81 Percent Support Expanding S-CHIP, Including A Majority Of Republicans
- I agree with Bush on this one, why would a family of 4, bringing in 83K a year, qualify? I have a plan, since the Dems all want this so badly, why dont they come off there lifetime FULL benefits, and give that to the poor, an then, take away there lifetime retirement packages, in the HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS per year, as well as there spouses??????? If we have to take the cuts, so should THEY!

- "Bush''s overall approval rating remains at 30 percent, slightly above the 27 percent approval for Congress."
This is not a fair comparison because Congress contains a mix of BushLovers and Democrats. Everyone who disapproves of Bush also disapproves of Congress for not stopping his in/sanity AND everyone who approves of Bush (AKA, whackos) disapproves of Congress for not being BushLovers. It is, therefore, quite AMAZING that anyone approves of Congress!
If you could remove the BushLovers from Congress, and then compare Bush''s popularity to Congress'' popularity, THEN you''d get fair comparison.
In conclusion: Bush is strongly disapproved of by an extremely high percentage of the population of the USA, and by the entire world, as well! - Reply to this comment

- Please be quiet the President is trying to calculate fiscal spending in his head.......he''s a genius at work....
"Because the -- all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculate, for example, is on the table; whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases. There''s a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those -- changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be -- or closer delivered to what has been promised. Does that make any sense to you? It''s kind of muddled. Look, there''s a series of things that cause the -- like, for example, benefits are calculated based upon the increase of wages, as opposed to the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we calculate -- the benefits will rise based upon inflation, as opposed to wage increases. There is a reform that would help solve the red if that were put into effect. In other words, how fast benefits grow, how fast the promised benefits grow, if those -- if that growth is affected, it will help on the red." --George W. - A moment of silence please the President is speaking...
"If you''re a younger person, you ought to be asking members of Congress and the United States Senate and the president what you intend to do about it. If you see a train wreck coming, you ought to be saying, what are you going to do about it, Mr. Congressman, or Madam Congressman?" --George W. Bush, Detroit, Mich., Feb. 8, 2005

- So it''''s OK for Bush to increase the benefits of Medicare for the super wealthy and not remove the social security cap, but giving health care to people making =80K is WRONG? You have warped morals boy.
It''''s ok for Bush to not fight giving multi million $$ subsidies to Oil companies when they''''re making billion $$$ quarterly profits, but it''''s WRONG to give insurance coverage for lower middle class families.
Boy, your party has a seriously warped sense of morality.
