people with a bad taste in their mouths when thousands have died and people''s lives have been ruined.

What i expect of Bush is to see horns start growing out of his forehead. If he isn''t the antichrist, i don''t know who is.

Yes at 418 he said if he could he would have everyone follow in Gods word. That sounded like a power play to me.

I think it was this one:

That''''s faith... we all face things but with God your period of adjustment is tolerable. This is still life for ALL of us. Because I am Christian does it mean i will be the one who wont have to wait in line at the supermarket, or not lose a loved one? No. the same sun that shines on you the unbeliever shines on me the Believer....

at your lowest it takes everything u can muster to pray to God, but wherever you are is exactly where you should begin.... the beginning is the hardest part.

I had just done a screen refresh and saw the post count at 666. I scrolled down to see what the post was and this was it. I mean nothing by it. As I said, I actually wanted to make that post (not the subject, the number).

I kind of wanted it too. I worked as a cable tech some years back and my number was 606. I tried to get them to change it to 606. They asked me why i wanted it. I told them it represented the jobs they kept sending me on. I was always sent to the hood because i never had a problem working there. I just try to treat everyone right.

Not being spiteful. It%u2019s just the irony%u2026. Frankly, I kind o%u2019 wanted it. But that%u2019s just me.

And actually I don%u2019t so much feel personal animosity toward fenner as much as I resent the attitude. Because in fenner%u2019s mind it%u2019s what God wants, fenner feels totally empowered to prohibit others (in this case, gay people) from expressing their love for each other the way that is satisfying to them.
