Ain't that the sad truth, bro? The "believers" would rather have more ignorant "believers" coming out of our institutions of learning than educated "knowers"......

Formrusmcsgt, it gets back to an earlier post of yours, they want to create more ideologues they can use to drive a wedge between the public to keep them from speaking with one voice.

That is BS, toad... Most colleges in the country, particularly major colleges are and have been experiencing record enrollment. This is in addition to the increased costs of tuition. Thing is, most parents and students these days know that you can't get anywhere without at least a bachelors degree.

Colleges have their pick of the bunch today. Show me where colleges are begging for students, slashing prices, "buy one, get one free" classes... it's not there.

Now, hypnotoad, remove hands from keyboard and wrap them firmly back around that tree you were hugging all morning.

Instead of making higher education more obtainable to all of our children and pushing them on Math and Science, Bush is trying to get science books to teach creationism.

It should also be pointed out that every year the CEOs of Microsoft, Oracle and Intel go before Congress and ask fore more H1B1s because they can't find candidates in this country. Instead of making higher education more obtainable to all of our children and pushing them on Math and Science, Bush is trying to get science books to teach creationism.

The question is ,How Many years will it take to undo this administrations` " Damage of Major Proportions "?

I would contend that the answer is directly contingent on the prowess of Bush's successor and his/her agenda.

Should an inept Dem or another Repub be elected, it will take a long time, if ever at all.

If a competent, inspiring Dem can get the chair, the timeline would be considerably shorter.

Thanks to offshoring, fewer people want to spend the money to get college educated because they fear, rightfully so I'm afraid, that the jobs that will help them repay the college loans will be shipped out to a gaggle of people who aren't going to care one jack ***t about our country and its development or future.

Most of the H1B1s here have received free or very low cost higher education through the socialized institutions of their own countries. When an American with 30 or 40 grand in student loans competes with an H1B1 that has none, who can afford to work cheaper?

the u.s. is capable of feeding the world; yet, likes to make everyone pay for lunch, so they leave feeding the world to asia because asia's got people ... u.s. people sometimes refer to: gardening is communism because they live under the impression that a nuclear arsenal will cut asia's billions down to the u.s.'s three hundred million and even the odds ... ironically, poor third world asians not only have to grow alot of their own food, but have to make their own toilet paper too: while u.s. folk are proud of the fact that they've third world asian slaves that make everything for them ... it doesn't last: the cost of scraping by in most of the third woald is as low as 2.00 per day, while third world products fly off u.s. shelves at a cost of 20.00 per item ... if it's not enough to invite u.s. folk to invest in people that don't make folk pay for lunch and it's not enough to invite u.s. folk to invest in products that appear to slave foreigners while actually slaving locals, then perhaps it's more simple to suggest that u.s. folk assure themselves that a twenty dollar product spreads a dollar to each of twenty people ... what i mean to say is: if each individual pays one dollar for each labor of each product: then disparity is at it's lowest and capitalism is at it's best ... however, at it's best: capitalism's trading of the dollar is still an elitist formality that delimits the ability of many, if not most, to survive ... those that make folk pay cause folk to suffer and die
