Balanced budget is a freak of nature.

Posted by donbl1 at 09:16 PM : Jan 07, 2008

Are you an economics whiz or what?

Balancing a budget is limiting expenditures to income.

You apparently have no problem with the mortgaging of our children''s financial welfare by running a government largely on borrowed money.

Not only will the principal have to be paid, but interest as well.

Freak of nature, indeed.

Formr, I have never thought that countries work with us because they "like" us. They work with us if it helps their national goals. To me, that is business.

I am not too worried about "world" opinion.

Then cooperation isn''t of much value to you either.

You think we can deal with all the issues that effect our well bing alone do you?

Think again.

Formr, a balanced budget is not what has made America great (seldom happens). Balanced budget is a freak of nature. Besides, the GOP Congress during Clinton required the balanced budget not Clinton.

I am not too worried about "world" opinion. Do you think Putin cares? Achmadenajad? Chavez? Castro? We are not in middle school. Americans have been hated ever since WWII when it became obvious we had great wealth and power.

Since most EU governments have become "friendlier" during the past 18 months, we are probably doing OK.

Apparently, there are a lot of Democrats who do not want a return to the Clinton years.

Posted by donbl1 at 09:06 PM : Jan 07, 2008

Hillary was not the architect of the Clinton years. Bill was.

I personally, would like to return to a time when we had a budget surplus, rather than a record deficit.

I would like to return to a time whne we were respected in the world.

I would like to return to a time when we were not an agressor, hegemonic country.

But Hillary isn''t the one to take us back up on the high road and out of the ditch.

First we had the "selling of Hillary".

That didn''t work.

Then we had the "slamming of Obama".

That didn''t work.

Now we have "teary-eyed" Hillary.....

Obama and Hillary are the best pick for President.
They promise so many changes and America is looking for changes.
-They will allow al-qaeda to rebuild training camps.
-They will allow Iran become a nuclear power.
-They will allow Iran to control middle east.
-They will allow Hugo Chavez to spread communism.
-They will allow gayss marriage.
-They will allow illegal immigration.
-There will be more buildings demolished by al-qaeda

"I''''m a poor oppressed woman just like you. "

She NEVER ran her campaign that way and you sound idiotic claiming that.

Well, with change being the word this election, the guy with the best rhetoric wins.

Maybe that is OK as nothing will happen in Washington then as Obama does not know how to make things happen there.

In all fairness, Hillary has paid her dues. She has worked for change. But her message is "35 years experience." Unfortunately, I think that message isn''t one that resonates with voters who are looking for fresh ideas and action, rather than a Chinese water torture approach to change.

I don''t think that supporting Obama requires Clinton bashing. Obama acknowledges the past efforts of others that have allowed his historic rise, perhaps to a future Presidency. Both parties are tarred by scandal and have much to atone for. I, for one, am glad to pass the torch, hoping that he, and the youth that support him, can move us beyond the differences that pitted the Viet Nam War generation against one another. We should never forget--but we can forgive and unite to save our Republic for future generations.

"At least in NY she could get most of the women to vote for her mainly because she''''s a "minority" that women can relate to. "

What the f--- are you talking about ? A "minority"? Think again. Women are not a minority, bud.

If you actually read the post, I was explaining how she ran her NY campaign, "I''m a poor oppressed woman just like you. Everyday, normal, common place women are - I can relate to you and your problems."

Women are the predominant voters in most elections, and she pandered to that - just like she''s now trying to pander to the crowd that like Obama''s "change" message.

Wow! Katie talked about Obama''s "victory" in Iowa.

Let see. Less than 10% of eligible Iowans attended. about 65% of those attended Deomocratic caucuses. Of those over 60% said no to Obama. A real mandate with about 2% of Iowans for Obama.

The Frankenmedia of all strips has bought Obama''s snake oil pitch. No objective reporting. No probing questions. You all just jump on the band wagon and cheer!

You''re all such final examples of journalists.. Erwadr R Morrow must be spinning in his grave!

If you were gulled by Hillary, don''t be gulled by Obama. Here are some of the monsters who steer this front man through his foreign policy hoops...their whole game plan is for war:

http://www.rense.com/general79/obam.htm

There is also a good picture of Obama when he is not mugging for the cameras like some kind of guru...

If you want endless war--just listen to Obama and ignore tghe fact that he has called for the invasion of Pakistan and his advisors have called for war in Sudan.

There is still time for sanity in the Democratic Party...you need not vote for this Bush Lite... Support Dennis Kucinich or Mike Gravel...but don''t flush your vote down the toilet for Obama...

So long as a woman can have a baby or two, what do they care about anything else?

Hillary better hope & pray she doesn''t come in third behind Obama & Edwards.

As a NY resident, I was completely amazed that she was re-elected as a Senator. She did absolutely NOTHING for this state, and she only came to the western end of the state a handful of times. Her only concern was downstate and trying to keep the women happy.

Now she''s trying to develop the message of "change", which would sound more believable if Cheney were running and it came from his mouth.

She''s a panderer - nothing more, and nothing less.
