===You should really go back to class if you think that nazis were socialists. Nazis were extreme-right, not left. Are you going to say that Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a "democracy" ?===

I have made the same comments to others around here in the past. You'd be surprised how many don't know that. Or that the communists, media and professors were rounded up by the Nazis - the same groups incidentally that the right in this country considers "enemies".

Is anyone really surprised? The Crawford village idiot has nothing to fear from Congress and he knows it. Thus he is in no hurry to bring our troops home from Iraq or do anything else that he doesn't want to do. He does this despite what the people he was elected to represent want him to do because he's the "decider".

The Congress doesn't represent the people either; they represent big business and their own self-interest, nothing more. They couldn't care less what most of their constituents think as long as they position themselves to be re-elected.

I say, hoist them all out on their own petard.

S_Temper,

I moved to Boston from Ohio when I was 23.

No, war is not always bad. Peace is better when it can be accomplished without war. Deciding which is the best route involves judgement.

I say that not only to respond to your question but to make a point about some of the discussion going on in the Presidential campaign. Experience is overhyped. You can get any more experienced than Rumsfeld & Cheney and look where that got us.

What we need in the oval office is judgement. During the Cuban missle crisis, the Joint Chiefs were unnanimous in advising President Kennedy to bobmb Cuba. Robert Kennedy(no military experience) advocated for a blockade. Fortunately, the President exercised judgement and ignored the experienced advice.

Also, don't buy into sterotypes of Boston. There's all kinds there and some of the most rabid conservatives you'll find anywhere. Of course, there are plenty of liberals too.

RealPatriot1:

It would be easy to say that your party was hijacked by the extreme religious right, but that wouldn't be true.

By design, starting with Reagan, but honed to razor sharpness by Carl Rove, the strategy has been to fire up the base by exploiting wedge issues (abortion, gay rights, school prayer).

While these issues drive some voters, the rest of us who live in the "grey area" or don't really care one way or the other for have been shoved out.

The same thing happened to the Democrats in the 70's, but to the opposite extreme (i.e. George McGovern).

The problem with the Republicans is that as they drove to the right, the Democrats have nestled into the middle -- leaving the GOP with very little wiggle room.

"gkc99, "Nazi" means "National Socialist," so let's stop accusing Republicans of being "National Socialists" OK? Republicans are opposed to Socialism in most forms, and Libertarians (like me) are vehemently against Socialism in ANY form."

S_Temper,

I did it the other way around in the late 70s and early 80s. I was raised in a republican household in the most conservative Republican county in America(Franklin County,Ohio). I was a memeber of the Ward 5 Republican party Committee in Boston for a while in the 70s.

I was brought up to believe that Democrats got us into wars and Republicans got us out of them. I was taught that Republicans were better for the economy. That all may have been true for my parents but it hasn't been true for a long time.

I don't rule out being a Republican again, but the Republican party would have to take out the trash and return to its roots first. Not smaller government, effective government no bigger than it needs to be but able to serve the common person. An international foreign policy that seeks diplomacy first and military action only when diplomacy has been exhausted. Tax policy that spreads the burden and recognizes that those who benefit the most from society have the greatest responsibility to give back.

Do you really think there's room for me in this Republican party? I don't.

I don't see that happening any time soon.

And another correction: x-axis from high values (on left side) to low values (on right side) to be consistent with your claims.

S_Temper - I usually don't respond to idiots, but in your case I will make an exception. I am American born for probably more years than your feeble brain has been processing electrical impulses. You are claiming to be educated. I apologize to your family for the dismal state of education in this country. You may want to look up the meaning of concise and utilize this essential skill in your postings. I do congratulate you on finishing the Blogging for Dummies book, but hopefully you will aspire for more .. a brain is a terrible thing to waste.

"change your party and vote Republican."
Posted by S_Temper

For more of the same sh*t. More tax giveaways to the billionaires, more sacrifice of lives, less freedom, more intrusive government. That's what the Repugs have to offer.

