Comments on: Poll: Huckabee Soars Into GOP's Top Tier
Giuliani Clinging To Lead Among Republicans Nationally; Gap Between Obama, Clinton Narrows
- I can tell you the exact point on the time line when this happened. It was at the CNN/youtube debate.
McCains numbers had already started to fall and then miraculously Mike Huckabee started getting DOUBLE the amount of questions he got before. Why did this happen?
and then all of a sudden his poll numbers started to soar.
YEAH RIGHT!!!!
This is bull ***. Don''t believe it.
These so called "scientific" polls are still susceptible to rigging. They ONLY call people who voted for George Bush(on land lines mind you) and ask them who they are going to vote for. It''s RIGGED!
You can try and tell us all day long that Mike Huckabee is going to be the front runner, but we know the truth.....
Thousands upon thousands of Ron Paul supporters are going to vote in this primary for the FIRST TIME! All the sheep like voters in American who are willing to be brain washed by the MSM will still vote for Mike Huckabee and Ghouliani, yes....but they will be out numbered by the army of first time Ron Paul voters.
Hey CBS and the rest of your MSM ilk ----

- yeah right! Huckabee''s a joke just like Chuck Norris...
You SOBs over at the MSM 1st tried to shove McCain down our throats but we didn''t want him. So you panicked, and then resorted to Huckabee.

- Main-stream media has gotten away with this for years but they are all underestimating the power of the ''net and the dissatisfaction of the people.
Manipulating polls, public opinion, this is old hat for them. Just as our government needs a major overhaul, so too do these scoundrels. They know it as we do - an enlightened public that is educated with the truth is not good for business. Each day that passes the public grows stronger, students no longer trust them and they are the future of the country.
Our voices will be heard this year, regardless of the efforts of MMS to keep them from the public eye. - Reply to this comment
- The CBS poll: Huckabee Soars Into GOP''s Top Tier, is a pathetic joke. It should read:" Someone Else Soars Into GOP''s Top Tier". Could that Someone Else be Ron Paul? What is it about Ron Paul that you fear so much? Is the idea of freedom and liberty out of step with the so called main stream media? Katie Couric''s primary question segment conveniently omits Ron Paul, but includes Bill Richardson who is not even a blip on the screen. THE PEOPLE are speaking, and they are saying Ron Paul! Why do you continue to ignore his presence? There was a time when CBS news was at the forefront of honest news reporting. Apparently, the days of Walter Cronkite and Mike Wallace are long time gone. Katie Couric certainly does not belong in the same category of these great reporters.I refuse to have the media dictate which presidential hopeful that I may consider. Your actions only strengthen my resolve.

- Why is Ron Paul not on the poll?..... you can hardly say that huckabee is winning when in the poll that I looked at showed that "Other" is winning, 68% for other and only 21% for Huckabee..... Ron Paul is that Other..... when will CBS get it right and add Ron Paul to the Poll?

- I don''t have much quarrel with your evaluations, b-easy 63, but the shortcomings of the other Republicans are SLIGHTLY more subjective than Huckabee''s. The 08 election is ours to lose, but I''d like to see us have to work for it a little harder than if the Huckster is the candidate. Why? . . .
I think the conservative Republican party (the one that used to exist before the neo-cons hijacked it), and some balance in the two-party system is healthy for our democracy. I''m talking about the party as it existed in the Nixon era when they contributed to bringing Nixon down.
I''m not sure when the takeover started. Probably under Reagan, who was a master at communicating but intellectually challanged when it came to understanding the long-term political realities of the direction his party was taking. In that sense, he was a failed leader.
It came to full term when the proto-fascist vice-president stood before the senate and said, "F--- you, Senator!".
Our democracy NEEDS civil, cooperative, compromise-filled dialog between the right and the left. If the polarization that exists today isn''t turned around, we are lost. - Reply to this comment
- I can''''t understand why a Republican with ANY political sense at all would see Huckabee as a viable candidate. No wonder the Dems are hoping he IS the one !

