Wrong, KKK breath, the ones wishing for more efficient assistance from the Government mandated disaster relief programs are those living below the median income level for the area. While a disproportionate number of these people are Black, due to racism in wage and hiring practices (deny it all you will, but every known statistic bears this out) the real dividing line is income.

Little progress? Nah! Didn''t President Bush say he''ll do whatever it takes to help New Orleans? Who are you going to believe, President Bush, or the evidence?

Replying to:

"...........What do you expect the Mayor is a Democrat and the Governor is a Democrat. That''''s why the poor people are suffering. It''''s called Social Justice...........DNC style. But don''''t worry our corrupt liberal wolfpack press will make sure our President takes the blame......as usual."

The President has ALREADY ADMITTED that there was failure at all levels of government.

I''ll make it simple for you.

All three heads should have rolled for this:

The Democratic Mayor
The Democratic Governor
The Republican President

All three of those heads should have rolled.

By Bush''s own admission, he s*crewed up.

Great job Brownie, great job GW Bush! Too bad no one currently in the administration or resigned or fired since the event ever really gave a rats behind - all party boys having fun at the frat with their buddies - too wasted to grow up and do an honest days'' work well.

Those who depend on themselves have rebuilt. Those who depend on the gov''t are still waiting. Isn''t it funny how those who depend on the gov''t are black. MLK turning in his grave.

The GOPigs "ownership society" at work in New Orleans. Credit all this to the dumbing of Americans, the only real accomplishment of the Ronald Reagan presidency. Don''t believe me? then look at the posts on this board: racists full of hate, bigots justifying their very existence because their racism accuses others of not working. How low can these low life GOPigs go? JUST ASK TERRY SCHIAVO!

If any of these bleeding heart liberals decides to call me a racist..then perhaps you guys should look at the source of this conversation..The CBS network, which is a liberal network, is stoking the race card in here. doing so (which liberals are very good at doing..specially in africa), these misguided liberals are giving the african american race this sense of "well, why should I do anything about it, they are suppose to come over here and wipe my arse for me" attitude. Billions up Billions of dollars are squandered over idiotic items. (I would not be suprised if many are hoping that they can stoke this guilt for a few generations). Many are using thier race status as an immediate qualification for relief (which is happening way to often). If you guys hate the government too much..then why expect too much.

Its no wonder no progress is seen.
There''''s a crasy person spending all the money and equipment and peoples lives in an insane "Araq attack" that is destroying the nation. But he and his are being well looked after.

*******

why dont you ask the people of New Orleans what they did with the money?? properly allocating money towards ESSENTIALS is the key here and not for some face lift operation or buying some more ''bling bling''. Most, i am not saying all, fail to understand that what they got was a TEMPORARY RELIEF..and not another lifelong generation upon generation of free welfare money.
Of all the disaster in this planet..the one that WHINED THE MOST is this sh*thole. Time to be held accountable for this train wreak that the liberal state and city govt. just ignored.

It is time to face the brutal reality. If a hurricane hits my town, we will not wait for the feds to come in and play a meaninful role. If they do, then that is supplemental to our efforts.

Most folks here either have a generator or access to one. Beforehand, we store water in our bathtubs, barrels, etc, anything that can store water. We also collect rainwater. For foods, we have canned goods. They can last a lifetime. We continually play roles as to what to do during a hurricane and after one to resume normal life.
Our banks are set up to operate in bare surroundings. They also take into account not all documentation would be available.

Again, when and if, the feds arrive, we will apply for assistance where needed but if they do not, we will survive and even prosper after a while. We learned a hard lesson from Katrina and the federal response.