Dems aren't perfect--although by initiating impeachment they'd come closer--but unless you want to see the Fascist takeover of America bear more fruit--don't vote Repug!

Otherwise some days kids may read history books as ask "how did Americans give away their freedom to the Nazis so easily? Why didn't they resist?"

Let Congress initiate impeachment proceedings, and watch those poll number soar!

Unfortunately for the USA, Bushit's 25% are in general the rich and powerful 25%, the people who own and operate the USA for their own benefit, the beneficiaries of the huge tax giveaways (while putting the optional war on a credit card--where's that Repugniscum financial responsibility?), the recipients of those fat no-bid contracts, the looters of FEMA programs, in general the people that the Bushit / Chickenshit administration represents. They sure don't represent the rest of us!

From Rasmussen, a polling firm, not corrupt/liberal news outlets like CBS/NYTimes, which have ZERO creditablity when it comes to news or polls.

Monday, July 23, 2007

Thirty-eight percent (38%) of Americans approve of the way that President George W. Bush his performing his job. Fifty nine percent (59%) disapprove.

S_Temper,

I haven't been subjected to any condescending holier-than-thou drivel this morning, so I decided to respnd to some of your comments which I find to be foolish.

Democrats have a slim majority in Congress, that's not the same as having effective control. Wait 2 years and you'll see what we can do.

In addition, afmca english good. S_Temper(anger management issues?) cognitive skills, not so good.

Democrats are trying; Republicans are blocking. Their loyalty is to party first; the people and the Constitution second. It is simple, you want to start to end US participation in Iraq - vote Democratic in 2008!

Another example of the two-party system meltdown. This country needs leaders, not politicians. Everybody is slinging so much mud at each other that it's blinded you to the failings of your two-party system. Lincoln was right when he said "A house divided against itself cannot stand." We are close to the division that brought on our own civil war only 145 years ago. Am I the only one that sees the abolishment of the two-party system as the solution to the croneyism and corruption that government has become?

IF the REPUBLICAN PARTY does what the people of this nation want we have UNITY! If the REPUBLICAN PARTY trashes the Southern Fascist Wing and again becomes the party it's supposed to be we are UNITED! I can't remember to many times in our history when 75% of this nation agreed on anything. They do now and it's the Southern Fascist who are keeping this nation from being strong and united. They and they alone must AGAIN face their complete and absolute failure!! Sieg Heil Y'all.

This whole article is about how Congress' rating is just as low as Bush's rating! The DemocRats control Congress. If you Dems want your representatives to grow a spine and change things, why don't you contact them and give them hell? Do it! Or are you people just as full of sh*t as your representatives? You losers really need to consider moving to Canada, where everyone agrees with your politics, because the Dems you elected are not delivering on their promises.

You know they say wearing a Swastika lowers your intelligence! You MUST have on at least 12 of them. Democrats are NOT the problem here Sparky, they are NOT the ones who refuse to allow the will of the People here. IF it were left to just the Democrats the Military would be in the process of pulling back from this Civil War and in the process of going after Bin Laden and the REAL enemy. The Representatives who refuse to follow the wishes of the people, the folks in Congress who continue to stall and obstruct are REPUBLICAN's or at least Southern Fascist who are pretending to be Republican's. Maybe you should take a night course in American History and for God's sake stay away from those Klan Rally's... they are causing you to make very stupid statements!! Sieg Heil Y'all. ROFLMAO

"If the media and Dems had the same attitude about WWII as they do this war, we would all be speaking german or japanese.
Posted by ovation3 at 06:28 PM : Jul 23, 2007"

How odd you are! First, FDR was a democrat, before the war, many citizens could not stand him, but in the late 30's and 40's , he was first an American, and practically every American, Republicans and Democrats, supported him. (...)"

Although, there is a parallel to be made with WWII, but not the kind ovation3 would like ...

Reichstag - WTC
Communists - Muslims
Enabling act - Patriot act

In WWI, Hitler invaded Europe and the USA went there to free Europe from german occupation.
Now, Bush invaded Iraq ... I wonder who is going to free them from US occupation ...