If not Huckabee then who? Rudy? Man of the super sordid past and present who used tax payer money to help finance his indiscretions? Who is/was probably will always be affiliated with org, crime? the opportunist who stands on the skulls of the 9/11 victims and is reviled by rescue workers?
No?
Then maybe Lying, McCain. Ol Bagdhad John with his stories of a peachy keen market place replete with totally scripted protection and his bomb Iran song? Mr. Love illegal immigration himself? No? Flippity. floppin Easter''s on its way McCain?
Romney? the man who like Cheney, feels the country is best served by everyone else''s kids dying for a war based on lying--but not his boyzzzzzzz. A man so greasy and slick, that he oozes under heavy tv light? Mr. Paroling the killers, throw everyone in his way under the bus Mitt? The Mormon dude? No?
Maybe Tancredo? LMAO or---
Why does anyone act like the Republican candidates are relevant? Without Independents voting for the GOP--they have no chance. Maybe...the GOP should take a clue based on all the Congressmen quitting...nobody wants a Republican at the helm or running the country anymore. They ran us into the ground-- and ignored the rule of law or even decency. backlash baby, backlash. - Reply to this comment
- Pooooor Rudy, Rudy, Rudy. the albatross around your neck is Judy, Judy, Judy. Dragging you down. What else did you think would come from adultery that was so well publicized?
As your aspirations go swirling down the political tub remember this--no matter how liberal you imagine America is--when you spit on your marriage, eventually--you reap what ya sow. Donna and the kids must be laughing themselves into a coma. Ya know a lot of us are too. Go Huckabee!!! I can''t vote for you (you are a Republican and 2008 has to be a vermin free year for the US) but I still chuckle and hope you steal the party nomination from Rudy. Nobody likes a cheater. - Reply to this comment

- Ron Paul is far more qualified than any of the other GOPs. He is a true leader, caring for the people and the consitution. Something the GOP party in general forgot to follow. DR. RON PAUL wins for me and my family hands down. What an amazing man. Go Ron Paul!
visit his site at RonPaul2008.com and you decide for yourself! - Reply to this comment
- There is a very good set of reasons that our founding fathers went to such great pains to build a wall between Church and State. They had in their recent memory and experience the following examples of where religion perverted the rights of individuals and sought to control governments:
The Spanish Inquisition
The Salem witch trials
The slaughter of the Hugenots
The Thirty Years War
Torquemada
The Crusades
There are more examples that I do not have space to list and we have several examples of more recent history.
The bottom line is religion and politics do not mix. Once religion worms its way into a government, it seeks to become the government. Just look at the Islamic fundamental movements around the world. They are not content to stay in the mosque, they want to sit in the halls of power and make everyone believe as they do.
So it is with the ultra right wing evangelicals that have a near stranglehold on our government today.
Your vote against these elements is a vote for freedom. One cannot be a true American and vote solely for a candidate because of his religion. Religion cannot be the sole qualification. To do so is to step blindly into a chaotic and bloody past.
religion must be a private matter. It must never enter the public domain. - Reply to this comment
- My last posting involves Huckabee''s upcoming article that asks if Jesus and Satan are brother''s in Mormon theology or not.

- A spokeswoman for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said Huckabee''s question is usually raised by those who wish to smear the Mormon faith rather than clarify doctrine.
"We believe, as other Christians believe and as Paul wrote, that God is the father of all," said the spokeswoman, Kim Farah. "That means that all beings were created by God and are his spirit children. Christ, on the other hand, was the only begotten in the flesh and we worship him as the son of God and the savior of mankind. Satan is the exact opposite of who Christ is and what he stands for." - Reply to this comment
- I have no idea who''s version of the mudering parolee story is true, Huckabee''s or the two members of the parole board.
But there is enough credibility to the parole board''s version that the Dems. attack machine would beat Huckabee to death with it. I can''t understand why a Republican with ANY political sense at all would see Huckabee as a viable candidate. No wonder the Dems are hoping he IS the one ! - Reply to this comment
- I am going to try again to post a comment here..I dont dare use a name or I am sure this post will not be accepted like the other two ...R.P. is leading in every fair poll I have seen!

DEMS HOLD FIRE ON HUCKABEE; SEE ''''EASY KILL'''' IN GENERAL ELECTION
Tue Dec 11 2007 10:27:53 ET
**Exclusive**
Democrat party officials are avoiding any and all criticism of Republican presidential contender Mike Huckabee, insiders reveal.
The Democratic National Committee has told staffers to hold all fire, until he secures the party''''s nomination.
The directive has come down from the highest levels within the party, according to a top source.
Within the DNC, Huckabee is known as the "glass jaw -- and they''re just waiting to break it."
In the last three weeks since Huckabee''''s surge kicked in, the DNC hasn''''t released a single press release criticizing his rising candidacy.
The last DNC press release critical of Huckabee appeared back on March 2nd. - Reply to this comment
- This poll is useless. I just voted twice without even logging out. The old media knows they are going obsolete faster than the Edsel (see a recent article about NBC refunding a bunch of their advertisers $500k each because the network couldn''t reach minimum ratings targets). Now it appears that CBS is trying to expose a "spam" effort for Ron Paul by posting an easily rigged poll, so that they can then cry "we told you so!" when the votes come in against their liking. Sorry effort CBS...
...and then this:

It sucks to lose, doesn''t it CBS..? - Reply to this comment

- Let me also say that if Huckabee gets the nomination, then, the Democrats will win for sure.
